  1. The bible says we should have child like faith does it not? The first time I remember hearing the creation story and it actually making sense was when I was about three or four years old. I was reading Leading Little ones to God with my momma and I was just amazed. God created Adam and Eve perfect and sinless and they were able to walk with God in the garden in the cool of the day. I was so amazed that I cried. My momma asked me why I was crying and I said it was because I knew I would never have that chance until heaven. Did I believe that creation story was truth? You betcha!! Do I still believe it is? You betcha!!
  2. To be fair to the allegorists, science tells them that the universe is billions of years old whereas the bible implies it is only a few thousand years old. I don't see any way to prove science is wrong on this - though it does not mean science must be right - and therefore some try to reconcile the two by adopting non-literal interpretation. They are not being illogical. Does science say the universe is billions of years old? Or does it just say so because they are interpreting through their worldview? Science does not tell me the world is old. I might agree it is mature but whose to say God didn't create the earth mature? God created Adam and Eve fully mature didn't he? The frustrating thing is I can't even use the because some don't even believe Adam and Eve existed.
  3. It feels like they are all so wise in their own eyes. They banter back and forth and make fun of the Christians who are speaking truth to them. Even the Christians agree that it's allegorical. Not all but many. Especially if the believe in theist evolution. It also feels like Christians are losing their faith by being there. I must admit when they discuss science it is way over my head. When I read the bible, it gives no indication to me that it is anything but historical. Some people even say that the bible isn't Gods word because man wrote it and not God. It really baffle me. If you don't believe in the bible and that it is Gods inerrant word, how do you even know how to be a child of God. If you believe Adam and Eve are not real but just a allegorical story...well then what about original sin? It is so confusing.
  4. I was reading another forum and I have been so surprised by what I have read there. Why do some people honestly and sincerely believe that Genesis is allegorical rather than literal history? It makes no sense to me at all.
  5. That's great that God might use you to help another.
  6. I think God should be a King not a queen. Aslan was a male lion. This world is already confusing enough. Ever read the book The Shack? God was depicted as a woman in that book and it just felt disrespectful to me.
  7. Welcome. (Is it ok to respond to the post now that it appears he has 6 posts?). I'm still learning the rules myself.
  8. I was chatting with a friend the other day and I mentioned I tripped across a website online and I was appalled and so sad when I saw it. I quickly left and felt so upset. I never looked around too much to know but she later told me it was a satire website. My friend also said I was so naive to think it was a real website and everyone knew it was a satire and it was supposed to be seen as humorous. I don't think it's humorous at all. I think it's shameful and horrible. Please don't go to the website if you haven't heard of it...I'm not trying to offend. I just wondered if everyone had heard of it and what their opinion of it is. The website is called the Landover Baptist forum. I feel foolish that I thought it was real but I was so horrified thinking it was. After all. The Westboro baptist church is true and real. How are we supposed to know what websites are real or trustworthy. It's so discouraging. I'm very glad to know that the Landover one is not real because it is simply horrific. I'm still extremely sad that it's exists and people waste valuable time posting such horrible things.
  9. My dad has told me so often that technology has only served to make people more lonely. No one calls one another anymore, instead they text or email. No one sends a personal hand written letter anymore. Children don't learn cursive writing at school anymore. It's rather worrisome because many of our historical documents are all in cursive. One day no one will be able to read them. That's a very scary thought to me. Is history destined to repeat itself? Making friends on Facebook or Twitter isn't ideal. Often I think the relationships aren't as real because it is easier to pretend to be something you are not when hiding behind a screen. I can tell you I'm anyone and you have no way to prove otherwise. People even make fake acocunts of Facebook. I never knew that until my parents told me. I know it's hard sometimes to have face to face conversations and make friends but I think it's important to reach outside yourself and do your best. I'm dealing with something super hard for me right now....and it's made me feel like I can't talk to anyone face to face. It's very isolating and lonely. Do you have a church family? a Homelife group? miniflock or small group to be a part of? ( people that you can do life with?). I guarantee their are others who feel like you do. Please try to connect with someone who has skin and can give you a hug when you need it. Jesus loves you and he knows you need people to love on you. I will pray that he brings you someone in His perfect timing. God bless, Love Jenica
