I like Dr. Lamsa's Middle East Text the Peshita from the original Aramaic. It is light to semantics and idioms. I also like the KJV which is melodious and is easy to memorize. I also like the Sacred name bible of the Rotherham version revised. They use Yahwah instead of Yahweh. My favorite is the Sacred Scriptures of Assembly of Yahweh from Bethel, PA, USA. It is the sacred name restored a very crisp, concise translation. You can understand what you are reading for yourself. Blessings

Patriotism is wanting a KING other than Yahweh the creator. The Israelites wanted a King to be like other nations. Samuel was upset but Yahweh told Samuel they are rejecting me not you. A lot of people are not aware that the spirit of Patriotism started in Germany with Hitler. The people were swept into it... pride in their country, pride to be self sufficient, pride to put their trust in the arm of the flesh rather than the deliverance of the Lord Almighty. Patriotism must be balanced otherwise people unknowingly follow the spirit of the God of War, which is mentioned as the AntiChrist worshipping and getting the world to worship. Before the Messiah Yahsua people came to Yahweh in faith, believing the covenant promise he made with Israel and all outsiders who joined themselves to the nation Israel. For before there was Jews there was Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was a covenant made of faith and mankind believing in the promises of Elohim. He kept his word and mankind followed and believed in Him. Eventually mankind broke the law and kept breaking it because of our sinful nature, so Yahweh promised to send the Messiah to reconcile mankind back to him. HI TJ. I know the word does say " in our weaknesses is his strength". None of us get it the first time, why we are forgiven 70 x 7 which means it will take us quite a few trys. Don't be so hard on yourself. Yahweh knows we are weak and he loves us anyways, he called us while we were yet sinners. So he knows us, our humanity, our struggles, our weaknesses. Give them to him. I have learned to humble myself before him and say, Father help me with this for i am powerless over it, please take it away from me. Then i thank him in faith for the end result, the answer to my prayers. Just like the man that asked Yahshua to deliver his son of being thrown into the fire. Yahshua said do you believe, he said, "i believe, help my unbelief". That is an honest prayer. I will pray for you to get better. Holy Scripture does say not to be unequally yoked for it will be difficult especially if you have children. You will not be able to instruct them in the ways of the Lord for you will be the wife. Mostly Muslim men rule the spirituality in the house. To marry a Muslim you must make a vow publicly. This might even give the appearance of denying your faith in Yahshua to do so if in a muslim community. The word also says that if a couple is married and one becomes a believer you have the choice to divorce or to stay with the unbeliever. If you stay with them then by your example you can lead them to the Lord. None of us has the right to judge to say yeah or nay for it is a matter of the heart. I can only say pray for wisdom and guidance what the Father wants for you, not what you want. Blessings

Yes a Christian can be an alcoholic. As long as we are in this flesh we will struggle in the flesh. Look at Noah, did he not get drunk? Did that negate his covenant with Yahweh? No it did not. Many people drink and some to excess. Many people eat to excess, etc. We are our brother's keeper and when we help each other out we lift each other up and build one another and strengthen each other with exhortations, encouragements. AA was initially started as a Christian group from the Oxford Group to get people to pray to GOD to help them. Now it is a god of ones own understanding. That contradicts Proverbs 3:5-7; lean not unto thine own understanding. It is good for like minded people yet nothing can substitute the Living Word of Yahweh that sets the captive free. There is hope for all of us while on this earth, and in this flesh. Why? Cause it is not based on us it is the gift of Grace and Mercy that we rely upon to help us be more than conquerers. Did not Yahshua say if thy brother sin against thee how many times shall you forgive him? And he said 70 x 7... endless... if he said this then he knew we would never be perfect in this life. I certainly can appreciate this post. Thank you for it! When we first came to Yahshua and were born again we felt the peace and love of following him. Then when we stopped spending time at his feet and slowly got more involved in knowledge we got pulled away into too much learning. I find that a lot of people are so worried and concerned about the evil in the world and the doom and gloom that goes with it. It harms the body, undue stress, it overwhelms the mind. To live outside this minute is to try to live in the future which causes anxiety. And when this happens it causes fear, doubt. Our minds get confused. I find it best to live by Proverbs 3:5-7. This really puts it as we rely upon Yahweh and not our own understanding. Many really get sidetracked that they forget we are in the world but not of it. So get yourself some wonderful praise and worship music and stir up the spirit within your inner man. Strengthen that which remains. You see i am guilty of this, i think it is about me and it is all about Him. I have to daily surrender my will and die to self in him. Believers have no rights, NONE, we have fellowship, sonship, but we do not demand of Elohim anything. We humbly thank Him for everything, good and bad which means gratitude. To be content with much and with little, to praise Him in all things. We have to develope the attitude of gratitude... I find that reading the psalms helps me greatly. Did not Messiah Yahshua tell us to read the prophets and the Psalms? For they testified of him? There really is no need to be so hard on yourself, for all our righteous is as filthy rags. So Praise Yahweh that He loves us enough to call us to Himself, to save us from ourselves and to restore us to him in the fullness of Messiah. I find to pick myself up is not by any of my best efforts for Elohim inhabits the praises of his people. Praise Him regardless of feelings and you will find the peace that you are so looking for... Blessings to you Awab. It is wonderful when the Father draws you to himself, for daily HE adds to the Body of Christ, the Church body. I know you live in a difficult circumstances. Worship in your heart and ask the Father's direction by the Ruach Kodesh, Holy Spirit. He will direct you as to what to do and not to do while living in a muslim country. We understand that we are all the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We are children through the Covenant of Promise that Yahweh made to those in faith who accept believe and follow him.
