  1. Thank you. She will forever be in my heart. She is with Jesus now.
  2. Thank you. I am very sorry for your loss. I, too, have no words.
  3. Thank you. My profile picture is my youngest daughter, Jacie Lynne. She was a member here until she was killed in a car accident on April 19 of this year. She was 24 years old.
  4. There were more than a few who never made it home. There have been thousands of troops who never were able to walk on American soil after they left for deployment.
  5. I, as well as thousands of Americans, celebrate America's Independence on July 4. Always have, always will. No one will ever change that. The Continental Congress approved the final wording of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. They'd been working on it for a couple of days after the draft was submitted on July 2nd and finally agreed on all of the edits and changes. July 4, 1776, became the date that was included on the Declaration of Independence, and the fancy handwritten copy that was signed in August (the copy now displayed at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.) It’s also the date that was printed on the Dunlap Broadsides, the original printed copies of the Declaration that were circulated throughout the new nation. So when people thought of the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776 was the date they remembered.
  6. I saw the eclipse in 1979. They are correct in saying that you should never look directly at an eclipse. I couldn't see anything for about 10 minutes after I did it. I should have known better, I was 19 at the time.
  7. I was having a rough morning of it until I logged in and saw this. You brought tears of happiness and laughter to my eyes. Jacie would have loved to see the friendship take off the way it has. I just polished off my 4th cup of coffee and went for some chocolate milk. Now I've got a healthy caffeine buzz and a glass of chocolate milk. Good breakfast. I love you Kwik, thank you for being such a wonderful friend.
  8. I haven't tried it, but thanks for the idea. I've already had my 3rd cup of the day...good start.
  9. I have her DVD of MercyMe that she brought with her when she came here. I listen to it so much. My nickname for her was "Young One." Even at her age, she still liked it when I called her that. I know she is filled with so much joy right now. Yes, Praise Jesus!
  10. That's very disturbing. The guy is obviously delusional.
  11. WD-40 is almost too thin to stay in the threads. It will drip down too quickly. I've used liquid Wrench, let it saturate for a couple hours, then use a vise grips.
  12. Thank you Angels, this means so much to me.
  13. “Life and physical health,” the Church teaches, “are precious gifts entrusted to us by God. We must take reasonable care of them, taking into account the needs of others and the common good” (Catechism, no. 2288). Prudence dictates that persons considering tattoos or body piercing research any health risks that may be involved. If a particular act of tattooing or body piercing entails a likely risk to health, it would be more or less sinful depending upon the gravity of the risk. If a particular act involves mutilation—if the act renders a bodily organ unable to perform its function—the act is immoral (Catechism, no. 2297).
