  3. Hi Last Daze, I agree with you but, Actually Paul is speaking about the end times here, which is the subject matter he is addressing concerning the rapture and resurrection of the saints So I am not saying the USA id the restrainer per say. Nor am I saying that they are the restrainer at all. But I read a pretty interesting article from I really cant remember where (that is food for thought) The Lord is using the USA as a restraining force preventing the enemy from attacking Israel and when the USA withdraws from the middle east which they are always talking about, that this is indeed what will happen. Is it fact? I do not know as the bible really isn't specific on it. Some think its God Himself while others think it is a human government, its really not clear, although it is when this restrainer is taken out of the way that the antichrist will be revealed
  4. Some think the restrainer is actually the USA
  5. Actually I believe that allah translated simply means god, However I agree that that they do not pray to the creator God and do not know who Jesus really is, they believe he was a minor prophet and will appear with Muhammed.I dont know if they are praying to satan in particular , but they are definately praying to a brass heaven and that satan is behind the deception
  6. I dont know why my post havent stayed on but again I I believe the Anti-Christ will come out of Iran
  7. Actually "Denominations" have been a problem from at least in Pauls days and Paul addresses it in 1 Cor 10-17 VS 12 "Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; I of Apollos; I of Cephas; and I of Christ VS 13 Is Christ divided?....................... Denominations are pretty much following the teachings of men which seperate us from the teachings of Christ and Him crucified. Its really nothing new.
  8. I guess that about says it. Amen Neb, The rapture and the return of our Lord are two different events, Just as the great tribulation and the pouring out of Gods wrath are 2 different events. However when we meet the lord in the air is well after the anti-Christ appears and we are towards the end of the tribulation period when we meet THe Lord in the air. The key word is we meet Him in the air. During this time while we are athe wedding and the feast.........Gods wrath is poured out upon the earth................Most people confuse the great tribulation as the same thing as God pouring out His wrath upon mankind, when the tribulation is actually a sign and a warning to mankind that He is about to return ( To the believers it is a sign of our transformation to be takin up with Him to all others it is a sign of Gods wrath and his soon to be return) When Jesus returns, We will be with Him to set up his kindom and rule with Him for 1,000 years. Jesus said that while in the world we will experience tribulation, but we are not the subjects of Gods wrath, there is an important difference This was a very good question by the origional poster and one that should be studied in depth by all. God bless kevin
  9. Thats interesting....................whre in the Quran do you find this? An interesting site that talks on this subjet is found in "America and Israel in bible prophecy" http://www.americaisraelprophecy.com/index.html Then click on Islam and the beast, some very good stuff here. God bless kevin
  10. King James.....New American Standard.....Good News (Thats right, I said it )
  11. Ummm . . . yes they are. Jews and Judaism may go hand in hand, but they are not one and the same. When I look at Israel....the "Jews' that the article refers to, they are hardly one race. I see blond, blue eyed Russians, Africans from Ethiopia, all kinds of American born Jews and olive skinned Arabs who happen to be Jewish. So how are you considering the Jews a race? The original people or....? How could Obama be a 'racist' toward Israel? Which race is he discriminating against? And why is it different this go 'round? There's nothing new here. Well for one.when you consider that all of the skin tones are in the Jewish race is because it is believed that Adam and Eve were brown skinned. It is believed that brown skin pigmentation is the only color that can produce "white" "black" "Yellow" etc... You see this in many races."Italians" "Puetro Ricans" "Mexicans" "Coloumbians" etc............. You are right that many "Races" convert to Judaism, but this does not negate that many "Blood" Jews are light and some dark skinned. This argument holds no water
  12. I am with you on this one. This is a false hope.
  13. A year ago I would have said yes, but now I have to say no. I believe the names that are to be blotted out are blotted out on the day of Judgment. Revelation 20 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. If you'll notice...."Books" are opened, and then the Book of Life is opened. The dead are judged according to what's written in the "Books". From what I understand, the only thing written in the Book of Life is names. ( if I'm wrong, somebody correct me.......gently ) So common sense will tell you that no one will be judged by anything written in the Book of Life. (other than where they're going to spend eternity) This is probably nothing new, but it's new to me. Thanks man. This is my thoughts as well. I also think the Book of Life is an absolute record of our destiny. This takes place in the second resurrection and will not include those whom have been born again and participate in the first resurrection. When we receive Christ, we have already been judged and Christ paid for our penalty. The resurrection of the saints and the resurrection to judgment are 2 different events.
  14. My thoughts on this are that everyone who has been born is in the book of life and everyone that has been born again is in the lambs book of life.
