That's not just evil . . . it's digusting! lol
-
I confess that when I saw the title of this thread I wondered if it was going to be one of those "_______ is evil and a real believer shouldn't partake." kind of thread. Aka, the "Christmas, Easter, etc. is Evil" threads of yore. lol "You shouldn't eat that, it's evil." "Fine, you don't want any?" "No." "Good. More for the rest of us. (Reduced demand might actually lower prices!) Now make yourself useful and pass that pizza cutter in front of you. Thanks!"

"Mom, the Domino's chariot is here!" -- some kid in Rome, probably. :)

So tempting, so: / joke mode on "There are those who remind me of some old sour Puritan types of old when I was a kid. You know the ones - they always looked like their faces would crack if they smiled. They seemed to have that unsettled feeling that someone, somewhere, somehow might be having a good time!" -unknown / joke mode off

In Louisiana they'll add, "Remember, the dead vote too!" -
5 Steps to Actually Achieve New Year’s Resolutions

Oh, there were guns in the mix here too. Plenty of auto fire going on too. AK-47s and AR15/M16s sound a bit different and I hope they were just shooting off blanks. -
5 Steps to Actually Achieve New Year’s Resolutions
walla299 replied to Vine Abider's topic in General Discussion
I stopped making new years resolutions years ago after realizing that Jesus has His own agenda. So I'll just go with that and ignore the whole thing which is much easier than ignoring what sounded like a war breaking out last night with all the illegal fireworks. -
Hmm . . . seems I'm a bit late to the usual Christmas thread that always shows up this time of year. So, I'll have a go: 1. Don't care about "Christmas" being part of old pagan festivals, etc. I don't celebrate those, and I don't particularly care for the pagan stuff either. The days of the week are named after pagan gods and no one has suggested changing those . . . 2. If you're going to celebrate Christmas - then make Christ the center of it. If you don't want to celebrate Christmas that's fine also - but make Christ the center of it! 3. We have freedom in Christ to celebrate Christmas or not . . . but we do not have the freedom to load someone else's conscience over something that is a personal conviction. This is a non-salvation issue. It is not something to divide or break fellowship over.

Fair enough. I wouldn't mind trying that "rich" part for paying off a few things, but they can keep that culinary abomination.

That sounds absolutely disgusting to begin with. Wouldn't touch it with a 10 meter pole.

Durian is not bad - but you do have to get past the smell. That's the reason you'll see warning signs banning it from hotel rooms all over Southeast Asia/Pacific rim. Better to just eat it outside.

How hot is it at 9:00 PM? (I think I'll have y-all beat!)

Left Prescott, AZ at around 9:30pm Saturday night and it was 74F though a bit humid due to some rain in the area. Prescott is at 5500 ft elevation and it can be 20 or more degrees cooler. Got back to Phoenix (1200 ft elevation) around 11:00pm and it was still 104F. Ugh. A few thousand feet can make a big difference! -

There's a joke here: Roofing School starts in July. My motivation to find something else: My Uncle's Ranch. Livestock, hay bales, manure piles, the "fun" just never stopped! Definitely motivated me to look at my career options.
