  1. I hope you also read the following and the many others like it. Isaiah 46:8 “Remember this, keep it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. 9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’
  2. I think people as a whole want an alternative to the current status quo. What's yours ?.
  3. So you post an article. Did you check who the people are, who commented in the article. Who is Reza Aslan ?. A lot of people form their theology from a mindset that they have formed from whatever conceived ideas they have aquired. So, they have a picture and look for things that supports their thinking. Nothing wrong with that, except in the case of a Christian, it must line up with the biblical word. Well to be honest, even people who hold to different interpretation of certain bible text, form theirs and it shows by the number of denominations that has differnent views. So, you can't put all your eggs in one basket and say a few who quote this and that, are really the whole. 1 Samuel 8 And Samuel prayed to the Lord. 7 And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them.
  4. You also said the above. Take a poll or qutoe a poll, then you may have more validation to what you seem to be implying.
  5. Popular quote, see if you can complete the statement. The blind follow the --- Just being sacarstic of course, but this is what those who say things without good reason or research do.
  6. For now . The next couple of generations might change the landscape, so to speak. All the demands that, they be addressed by certain terms and equality of outcome vs equality of oppertunity will all come to friction head. We already see the future leaders thoughts and behaviour, well at least they have the upper hand for now anyway. All the progress humans have made in the development of what supposed to be a better social society has proven that the human mind is still not understood as thought of in higher learning. The verse below IMO is why the OP topic cannot be achieved. The carnal man wants his utopia now, while the Christian man thinks of his in eternity and thinks his morality practiced now is mandatory as a part of his journey to take him there. 1 Corinthians 2 English Standard Version 14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
  7. Well, you do have a choice . Democracy or The Gulag Archipelago , cause westen democracy is heading down that way with the current status quo.
  8. Do the Christian body value the testimony of our national sportsmen, especially from the huge NBA sports world, and should more of our young people use the platform for testimony ?. Here is one young man and rising star of the NBA , use the platform for making statement of Jesus return. This is very rear, and I only know of two others who mentions the name of Jesus in their after game brief interviews. I know this has to be approved, but the moderators will do their job. I hit the button by accident, so I will be back to post the link.
  9. O DOD Toggle Members Info I started a thread on a topic , that is very similar to yours back in 2018. Below is a reply that one person posted that I find was enlighting and forthright. I don't know how to bring post from past threads into present ones, so I will get the title of the topic and post it here in edit form, so anyone can read through it. This was the topic : I Often read of "God Told Me" Posted December 28, 2018 This is a very interesting topic of conversation. I have also seen those who say that 'God spoke to them...' and I am usually very cautious when listening to their message. I believe that God spoke to the prophets with a voice and called them to do His work. His voice was audible. Christ appeared to Paul in a vision and spoke to Him. God also spoke to Joseph in a dream, telling him about baby Jesus. So according to the Bible, God does talk to us in different ways. I do not judge these ones who say that God spoke to them, because I do not know, however we can tell if what they are speaking is truth based on the Gospel. Personally, I know that Christ communicates with us in many ways. I have been attacked by demonic forces that I did not understand and it made me very angry that I was attacked in that way and had no means by wish to defend myself. I did call on Jesus to save me and He did. I have been attacked several times in the spiritual battle we wage against the Gates of Hell, and have had victory with Christ on all attacks. I also had many lessons to learn before I got my prayers answered. I discovered what the 'Sword of the Spirit' really means and how it actually works, because I had to use mine to destroy my enemy. I also learned what it means when the word says 'when I am weak, I am strong'. I had to learn several things, and it was done through spiritual experience, while I was sleeping. I have also had prayers answered in my daily life... all the time. Having said that, I was so angry that I wanted to see the things that are hidden; I wanted to know what was going on and why me? I decided I was going to pray everyday asking Christ to show me the hidden things until He did... I was not going to stop. I was thinking of the constant knocking on the door, and He did open and showed me many things. I prayed for twenty-one days, and then He showed me things... incredible things. There are a lot of wonderful things happening in the Body of Christ today, and I also believe that there are those who are dreaming dreams and some are indeed prophesying. I will say, you should listen to the message to see if it is from God, and if you are a Christian with a discerning mind, you will see what is truly in their hearts and if their message is really from God or not. The Lord works in mysterious ways... who can know the workings of God. I will also say this: when I received my answers from Christ Jesus, He also showed me many things, things that you would cause you to wonder. Wonderful, astonishing things. The words of Scripture comes to life in your dream-visions, and you are the one in the middle. P.S. I have never heard an audible voice, but I do know He communicates with His Flock. I will stop now. Peace and Love. M.
