  1. Interesting article. This line stands out to me "This is because true repentance is only possible through the working of the Holy Spirit in one's heart." Thats extremely interesting to me, because I never felt repentant thoughts till the first time I took Zyprexa around 2003. (a drug for schizophrenics) I then started feeling really sorry for things I had done to others, to the point of tears. All I could think of before was wicked scheming and didn't really care who I screwed to get my way. This thread has me wondering if i was really saved in 2012, or was I always saved and was merely out there to hit a wall like the prodigal son to come back to the father? Yet so much changed after I truly believed in Jesus and proffessed him in front of others. I stopped caring about the world and myself. I felt a natural desire to read the bible and I was able to. And understood it. I felt like all at once I had the truth and the veil was lifted. No more conspiracies or mysteries, I had the truth right there. Thats how I felt. I was at a forum the other day and two were debating did King David have the holy spirit. One posted a single bible verse, and the other said it was taken out of context, and then proceeded to write a page about how there was no way possible David had the holy spirit. The original poster never returned. This got me interested. Here is the verse the first poster posted. Psalm 51:11 "Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me." But then in the book of Mark lets look at what Jesus said about that, Mark 12:35-36 "And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool" That says David had the holy ghost, David wrote the book of Psalms, Psalm 110:1 "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool." This KJV also points to 2 Samuel 23:2 2 from Mark12:36, 2 Samuel 23:2 "The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue." That reminds me of Samson Judges 14:6"And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done." Were these old testament men living in the flesh or the spirit? David sinned, was he living in the spirit while he sinned? That was the argument the poster made. Yet Psalm 51:11, David was repentant and saying the same thing you are right now.
  2. Heading? Where is the America I grew up in? It Is Still Here For The First Time In My Life I Stopped Into A chick fil a Yesterday And Wow, Beloved Brother Was I Ever Amazed Every Adult And Every Child In There Had Joy Filled Faces It Was Almost As If The LORD Jesus Was There Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (ESV) I Am Blessed Amen to that! Luke 21:33 "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." Mathew 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
  3. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from all appearance of evil." Ephesians 5:8 "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light" Ephesians 5:11 "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Thanks for making this thread. I too was a big fan of horror, scifi, and comic books growing up. With an abundance of our heart the mouth speaks. So if all you know and put in there is the world. Then when you speak you speak of that. Mathew 12:34 "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." For example, I can recall being at places in life and thinking about famous one liners from movies, or something a worldly figure said or did. But after reading the bible I think more about bible characters and events. And I think about what did Jesus say about something. Holding on to that knowledge now. If you fill your heart with the word of God you speak of it instead of the world. You can have things of light/positive that have nothing to do with Jesus Christ. The 1980's Superman is a great example of this. He was a very righteous and noble character, often saved the world from baddies and sought peace not violence. But he did not save the world from its sin like Jesus did. Look at Superman today - man of steel - this Superman steals clothes out the back of a car, causes rampant violence and destruction instead of peace, and kills people on the screen! Ok the folks who made the movie SHOWED superman doing that. But they only did that because thats how dark society has gotten. They crave all that stuff. The point is Supermans light has diminished. The light of Jesus Christ never diminishes, it is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I use to love halloween. But after being saved by Jesus I didn't even care about it anymore. I no doubt still have much worldly knowledge in my brain. At this point I do not have a desire to put anymore in there. Because it feels futile at this point, if the bible is the only thing that leads to God, (and it is), then all other books are merely a distraction from the way or path. I still read other books here and there, but I feel guilty or weird about it. Like its time I could be giving to the bible or studying God or talking about God to someone. The way I feel now I just don't want drama around me. I like the peace VS the chaos of the sin-loop. Fear and uncertainty are weapons for the devil. No one is perfect, but you have to be mindful of the things you are doing or watching so you don't get too involved and forget God. You invite the vampire (devil) into your home (heart) Its much easier to give in to the devil when you are drunk, hence be sober, be not drunk on the wine.
  4. I just don't see it that way. For me caffeine is a pain killer. Good for my head aches. But of course if you feel wrong about then then don't use it. To me that is a very interesting similarity, two things that were a murderer from the beginning. Caffeine does have analgesic properties (painkiller). I do not use it. I am telling others about the interesting things I have discovered about caffeine. No one has to believe that caffeine is associated with the devil. I personally know for a fact it is. But me saying that would only be considered my personal opinion. The information has been laid out in the article. If one is consuming 10 cups of coffee a day and suffers no ill effects, this knowledge is not for them. If one has struggled with insomnia, panic attacks, depression, or other mental disorders, this information could be beneficial to them.
