  1. If none of you have fasted it's highly recoomended! I have done many fasts as short as 16 hours, 20 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, up to about 10 days! I want to do a really long fast as well, if my body allows it
  2. I believe the seals are opened during the great tribulation.. which spans 3 1/2 years, then the bowls are poured out.. which spans another 3 1/2 years
  3. I sort of regret having sex last January now. But Jesus took even those sins. I had a relationship that was very sexual outside of marriage but shes my ex now
  4. I have a few of them my self. A Christian is a saint not a sinner. A Christian is sinless because: 1) they have repented of their sin 2) they believe in Jesus work A Christian believes in the water, blood, Spirit Then you have the typical stuff Jesus is God Resurrected etc
  5. I don't really like schedules but I will make a to-do list. My goal is to do all or most of these. I will put them in order of importance to me and work my way down. I think discipline is just sticking to your guns' you know? Do your best to do what you have to do. Remember your love for God in everything you do. Tell your self "im not going to do that, I love god more" if it refers to living a self controlled life. Anyways peace and love
  6. That seems silly but people will do anything to disprove the bible
  7. Declawing can be likened to cutting off a knuckle of all your fingers. I would try to just get the cat a scratching post. Use covers on some things etc.
  8. I always figured host meant kings or something like that
  9. Haha I was just thinking if anyone wanted to add to it. I like to share notes
  10. Jesus said "But the words you speak come from the heart--that's what defiles you." James said "If any man thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man's religion is vain." He continued "Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." What do you think?
  11. I always considered the teaching referring to being born again. The wine being the holy spirit and the wineskin the heart of man. You cannot put his spirit into a heart filled with sin. But a repentant heart circumcised by faith in Jesus Christ who can by his water and blood in otherwords sinless can have the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. As God is hallowed he cannot dwell where sin is. It is part of His character.
  12. I think one should feel guilty - because we are. If we don't believe we are worthless, wretched sinners - with nothing to offer - we won't feel the need for a savior. It's like Ray Comfort once said: People who don't believe they are sick, will never seek a doctor. Difference in beliefs at that point then. I believe we become sinless once we believe in the Lord. 1 John 1:7-10 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. KJV Then how do you deal with this statement in John's writings? Love, Steven by following what it says 'confessing your sins and be cleansed from all unrigteousness' in the same book it defines what unrighteousness, if you will. 1 john 5:17 "All unrighteousness is sin"
  13. You need to read the old testament to undertand the new. Jesus sacrifice was part of the atonement according to the sacrificial law set up through Moses. As another said, Jesus is the scapegoat. Leviticus 16 shows that Aaron sacrifices a goat for him and his household first. He then sacrifices another for all of Israel. But he then puts all of Israels sin onto the scapegoat and sends it away into the wilderness. Often if you read those old Jewish books you would see people tying a red cord around the goats horn. When it turned white the nation would realize God forgave them of their sin. At times, it did not change. And it stopped changing after Jesus came. Aaron was the one who did this, and if you read Luke 1:5, John the Baptist is a descendant of Aaron. Jesus himself said John was "elijah to come" and "john the greatest man born from women", the prophecies of John show him making Jesus paths straight. Read it side by side, You see Jesus being baptized by John in the Jordan then John confessing Jesus took away the worlds sin. Jesus goes into the wilderness. All sin requires blood and without blood there is no forgiveness and that is why he was crucified. When you pray for forgiveness for example I believe it is a false doctrine. Example, these people were neither water baptized nor were they praying but they believed Acts 10:43-47. Faith is what forgives but people put too much emphasis on the prayer. You pray to God confessing your sin, but believing in the sacrifice. You confess your sin with a repentant heart, believing Jesus took away the worlds sin (his baptism, water) crucified all sin once and for all through his death (blood) and you will get the holy spirit. 1 John 5:6 This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 1 John 5:8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. I hope you know then, the scapegoat was used to pay for the whole nation of Israel. But Jesus came, and he paid for the whole world. But to claim such a gift you have to repent firstly then believe
  14. I had the fountain in me turn to fire before, but thats not pleasant. if thats what you mean?
  15. I get that. But I don't you understood what the OP was ultimately talking about. The OP believes that if you commit one sin you are lost and have to be re-saved. THAT is what he and I are debating. I think you are trying to have a different discussion. His argument is not simply that it is possible to live without sinning. His argument is that you MUST not sin after salvation and that one sin is enough to put salvation in jeopardy and you need to get re-saved. Furthermore, he argues that if you commit a sin and die before repenting of that sin, you will go to hell. In that case I would refer him to 1 John 2:1 when it says "My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. " explaining that we are to NOT sin... but IF we sin he speaks on our behalf (Jesus only speaks on behalf of those who are HIS). Then show him the washing feet verse John 13:10 "Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.”" Showing that we need to wash our feet daily but remain completely clean / sinless. I am not implying that we become sinners again and I neither believe in praying for forgiveness of sins but I do believe that we need to ruminate on his gospel at times.
  16. Jezebel led people away from God through her immoraility Being called a jezebel is just that
  17. There is a difference between believing that Jesus bore the penalty of our sin on the cross and believing that we are perfectly sinless. Jesus is the only Person whoever had the ability to fully please God with works of righteousness. Jesus did not take away your sin nature. Jesus satisfied God's justice against sin. Jesus made it possible for us sinners to be in right standing with God. We are perfected objectively through the blood of Jesus (Heb. 10). We stand before perfected through the work of Christ on the cross. But we still have a struggle against our sin nature, what Paul calls "the flesh." God has only one standard perfection: Himself. He is the standard of perfection. For me to claim that I am perfectly sinless means I have to meet that divine standard and that means I have to measure myself against the Lord. None of us reach the place where we are perfectly flawless/sinless because that would put us on God's level and that takes us into heresy. Jesus never takes away our flesh, that's true. But I can't agree with the rest since I believe being sinless is mandatory for a Christian From an objective standpoint, we are sinless in that the part of us that is born of God, the part of us that goes to heaven when we die, doesn't sin. There is no commandment in the Bible that makes being a Christian conditional on living a perfect, sinless life. Our perfection is in founded in Christ, not in our own efforts. You can't live up to God's standard of perfection. God makes you sinless; you don't make yourself sinless through the strength of your will or your works. If you think you are capable of being perfect to the same degree that God is perfect (which is the only standard of perfect the Bible states that God accepts) you are sorely mistaken. That's what I mean. We are sinless through faith in Christ. But our flesh will sin till the day we die. But that doesn't nullify his work. Umm!