  10. Exactly. There were men who were burned at the stake for standing for the truth of the gospel and not reliquishing their covenant beliefs, even in those centuries. Christianity can have a broad meaning to many, as some think if one is born into a Christian family he is a Christian. This begs now for the definition of " A Christian". "a person who exemplifies in their life the teachings of Christ".
  11. Amen. Every testimony to the victory over that horrible addiction is an encouragement to others. Be on your guard though, cause, satan is a cunning foe, always looking for ways to draw the old man back into his camp, therefore put on the full armor of God and keep it on. Ephesians 6.
  12. Thomas Brooks wrote an excellent book on satan devices titled "Precious Remedies Against Satan Devices ". written in the 1600, it can be downloaded in pdf format and others from the net. An excerpt from part of the introduction of the book below. IX. By presenting to the soul the crosses, losses, sorrows and sufferings that daily attend those who walk in the ways of holiness: For remedies, consider that 1) all afflictions suffered by Christians turn to their profit 2) all such afflictions only reach their worst, not their best, part 3) all such afflictions are short and momentary 4) all such afflictions proceed from God's dearest love 5) it is our duty and glory to measure afflictions not by the smart but by the end 6) God's design in saints' afflictions is to try, not to ruin, their souls 7) the afflictions, wrath and misery consequent upon wickedness are far worse than those linked with holiness
  13. While your sharing of what you received and were reviled ect, is observed, we also have to remember that we have different levels of maturity with believers. Some maybe babes drinking milk, while others eating meat and still trying to process the mystryies of the things written about the end times. They can do a couple of things, keep the thoughs to themselves, or compare what others have come to so call decode or unravel in their own minds or however . The object though, the book or Revelation and others are in the word that we read every day. The human side of man will always be intrigued by its content and then the pursuit will follow. He, will have to come to terms, wheather he has gone down the rabbit hole and listen to wise consel or thinks that he has it mostly figured out. Yes, we have to stay on the straight and narrow path and keep reminding ourselves that we have an enemy that strives to bring choas, discord and confusion. Each believer though has to find and navigate his way to the celestial city and avoid the pitfalls that is set before him. The scripture verses you qutoed are all vaid as to keeping focus on the things above. The human mind is still curious about the what is written in the biblical books that tells of events to come.
  14. A puzzle with a beautiful picture on box, with the contents full of thousands of pieces of that same objects is facinating to those who love puzzles. As those who read the parts of the bible that contains things pertating to eschatology, it triggers the investigative part of the human mind. They devote part of their time to research history and includes studying and reading varied historians, about events recorded in the past. This is not for everyone ,as most don't have that deep inquisitive mind and time to do the necessary research and come back with their thoughts and we might say speculations. The bible contains the books about events that would take place in the future that are linked to each other in ways that the normal bible reader either ignores or find is too difficult to decipher or interpret. So, he is at Worthy and reads pages of written words about a topic that intrest him. He might skim through it or try and look into some that is written to get some kind of understanding as to current events as he look around the state of the world today. The OP opinion is what is his and we can agree or disagree. Believers personal spiritual expereinces, which are unique to him in regards to the spirit world , may or would draw him to hear what others may have to say, just as a bible student or personal wellbeing as to his life in general. But the OP point is taken and eveyone to his own on how he should view these discussions.
  15. You just plot or follow a teaching that is vague. When asked to explain your written statement, you provide vague answers, that requires to ask more questions. You always answer with one liner or quote scripture that can vary as to their meaning. No more attention to you and your so called pearls.