  5. Sorry brother, but please look at this with an open mind. Caffeine is truly a drug, and a very addictive drug at that. Jesus said not to tell your brother about the mote in his eye till you have removed the mote from your eye. I have battled with caffeine addiction, I did stop. I'm sharing my findings with everyone I know.
  6. Is that your opinion? Did Jesus not say he was the truth life and way? Did Jesus not say the devil was a liar and there was no truth in him? Mathew 6:22 "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light," I imagine if that you truly believed sugar had caused you a brain aneurism and sent you to hell you would have a different opinion. I noticed that you went back and edited this post after I had already commented on it and you added in the last line in which I put in quote below in order to respond to it. What exactly does that mean? It is unrepentant sin that sends a person to hell not an untimely death, because of someone eating sugar or drinking coffee. Did you read my OP all the way? I had an aneurism and was unconscious in the hospital for months. During which time I saw some very dark and terrifying things. That does relate to the godless life I was living. And my unique sensitivity relates to caffeine, which I do believe caused me to have an aneurism. Since that time I have had much time on the shelf to read and research things. I apologize if that post sounded strange. Forgive my grammar, that what was wrote may have sounded like I said caffeine sent me to hell but that was not what I meant. Sin and being Godless no doubt did. Sin that lead to death. Its only by the grace of God that I am here alive right now telling any of this and not eternally condemned. But at the time it happened I did not believe sin existed. Nor that Jesus was real. I personally feel that caffeine sensitivity voided my free will and caused me to have a life of mental illness. Of course no one has to believe that, but there are many more in the world right now that battle mental illness everyday. I'm thinking this is what is really an eunuch, the autistics, the schizophrenics, born from the womb with a mental illness and different. They do not seek the things normal people do. Nor do they recognize the existence of sin. Can they be judged the same when they do not even know or consider sin? Can they have eternal life if they are born autistic and are hit by a bus at the age of 8 years old? Never truly knowing Christ.
  7. Thanks, that is some good scripture to remember. But what about taking the mark of the beast? Would that not be willfully resisting the king (antichrist)?
  8. ~ Nothing? But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Isaiah 53:5-7 To Do With The Faith? Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4 In The LORD Jesus, The Christ? Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 Nothing In That Wonder Filled First Testament Of Jesus? Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16 Hum..... ~ Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 Love, Your Brother Joe Well you know what I mean, when someone like Westboro tries to use the OT to promote violence in Christ name. No man should come between us an our faith in Christ as or lord and savior that died for our sin.

  10. I never got into Archie, not sure what to make of this other than it shows how dark society is getting. I was a comic fan growing up. I don't know these modern superheros anymore. Superman steals clothes out of peoples cars, causing rampant violence instead of trying to save others and promote peace. Optimus Prime gets off on killing now. You could say its not these characters fault, its the ones marketing them. But they only do that because society has gotten dark. And thats what the public wants. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, his light doesn't diminish, amen!
  11. I will not be on facebook. I might call myself digital and know technology well, but I will not be part of the artificial satanic hive mind that is facebook.
  12. One the one hand, you can say westboro church just don't know any better. Or you can fathom its far worse, and they are satanist posing as very outspoken and militant christians for the sake of giving christians a bad name.
  13. The stuff that causes the fights seems like mostly the old testament. And that stuff has nothing to do with faith in Jesus Christ.
  14. it's not my coffee drinking that needs defending, it's my Bible.... I just personally think you are abusing it. I don't mean to be offensive, but that is my opinion. So coffee does things to you, that's fine; but, to extend your problems to everyone else is not fine. When I was a television director I used to drink 50+ cups of coffee a night..... never really hopped me up, but it keep me alert which we had to be. I can't tell at 67 that it's hurt me in any way and I don't really crave it when we're out camping and run out. When I stopped working as a Xerox Service Engineer, my coffee consumption dropped a lot...... I wonder if that's why my blood pressure went up? When we're on vacation and having to drive late I'll get two packages of planters peanuts and put them in a 20 oz. Mountain Dew and it will keep me awake for three or four hours...... but I don't get hopped up but it does keep me out of bar ditches which my wife is grateful for. So I would say that we have very different reactions to coffee. So pardon me if I disagree with your scripture analogy. All is good brother. I'm just sharing my take on it. I'm not abusing it. One regular soda did to me in the 80's what an energy drink would do to the average person today. Its personal to me for several reasons.
