Blood Bought 1953

Repentance comes from the Greek word “ metanoia”.Litterally, a change of mind.If one does not believe that Jesus was God in the Flesh, whose death ,burial and resurrection purchased their salvation, and then has a change of mind where he realizes that Jesus was in fact Who He said He was——the saving repentance that God demands has taken place.God ,as explained by Paul, gave those commandments to show you that you can’t keep them— we need a Savior.That “ standard” you point out is perfection.Only a fool would go down that road.The standard is impossible to obtain.Why not take another road for your salvation. One given by God That can actually be realized by sinful men.As an added bonus it is also Biblical.Simply believe Christ died for your sins and rose from the grave.Do that and God will put His Spirit in you and then HE will attend to all that stuff you are worried about.Rest in what Jesus accomplished for our sake and then see what He can accomplish in your life.IF you trust Him. l

“ Squaw of sinners” three words that have never been uttered since the beginning of time.....I love it! I’ll have to run that by my wife when she gets up. As I travel this road of faith I feel like I get closer and closer to God as time goes by.The closer we get to God,the farther away we should see ourselves.Sensing one’s self as a serious sinner is a positive thing.It’not only a mark of humility—-It’s the Truth.Whether one has been saved 5 years or 50 years, we STILL need all the Grace we can get.

I think you do not understand salvation.You are concerned that there is a requirement that you “ do” something and you are not doing enough.With this burden you are placing upon yourself, it is small wonder that you procrastinate and chicken out .You think you have to measure up in order to keep your salvation.That is indeed a scary way to live.Your view of working harder to be or stay saved is not the way to go.Why not try it God’s way? Believe Jesus died for ALL of your sins and rose from the dead after three days.That is the Gospel thAt saves. NO working for it. Just BELIEVE it. And then REST in it.God wants your faith- not your works.If you stand before God,trusting in your works,it’s going to be very bad for you.Trust in the finished work that was done FOR YOU at the Cross for your salvation .Get that damnable load you think you have to carry off your back.Jesus said, “ My yoke is easy”.Stop this works mentality lest you hear “ depart from me, I never knew you.FAITH IN CHRIST plus nothing.

Commandment keeping is great......it just doesn’t save.Faith plus nothing does.

What must I do to get into Heaven? I have a young daughter who asks me the same thing.This is what I tell her.Its a simple little thing that is easy for young “ and” old to remember.Believing the following ten words will get you saved forever.If we let one one finger on each hand represent one word it goes like this: These are the five words for one hand—“ Jesus died for my sins.” On the other hand, using each finger to stand for the remaining five words—“Jesus rose from the dead”. Yeah , I know it’s corny, but kids seem to like it and it is something they can remember and carry with them the rest of their lives.Now , for the rest of their lives they can show others in a simple, easy-to-remember way, how they know they are forever saved.The Gospel in a nutshell— Jesus promised this using Paul as His spokesman and all we have to do is believe it and never add anything to it. An adult version of this little game can be found in 1cor15:1-4.

No desire to argue here.I just don’t want Newbies to think they can obtain the impossible standard that Jesus set in order to justify themselves before God. The standard Jesus set was the Law on steroids.Peter and Paul declared that the Law was an impossible system , a method for salvation that they,nor their fathers could obey.If one can not keep the Commandments which say “ thou shalt not commit adultery” How on earth could one keep the standard that Jesus commanded— don’t even have a lustful thought, lest you be as guilty of adultery.I would hate to see Newbies delude themselves with pride, making the mistake that they can lead a life of sinless perfection.I hope we are on the same page.

Sorry to hear that Jesus put the bar to high for you. But glad to hear your doing it God’s way though If my way is God’s Way ,faith in what Jesus accomplished at the Cross......what is YOUR way? Jesus set the bar too high for a good reason.He wants us to see we can’t be justified before a Holy God by human merit.We must turn to our Savior.Do you really think that Jesus wants us to pluck out our eyes rather than lust?You and I and every other man would be blind. Perhaps He was making the point that I just spoke of.Our performance is filthy rags before God.Jesus performance that enabled Him to be the perfect Sacrifice on our behalf and save us from an eternity in Hell is the basis of our worshipping Him.If we can be perfect, Jesus died for no reason.Those on Judgement Day trying to make it in because they think they lived “ good enough” or even “ perfect” will be hearing very bad news.

“ Nothing they do counts as sin”......Untrue......it’s still sin,it’s just sin that has been payed for.

Jesus set that bar way to high for me......if only there were another way....I just don’t have enough eyes to pluck out every time I lust.....I think I’ll have to resort to doing it God’s way-faith in His Son

That “ no more sacrifice for sins” thing is out of context.Text without context is error.The writer of Hebrews was talking to fence- sitting Jews who wanted to go back to offering sacrifices at the Temple.There was no more sacrifices to be made .It was a waste of time.Jesus gave Himself once for the only Sacrifice needed to satisfy God.To feel the need for a Sacrifice on top of what Jesus accomplished at the Cross is trampling the Blood Of Christ,treating it as useless.

Obedience is great —- just as long as one realizes it does not save.Believe the Gospel.Get the Holy Spirit in you and you will “ find” yourself becoming more obedient.God gets all the credit that way .

Anybody today, in this Age of Grace, if they want to do what Jesus said will follow Paul.....those are our latest marching orders— Follow Paul as he follows Christ.Jesus told Paul to tell us how to be saved.Believe Jesus died for your sins and believe He rose from the dead. 1Cor15:1-4. Believe it and don’t add to it lest you be “ accursed”.

God is still in the vision-giving business.Trust me, I know.Beyond description.Too sacred to show off about it.My wife is the only one I have ever told.God blessed me with this vision. I dont know why.

The question is ; I asked Jesus what I must do to go into Heaven. I am not sure that anyone of the Jews or not Jews or even his disciples asked Jesus -during his earthly journey-this direct question, and that must makes us wonder as to why? The rich young ruler asked..... “ Good teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” That was pretty direct.I think we all know the rest of the story.

The disciples asked, what is the will of the Father.....Jesus could have said “ always do your best to be obedient ,or refrain from willful sins or do your best to keep the commandments , or just do the best you can.What did Jesus say in response to the will of God—- BELIEVE in the ONE that HE sent.Christ Shed His Blood to pay for all the things we cant do.Like conquering willful sinning(ALL sinning is willful) Going for anything other than the Blood Of Christ for your salvation will damn you.Believe 1cor15:1-4 and that ALONE for your salvation.Faith plus nothing.

John Wesley gave 90% of his income to the church.His reward in Heaven will be greater than they guy who gives 10%. “ Build up your treasure in Heaven” Jesus advised.

John1:3. “Everything was made by Him,and not one thing was made without Him”

Yes this man may have been saved because later in believe that Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins and was raised for the dead.  For that and not for any other reason. Exactly!

“ We ourselves need to read the Bible” The key to everything.Ya gotta know what’s in there.Many Believers are lousy students of The Word and pay the price and don’t even know it.God has ordered us to prove ourselves to be good students of His Word and rightly divide it.Being too lazy to read the Bible and figuring that guy in the pulpit knows what he is talking about because he stands in that pulpit and does something funky with his collar can lead to problems.Reading the Bible years ago so nobody can mislead me is the best single practical move I ever made.I can’t reccomend it any more strongly—- do it for you OWN benefit.

She BELIEVED Jesus was who He said He was.It was faith then, it’s faith now.The prostitute KNEW she was a sinner that needed a savior—— just like us.She knew who the Savior was.The rich,young prince knew neither.He needed his self-righteous balloon busted and that’s what Jesus was trying to do.It never changes— Faith plus nothing.
