  1. French society is a bit unglued. Havent you seen news about all the riots there? In my husband's profession, and mine, there is a great shortage of workers nationwide. Cutting the workweek would exacerbate the shortage. And in todays inflationary society, I doubt the majority of the working public can afford to have their hours cut from a 40 hour workweek to a 32 hour workweek.
  2. There is a good chance that I am unique on this forum. My brother's wife was kidnapped by a serial killer, raped, shot twice in the head and left for dead by a serial rapist/killer. 14 years later my husband's brother was killed by his roommate. I know first hand what it is like to lose someone and nearly lose someone to murderers. When my sister in law was kidnapped, and later when my brother in law was murdered, I struggled to understand why. Why why why. Evil exists. We live in a fallen world. God could have chosen to wipe out all of mankind but He didnt. He provided for our salvation. This world is nothing but a brief stop. Our destination is not of this world, but of His realm. David in psalms cried out against the evil in this world too, but then he turned his eyes to the Lord and trusted in Him, in His ways. You should trust that the Lord knows best and will deal with this world and sinners in His time.
  3. You and your parents can stay at cabins and just pack what you need in a car. You can go fairly local for a weekend or so. Traveling is difficult these days with the price of gas. Getting a dog is nice too but I would not recommend a puppy, especially not a high maintenance one. Someone gave my parents a puppy recently and dad gave her to me. She is sweet and cute but sooo much trouble. She has swallowed a couple of moms pills already. If you have a lot of pills and sometimes drop them, a puppy is more likely to get into them and require either vet care or die. You said you are not well enough to travel by yourself. Does that mean you are not well enough to take care of a puppy with all the special needs puppies have? Since I am on your ignore list, Im hoping someone will give you similar advice.
  4. Sadly those using drugs are not the only victims. Two family members died at the hands of meth addicts.
  5. I havent told this story in decades until this past week. I think its time I did so again. When I was first saved, at 30 years old, I worked in a hospital pharmacy. Per law, the pharmacy was locked. The only way to get in was if you were pharmacy staff or a staff member let you in. The door was heavy and made a loud buzzing sound when opened. There was no way to sneak in. One night, I was alone in the pharmacy, with a pharmacist in the small iv room that connected to the pharmacy. I turned around and saw an old man in a hospital gown. He looked at me and walked behind some shelves. I walked over to the shelves and he was gone. There was no way he could have gotten out without me seeing. No way he could have gotten in to start with. I walked to the iv room and asked the pharmacist, who was gowned, and sterile and working on a complicated iv if she let him in. She said oh you must have seen the resident ghost. I was a brand new Christian and told this story for a few years. I spoke of this more than I did of Christ. It greatly diminished my witness and I know now that it was a demon. Not a lost human soul. I fear this is causing harm to your walk with the Lord and causing harm to your witness of Jesus and the gospel. Ghosts are demons and not to be messed with. Dont place an emphasis on them. Give glory to the Lord, not to ghosts/demons.
  6. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 38-39 I read an article about Mother Teresa and the absence of His presence that she felt for years. She expressed in letters things I routinely hear from others. How they dont experience the Lord. How they dont hear Him. How they cant feel Him. They wonder, as she did, is He real? There is a difference that I see. For too many today, feeling that spiritual drought often causes them to turn away from Him. To claim He isnt real. Or worse, to claim He doesnt deserve their adoration because they dont hear from Him. Mother Teresa clung to Him even in her emptiness. She said “I want to love Jesus as he has never been loved before.” She also said “I accept not in my feelings - but with my will, the Will of God - I accept His will.” Even in her darkness when He seemed so far away, she placed Him first in her life. His wants, His will, before her own. David in the bible often felt the same. He expressed his sense of abandonment in the Psalms. How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? Psalm 13:1 Yet he continued to cling to the Lord. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 13: 5-6 That is a lesson we could all benefit from.
  7. I was recently reminded that I have a blog here that I have neglected. Life got in the way and I forgot. Ok I will try again. I dont know that I have much to say. Life is crazy these days. My husband thinks Jesus is returning soon. Perhaps. I dont know how it is in other parts of the world, but in the us food is so expensive now. It is starting to fit this verse Rev 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. I dont think we are in the tribulation but it does seem like food is being priced above what people can afford. Hopefully I can set up a garden this spring. Too bad Im not allowed to have chickens. Fresh eggs would be great.
  8. Been watching this all day. Dear china please send all balloons to washington dc. Biden wont mind.
  9. Jude 2? My bible only has 1 chapter.
  10. Deeds do not save us. Deeds are the result of salvation, not the cause of it.
  11. Just because the belief was accepted does not mean its true. Folks back then also believed in false gods and other false things.
  12. What font is this? It is similar to another one I like, that may not be on here, called josefin sans
  13. It depends on whether or not you want everyone to read your posts. Some people have vision constraints.
  14. Im with you. Hard for some folks to read.
  15. Those verses dont support the notion of ghosts being souls of dead humans.
  16. Please support this with scripture. There is nothing in the bible that i see that supports souls who were not evil wandering the earth. It may sound good but it isnt scriptural.
  17. It got turned on for everyone. I personally dont care for it.
  18. I am a bit confused on your meaning here. Are you saying Jesus is not part of the Godhead, not part of the Trinity of God? Do you believe He is a created being?
  19. Words you agreed to keep family friendly on this forum when you signed up. Something seems to be distressing you lately, as seen from your posting. What is going on? Talk to us, in private if not on the open forum.
  20. Here is chapter 1 of the Song of Solomon in the esv and nkjv versions on biblegateway. They clearly show who is talking. Hope this helps. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Song of Solomon 1&version=ESV https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Song+of+Solomon+1&version=NKJV
  21. Life on this earth is insignificant to being forgiven and being with the Lord. Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. His mercy is that He has chosen to save those of us who believe in Jesus. We are not promised an easy life, or a life without suffering. We are promised eternal life with Him. So you see, the Lord is saving lives, through redemption in Christ.
  22. At the time of the king james translation, unicorns had long been considered a symbol of purity and strength rather than a real animal. That is why the translators then had chosen that word.
  23. Go to regular sites like jc penneys. If you look at something there it will tell you the fabric content. I have worn only cotton for decades now. I have found cotton in regular stores and online without having to find specialty places.
