My real name is viole, on account of my father's love for J. Vance, I suppose.

I am a Swede who grew up in Kiruna, above the polar circle, have some Sami blood and moved to Switzerland. I am now both Swede and Swiss, so feel free to confuse the two countries with impunity. I am married with two kids, in their teenage now. All family members are atheists. I was the last one to join them, since I have been a Lutheran for most of my life.

i have been diagnosed with Asperger, a mild form of autism,  when I was 12. But that did not really influence my life in a negative way. On the contrary, it seems to have helped me in my Mathematical studies, since I seem to possess a natural ability to visualize things with my mind only. Especially complex manifolds in multidimensional space. Being able to think without the interference of emotions, is also a bonus of my condition. So, I consider my mild form of autism an asset, really. 

however, the cost of that is that I have problems interacting with other humans. I also have a reduced ability to read emotions or to realize when I am hurting somebody. I think I also generally lack empathy. Maybe that is the reason why I hate parties, and the physical proximity with crowds.

i also detest smalltalk. So, it is not uncommon that I just sit and say nothing the whole day when invited by people who can only talk of uninteresting things, like most people do. And my favorite animals are spiders. Currently, I have a spider in my room, whose name is Arabella.

To complete the picture: I vastly prefer cold and dark weathers, than warm and sunny ones. I miss Kiruna sometimes, and its winter night lasting a few weeks.

However, my husband is normal. An Italian, from Rome. I met him in Trieste where I was getting my degree in advanced physical studies. And that is why Italian is now the language I am most proficient with, followed by German and English, with the obvious exception of my Swedish mother tongue, which is still number one.

I graduated in Applied Mathematics with focus in Theoretical Physics and currently working as a postdoc on some research projects, beside my main occupation in the mathematical financial market in Switzerland. I specialised mainly in the area of General Relativity and Cosmology. I also did some work on Quantum Fields theory and Supersymmetry.

I am strong atheist. Meaning that I do not simply lack belief in God, but I actively believe that there is no God. I also believe that there are no souls, nor spiritual entities of any kind. I think the word for it is metaphysical naturalist.

I believe that the Universe is ruled by mechanical, unconscious and indifferent laws that are, by necessity, uncaring about us (and the rest) and lack any form of teleology and ultimate purpose. 

Nevertheless, I am interested in Philosophy and Metaphysics and the intersection it has with religious belief.

I am also a fan of Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Opeth and Juventus Turin.
