  1. I will occasionally get a vision in my head while praying. Sometimes it is a persons face, someone I know. I then have a strong to feeling to pray for this person. I believe this is gods way of telling me something.
  2. Thank you for replying, The media is not believable and will never be, You cannot rely on it. For example the Lebanese Media consider us as the Enemies of Lebanon and the "Destroyers" of Lebanon while considering Hizbullah the heroes of Lebanon. Christian places in Syria aren't as unsafe as other places. I'm sure she lives in a place where the Syrian Army has the control. ISIS is pretty much silent in Syria it's target is Iraq so don't rely on the media. Yes That is very sad that we live in a time when we don't know the truth and do not know where to turn to get reliable information. The Bible does say there will be a time when people will be confused and not know what is right and wrong. This makes it hard for us to fight for what is right...we are ignorant to the real facts. May God Bless you and keep you safe
  3. Thanks for sharing your story...it is hard to really know what is going on in the middle east. I do not know what media is believable or not. For example I have a friend/ co-worker from Syria who is Christian. She told me that her relatives run a Christian school in Syria and do not feel threatened or un- safe. If I read what the media prints, all I see is ISIS running around be heading people. So I never know what is true or not.
  4. Q stands for questioning – someone who is questioning their sexual and/or gender orientation. Sometimes, the Q stands for “queer,” a term reclaimed by some LGBTs for political reasons. What people in these groups all have in common is that they challenge the heterosexist norms of mainstream society and are stigmatized as a result; otherwise, the LGBTQ community is very diverse with respect to ethnic and cultural backgrounds, physical ability, religion, personality traits, socioeconomic class, and many other attributes I had to look it up so this is the Q
  5. Today while driving by a Church (Congregational Church)I saw a rainbow flag that said ' God is still speaking' on the flag. I don't know if this is pro or against gay marriage. I didn't understand it. Has anyone seen this at a church before? perhaps it is not about gay marriage at all...I don't know.
  6. You sound like one really cool kid Logan!
  7. I can not speak for all yoga instruction but what I do is harmless and good for the body.I would get an unsettling feeling in my stomach if it were wrong or of a different spirit and I have never felt it is wrong to do these stretches... so what if a Hindu invented them. I do not know anything about Hindu gods and do not care to. I still do not think it matters if a Christian does the same type of exercise a non believer does. If Hindus use yoga to worship it has nothing to do with a Christian who does the stretches. My nice does bikram yoga in a yoga studio not in a church and she tells me it is just stretching and breathing in a 104 degree room no talk of spiritual stuff or gods.
  8. I don't understand this all or nothing attitude everyone has about yoga. The ancient Greeks invented the Olympics and many sports like boxing, discus and wrestling. They were not Christians and believed in many false gods...so should we not take up boxing or watch the Olympics? I just don't see how it is wrong to practice the posing and breathing in yoga if it is not tied into the Hindu aspect of it. What exactly do you all think will happen to you if you do a yoga pose? so what if Hindus invented it..... We probably use things everyday that were not invented by Christians.
  9. I disagree. I take a yoga class in the basement of a Baptist church and there is nothing spiritual about it. It is just stretching and breathing. It is called Yoga because we do Yoga poses. They have names for the poses but they are not named after Hindu gods or anything like that.It is harmless and I believe it is an excellent way to stay in shape. I am a long distance runner and the yoga helps me with my marathons. I am not young....I am 50 and this helps me to still be able to run. I am also strong in my faith and not easily lead by what others say...... so I do not think I am being naive in anyway to think that Yoga is harmful or makes me a bad witness to Christianity. Sorry I am not meaning to be disrespectful but I just think it is silly to be thinking there cannot be a non Hindu way to do Yoga...there is and I do it.
  10. God sent two Christians to me when I was a new Christian looking for a church. At the time I had gotten caught up in a very cult like church. God apparently had other plans for me and did not want me in this church....He uses us and I hope I can do the same for someone one day.
  11. I am a long distance runner and in the summer when it is hot I accidentally swallow bugs often! It is so gross! When it is really hot and I am having trouble breathing I will run with my mouth open and I can feel a bug get caught in my throat...I hope they don't have too many calories
  12. I wish they could speak... I would love to know what they have to say : )
  13. What on earth is an electromagnetic pulse? sorry for my ignorance, I have never heard of it
  14. I have to say that I agree with you...I see the point of everyone else on this... but I do think this is getting old...I am also not convinced that Muslims are going to be coming to the US to take over they way some believe on this site. There has been allot of talk about ISIS and what an awful government we have and how terrible our culture has become. I think that the Kingdom of God is with us and I think it is best to focus on his creation and the goodness within us and the world. This makes me a better witness than to come across as a fearful conspiracy believer.
  15. Count me in...its a great idea! I have been fasting and praying for this situation lately during this Lenten period.
