  1. G'day Cog. Hope you're well. Mate, the best answer is the simple answer, and that's prayer. Pray to the Lord. He knows your heart. A few years ago when I was seeking a better and more intimate relationship with God, I just continually prayed to Him; and as a matter of fact, I still do albeit not as much as he has answered my prayers in a way only He can. It's quite an amazing thing. f you have any queries for Him, just simply ask Him. You will be astounded with the responses and how you receive them. "Knock and the door will be opened"
  2. I say yes. It can be a great way to bring an unbeliever to Christ. Further to this, if a Church is willing to allow an unbeliever to cook for them, make coffee for them, listen to them or serve them in any way, it would be just a tad hypocritical to not allow them to sing don't you think? The greatest commandment is love. And we are known by our fruits. We should apply this to every situation.
  3. It's the most cherished day of the week, I personally believe. It's a day where so many brothers and sisters in Christ gather together in one building, and learn more and more about Him each and every week. We get to worship, learn and fellowship; and forget all our troubles. It can be a great reminder of just how great our God truly is. During the week we all have our ups and our downs, and God will use these services to draw strength to us, to unite us all and to help us overcome any obstacles. I attend a smallish Church with my wife and son. There's about 50-80 people that attend. We love singing hymns together and worshiping His holy name. My wife and I love getting our Bibles out and hearing the Word of God and allowing the Father speak to us. Yes, we should be delving into our Bibles every day, and I strongly encourage that, but the purpose behind the learning at Church is different to that at home, and it's great to have absolutely no control sometimes.
  4. I agree with those who say it will only give us more signs of the end times. It could well be the year that the mark of the beast is announced (of course, it wont be called that, but we all know what it truly is).
  5. You see thats the problem. If we want to be a part of the world, why even bother going to Church? We are of God. All glory to Him. Have you seen Christian Heavy Metal live shows? Mosh pits with fighting is encouraged. The rock and roll hand gestures are used, their doctrines are stretched to suit themselves. You can not say that is fearing our Lord surely? Thats trying to change him to suit our own necessities.
  6. Yeh im aware he is a Christian today, but our pastor still promotes his old records. And yes, his doctrine is as sound as Pastor Bob Daily.....
  7. Hey guys, bless you all. I raise this question as it is of great concern to my wife and I in regards to our Church pastor. Now he is a great speaker, he preaches the word of God very well, but there are concerning issues. Let me explain. He listens to BOTH Secullar AND Christian Heavy Metal music and enjoys it. I researched both, listened to both and they sound the exact same. Heavy Metal is satanic music. How can you praise the Lord whilst sounding like Satan? Now I understand we all have our struggles and thats fine, but the problem we truly have is that he doesnt look at it as a problem and goes ahead and PROMOTES it. And not just the Christian Metal, but recently, an Alice Cooper album from 1974. Some of the lyrics on this album are rather disgusting and so far away from Christianity its not funny. We confronted our pastor about this and he labelled it an art form. He said hes perfectly comfortable with listening to it and promoting it to all aspects of the Church. Again, we are aware that we all have our own issues with sin. However, this is the final big issue in a bit of a list of things from a man who is supposed to be leading a Church and setting the example of Christ. I wanted to get your thoughts and ask what you think we should do from here? Weve confronted him and he walked away, slamming the door on his way out. We are exploring our options as to what we should do from here. Thanks brothers and sisters. God bless you all.
  8. Wow.... I can't believe how much people even in great power can twist and blatantly ignore the scripture and words of the Lord! John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me". Not by the Church, not by the virgin Mary.... Through Christ alone. Spread the lies of the Pope! He is not a leader of Christ followers and will surely not lead people to the kingdom....
  9. Its quite simple if im honest. Jesus was sent for two reasons. To teach and to sacrifice. He taught the ways which would help us get to heaven. He taught us humbleness, love, mercy, compassion. He taught us grace. Through Jesus we no longer live by Law, but by grace. He taught how to preach the Good News and taught of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He sacrificed not just his life, but he copped a brutal, punishing, bloody, merciless beating for us. He was whipped, tortured, mocked, left half dead, and ultimately nailed to the Cross. Because of US and our sinful ways. He saved us from eternity in Hell - if we do what he asks of us as followers. So to answer your question, yes, he certainly did sacrifice for us. The greatest sacrifice of mankind.
  10. Now that's a downright spooky thought. Very much is.... We must repent and do all Christ asks of us but one thing the Bible regularly brings up is love. Love is more important than most things!
  11. Well, my friends and family know I love TV. I watch Footy, Soccer, Wrestling, movies, play PS3 etc.... And Ive felt convicted to sell it. I am studying Ministry and am wanting to learn Gods word each day but keep being distracted by such worldly entertainment and putting it before God. So I repented and asked the Lord to help me.... So he's been putting on my heart to get rid of it. Am I doing the right thing? Should I rid it?
  12. No wait you're right, I did type never a few times. But yes, from what I have read and watched on youtube, a few misuses of the Bible and preaching methods are quite clear.
  13. You simply have to check it out on Youtube. And I said often, to be clear Joel was my first favorite preacher, so maybe Im biased in giving him a chance moreso than others are. But I believe he could very much just be misunderstood. But I dont want to completely think that as I dont want to be deceived either.
  14. I had a dream last week in that I was told by someone I did not recognise, that Jesus would return in 15-20 years. What would you say about this? Of course it cant be an angel in my dream because they dont even know when the end times will be. And it has been on my mind a fair bit so maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me.... But maybe it was a sign from God? I dont know why hed tell me, but it would be ignorant of me to brush it off.. Thoughts?
