I read something of a theory that said that polygamy was not God's perfect will but he allowed it because of the circumstances of the time. Israel would constantly be at war and whod go to war- men. So there could be at times (due to men being killed in battle) a massive female to male imbalance. Polygamy allowed for women who would normally have no means for support (since they didnt work) to get into a family as well as be able to build back up the population.

I had a debate a few weeks ago with 2 older relatives. Basically they were saying flour naturally spout weevils if it's left alone for too long. I pointed out that the weevils can't just magically appear like that. What really happens is female weevils bore into the packaging and lay eggs which eventually hatch into the ones seen in the flour. Cue loud debate ( my family is like that) of how silly my explanation is and how the bible talks about spontaneous generation (where God everything from nothing ) which is how the weevils appear in the flour and that we were here (alive) before you. When the topic was Googled and the explanation given ( same as mine) that explanation was rejected saying " You're listening to the scientists " It was all very hilarious. But theres an application here. Sometimes we can be the same way.Sometimes we can get so comfortable with the beliefs and doctrines we grew up with or were taught that we refuse to let them go and use snything to defend them,even if they were proven to be unbiblical. It happened with Jesus and the Pharisees with their traditions and we see it today. Eg i got screamed at by an Anglican for saying confirmation and salvation aren't the same. They literally said what I said was evil and of the devil. So we need to be more open minded and remember that the word truth doesn't neccessarily mean- What we've always heard

Remember the story of Jesus and the Pharisees. They asked him to show them a sign from heaven and prove that he was who he said he was. Jesus basically pointed out that whatever he showed them theyd explain away and not change their mind. And then left them. Same principle here. This person's mind is made up and isn't changing regardless of what facts or evidence you show. So it's a waste of this frustrating your self trying to make him change his mind

While they are going about it the wrong way, destroying a statue isn't rewriting history . The records and story remain unchanged. For examples noones erasing the fact that that Columbus didn't land in the caribbean by wanting the statue down. What they are saying considering what he's done- (Enslaved a local population, committed genocide on different islands, sold women and girls inso sexual slavery and how much it offends people- the descendants of those people are very offended by his statues. It's basically the same as the descendant of a Jewish holocaust survivor seeing a statue of Hitler erected.) he doesn't deserve this honor. Remember alot of these statues were erected at different times under different administrations which weren't as racially senstive as they say they are are now. So . Should we keep up something that offends other people and reminds them of a awful time in their history just because others want it to stay up

I've been in discussions with unsaved people about stories or topics which shocked me at the way some people's morals or standards have plummeted. Namely, when a Christian comments on something done, they becoe a villain and the majority support the immoral act. Not the regular homosexuality transrights either but things society society general would frown on. Case in point 1. Some people frown in cheating but support polyamory. To say they're basically the same thing just that polyamory has permission is to get an angry lecture about the difference with all sorts of high sounding verbatim. 2. Once commented on the ridiculouness of a man who dated an adult film star getting shocked when she cheated on him. This sparked several people swarming me with criticisms saying it's just her job, can't apply moral judgment to her occupation, what does doing that for a living have to do with a relationship etc. It opened my eyes to something. THANK GOD FOR HIS WORD. The bible never changes it's standards while the world constantly does. So the Christian will always have a set standard to live by and just situations. So as the world sinks more and more the Christians (ideally)have a rock to anchor them.

Yep. Some people are using the cause to just steal and cause destruction. Some protests started out peaceful and then break into anarchy as trouble makers join in. There's a video of a BLM organiser shouting over a megaphone to rioters looting a store to stop. This isn't what we are about.

What i find funny is that it seems some of the offensive things that people peacefully complained about for years and were ignored are the things being now removed due to the protests- confederate flag got banned from NASCAR, statues of slave owners pulled down etc.

Honestly, i dont think its political. People were probably frustrated at the confinement of the pandemic, losing their jobs, then years of these incidents with officers getting wrist slaps. So i think that last death just made people explode and lash out. They are helping because look at all these great legal changes that had been dragged on for years. Sometimes God allows bad things to happen because they have positive results

Sometimes-The Lord told me..... is just a synonym for I think and I believe God is supporting me. It's the same excuse some people use to try to steal someones spouse claiming that God told them the other persons wife or husband was for them. GODS WILL NEVER CONTRADICTS HIS WORD. The bible says submit to the authority places over you so saying God told you not to wear a mask is just being rebellious both to the law and GODS word.
