Everyone is entitled to their musical tastes. I like contemporary Christian music to a point. The rollover rap style stuff isn't something I like. There's even a grunge style Christian music I've heard is out there. I don't look for that because I can't stand grunge noise. Anyway, I'm new and that's what I think. Welcome to you too.

The stoning part doesn't apply because that was the punishment during the time of the Jews in the Old Testament. The slavery part isn't like what we think of in American slavery history. It was an indentured servant type thing. Someone owed a debt they agreed to be a servant to the one that loaned them assistance. Besides all that, you can look those things up on the net if you really want to understand. Christians are in the New Testament. Stoning and indentured servant positions don't apply anymore. Maybe read the New Testament or a short synopsis of what Jesus came to do in the world and that will help you. I'm new too . Welcome to you.

I think if you're new to Christianity you don't know enough yet. Why don't you just stick with the teaching Jesus came to bring the world? He was promised to come in the Old Testament and he did arrive and that's what made for the New Testament teaching what he said. New Age stuff is hokum. Why mess with the real thing? Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. That's the truth. Not blending New Age stuff in with his word. He was God for goodness sake.