  15. The Holy Spirit is the agent of salvation. The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ and places us in Chrsit and the Holy Spirit fulfills the righteousness of the law within us. Any time that salvation takes place, it is the Holy Spirit who serves as the agent of salvation. Actually, it exactly means that the Holy Spirit saved them. You are trying to parse words, but the Holy Spirit does not fall on unbelievers. He falls or descends upon those who believe. It is not a far fetched example. What about someone who is in the hospital, near death and receives the gospel, but due to hooked up to machines and other things is unable to be taken to a baptismal or in any way immersed in water? What about someone who gets saved in an airplane but does not have access to water and the plane crashes and all of the people on board die? Those are real-life scenarios. I would also posit, this: What about someone who was baptized in a Baptist church that does not believe baptism is necessary for salvation; does their baptism count, or does it have to be performed in a church expressly for the purpose of being saved? Guess I replied too soon, seem Shiloh already brought my example to the boards, and far better than I.
  16. I never said that the Holy Spirit saved them; I asked if the Holy Spirit came upon a person before or after salvation. and I agree that the passage you gave holds the key...Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way When does the Spirit come? After, according to the passage you gave. if that is the case, then they were saved prior to salvation. far fetched examples or not, what is your answer to the question? is the person saved or lost? as far as you have never witnessed this to happen, there are great many things I am sure you have not seen first hand that are still real. This really inst that far fetched (Well maybe the getting hit by a car is) but there are many people who receive Christ on their deathbed without receiving water baptism
  17. Here is a really good site on the subject called Comparing Radical Islam to the Beast http://www.americaisraelprophecy.com/comparingislam-beast.html Its a little long, but well worth the read.
  18. I dont think it is longer hours that are needed, but to put God back in our schools would most defiantely improve the curriculum
  19. One thing you must understand is that Jesus is God and the creator. He was in the beginning, He was there when we were created and to say that why weren't we created like Jesus, for one Jesus wasn't created He was in fact the creator. He took on the form of human flesh in order to become the perfect sacrifice for us. As someone has mentioned we were made in His image and were perfect until our rebellion, but through His sacrifice we are once more perfect and will realize this when we depart from this body. So we are made in the image of God, in the Image of Jesus.
  20. Hello Brothers and Sisters, Its been a while since I have actually posted anything, I have been content to pop in every once in a while a read the forums. However, I have read a thread recently about the subject of the church promoting adultry on these boards which have since been closed because of bickering. I do not wish to continue that thread but to give a different perspective on the issue of marriage and divorce in particular. I have been a long time fan of Don Francisico and on his website he addresses this very subject and since his wisdom on the subject far exceeds mine, I would like to quote from Don Francisco' "Rocky Mountain Ministries" that beautifully ilistrate answers to some questions. Does God Hate Divorce? Is Divorce A Sin? Is Re-Marriage Adultry? Jeremiah 3:8 "Lo I had put her out and given her a certificate of divorce"...He is speaking of Israel. Notice as Don quotes above that God put her ( Israel) out and also had given her a certificate of divorce. I thought this was a very good explanation of divorce from a scriptural viewpoint. Because saddly today, many peoples view of divorce equates with with the unpardonable sin. In Jesus kevin
  21. John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: Good examples, here are scriptural verses to back you up. Even though we are many as individuals, Christ says that we are one in Him and the Father as Christ also mentions that He and the Father are individuals "We" and yet says They are one as we are also one in Them.
  22. Hi Larry, I dont want to hijack this thread and go off in another direction other than Shiloh had intended, however I would like to address a few things that you have posted and then if you'd like you can open another thread and send me a PM and link and we'll see where it goes from there. Not sort of, they are. Rev 14 4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. I am a little unclear on this event as of yet but am asking God for revelation to the event, however there is a guy whom I greatly respect his insight by the name of Tommy Spurgeon who seems to see it in the same light as yourself and here is a small part of what he has to say:
  23. Actually it is not tha 144,000 that preach the gospel to the world, these are dedicated to Israel are of the tribes of Israel but it is the angels who preach to the world the gospel. Revelation 14 1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. 6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. I personally dont believe that only a 144,000 will be saved (these will have a special blessing for sure) but all of Israel will be saved, not spiritual Israel but literal Israel as promised to Abraham. In Romans which you quoted above Paul is merely saying dont rely upon the name Jew or the law for salvation but upon Him (Jesus) who is the fulfillment of the law, the true Jew, the true Israelite. God will in these last days open the eyes of Israel which He Himself has shut in fulfillment of His promise to Abraham. He is speaking to the Jews and is turning thier eyes and understanding toward thier God instead of toward thier birthright as thier salvation, not that it was ever any other way. In Jesus kevin