  19. This is just one instance where I was at a loss. There have been many more in the past few months. It is good that people can communicate in this way, and know what is being discussed. Yet, I am at a loss when names that I have not heard of before are being used. For this reason, I was wondering if it was possible to create a list of names people use and who they are referring to. Who knows ... maybe I am the only one who finds himself scratching his head when trying to follow a post. I think it's up to he person communicating to explain to you what you will understand. Ifthey use a bunch of different names you aren't familiar with ask them to not do that. Otherwise, meh doesn't matter. Just because you know the definition or word of something in the original language doesn't mean that is how it is supposed to be applied by how they use such a word or whatever. I like to think the translators tried their best to apply them in the best way they can be
  20. Don't take up the mindset that every Christian is your friend. They all believe different things, and honestly, truth can only be one
  21. JWs believe Jesus is not God and deny the power of God
  22. They can become idols. Anything can becom Idols. But I would hope to God that anyone who believes in the God who commanded these to be made knows that he is in HEAVEN and not a decoration.

    Factions

I can give an example... Baptist is faction one, lutheran is faction two, catholic is faction three, I my self am in my own faction apart from these. I am evidently in a different faction than the people on this website due to the conflict I receive from stating some things. A faction is a just a group, but it can be in the same building. You can be both labeled Christian but in different ways of thinking. You will automatically group with those with similar ways of thinking
  24. But don't fall into the self-righteous trap of thinking you are perfectly sinless. The ONLY person who can lay claim to that is Jesus. ^ how is that self righteous to believe god took away your sin?
