  1. I lifted this from another thread that I was in......Repentance is MANDANTORY for salvation.....let me make that clear.Repentance does not mean to quit sinning, however. God repented more than anyone else in the Bible and we know He did not have to conquer any sin.Repentance for salvation means to have a change of mind—— seeing you are not as hot as you think you are in God’s eyes. You need to see for the first time that you are a wretched sinner, without hope except for the Shed Blood Of Christ on the Cross. It is a life long change of how you view yourself. It is the evidence of a contrite heart, without which you ain’t gonna be saved.THAT is repentance. It sounds just like this—- “Lord, have mercy on me a sinner!” The purpose of the Law is to drive you to that truth. If you have not had that “Woe is Me” moment of “ fear and trembling” in your relationship with God, you could be lacking that relationship. As always, I could be wrong.I am betting my eternal soul that I am not. I should add that repentance is built-in to the first half of Paul’s Gospel thAt saves us. That “ Jesus died for our sins” part. It has to hit home. You have seen you are a sinner and can do nothing to save yourself. It took the death and resurrection of Christ to do that. Many have heard that “Jesus died for my sins” so many times that it fails to resonate in the manner that it should. It must be heart- felt or don’t waste your time with Christianity—- devote your life to something you understand as most do— become a religionist. That “broad gate” thingy. One last thing.....this “Repentance towards God” that leads to “faith in Christ“can’t be conjured up by us.It is a gift from God via His Holy Spirit, for nobody comes to God “ lest the Spirit draw him”.Thank God that “all who ask shall receive”
  2. No takers? Great. Now let’s move on and quit telling poor lost sinners that they must stop, sinning before they can be saved.Repentance is MANDANTORY for salvation.....let me make that clear.Repentance does not mean to quit sinning, however. God repented more than anyone else in the Bible and we know He did not have to conquer any sin.Repentance for salvation means to have a change of mind—— seeing you are not as hot as you think you are in God’s eyes. 3. Combine all the previous posts, and one can’t help but be convinced that OSAS is the true way to believe......oops......got sidetracked ......lol
  4. It seems to me that the evidence shows otherwise......I am still exploring this issue......as with anything else, I could be wrong.......Peter and Paul both preached salvation through Faith in Christ .....does it really matter about the “ nuts and bolts”....... I don’t know for sure. What I DO KNOW is the Gospel I am to believe today— 1Cor15:1-4—- Jesus died for my sins and rose from the dead
  5. It appears that there may have been two gospels being preached during a short time span. The crux of both were faith in Jesus for Salvation. Why would God go to the trouble to call out Paul if Paul was just preaching the same thing as the Apostles? Presently, it does not matter if there are two gospels or twenty gospels....the Gospel thAt saves us ,the Gospel we will be judged by , and the Gospel That is hidden from those that are lost is the one found in 1Cor 15:1-4. It is the one not to be added to lest one find himself “accursed”. It is the one I try to spread.
  6. If dressing up and trying to get a bag full of candy was as evil as you seem to think it is, wouldn’t it be prudent to take bold action against such demonic activities. One could start by getting to the source of all of this Satanic activity —— those that manufacture and sell the evil costumes .They sit back counting their filthy profits while sending our youth to Hell. Burn them at the stake I say!Pure silliness. Its only a big deal when you MAKE it one.
  7. Forgive my nosiness , but had you died during that 9 month delay, would you have been lost? Thanks.
  8. Your “ someone” was probably well- intentioned, but Bible ignorant. There are ten types of baptism in the Bible. Five of them are dry. There is only one of these baptisms that plays a part in your salvation.Paul stated that there is only one baptism—- The baptism of the Holy Spirit thAt puts you in the Body of Christ.Without immersion( or baptism) into that exclusive Body, one is lost.If you believe Paul’s Gospel thAt saves if merely BELIEVED—- 1cor15:1-4— you are in that body.Water baptism is an outward showing of an internal event....the death of the old man and the rising up of the new man in Christ. It does not save .
  9. ......ask any kid what Halloween is about and they can tell you—— FREE CANDY!!!! So simple , even a child can understand it ...
  10. How about this for a Universal Title.....”This thread will morph into the standard OSAS vs NOSAS given enough time.....” lol.....
  11. You are listening to a false , accursed gospel .....repenting of sins to be saved is not possible,it is not Biblical and is nowhere to be found in the KJV.Prove this to be wrong and I know where you can get one million dollars.Best of luck !
  12. If you are in the Body of Christ, try this—— He is your Father, and you are His Son—- That is the best way to see your relationship ,plus it’s Biblical.God bless
  13. I am not quite sure what you mean with this “ working through it” thing with Jesus. All He wants is for you to believe the Gospel he revealed to Paul so that Paul could reveal it to the world. You can find it in 1 Cor 15:1-4. If you BELIEVE that Jesus died for you sins and rose from the dead on the third day, you are saved.End of story.Faith plus nothing.God bless.
  14. Anybody that uses the N-Word in my home will promptly be shown the door.
  15. Or I tell my pimply faced young teen aged grand daughter how pretty she looks, feeling sorry for her condition. (She really is beautiful inside) This is the type of lying I was talking about ......it’s that’s “Spirit of the Law” trumping the “Letter of the Law” thingy.I will not hurt anybody’s feelings if it is in any way avoidable— despite the callousness on display here by a few that think sparing feelings is a small thing.Pharisees are still with us today—- and that is no lie.
  16. I think most of the running up and down the aisles and dancing on the pews stuff is a show put on by Spiritual Show-Offs trying to convince others that they are something special.Paul taught order in the churches.
  17. I try not to get overly concerned about the religious terminology. Here is my take that I believe is Biblical.Jesus said anybody could come for Salvation, but NO ONE comes lest the Holy Spirit draw him.The initiative belongs to God. The Holy Spirit softens the heart of the unrepentant sinner so that they see that they are a lost, wretched sinner that needs a Savior.Only the Holy Spirit can unshackle one from Satan’s lie —— the self-righteous delusion that you are “ good enough” and will make it to Heaven on your terms.Once the heart has been softened and you change your mind( repentance) to the fact that you ain’t as good as you think you are and you are in dire need of grace and forgiveness, then you are ready to receive the Gospel that Jesus revealed to Paul so he could tell it to the world. That Saving Gospel thAt Jesus promises will save us if only believed by the one that hears it is found in 1Cor15:1-4. It consist of two parts.Believe Jesus died for your sins and believe He rose from the dead.FAITH in that promise saves you.Abraham BELIEVED God’s promise and it was counted to him for Righteousness ( justification) The same Spirit that enabled you to believe the Gospel will now indwell you and you will FIND yourself doing the things that please God. That walk with the Holy Spirit guiding your steps is Sanctification.God will transform you into the image of His Son as you submit to His desires for you .Now that you have become His Child,There will be Times thAt you will have to be chastised when you sin.We chastise our children for their own good If we love them . God is no different. As far as salvation goes, it is not revoked because of the sin that remains in our life.Grace covers it all as far as Salvation goes and we will need that grace from the day we were first saved until the day we die.Perfection is on the other side when we meet God face-to- face. Grace , indeed will take us home
  18. Fair enough.....I would not care ,but I think your position puts you in jeopardy of living under a “ gospel” that is accursed. The Bible can be a very dangerous thing if not properly taught. “ Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth”.Check out “get God’s Gift”. Take the time to study your beliefs and check out what others think.Good luck and God bless
  19. Yes......The sins of all mankind were dealt with and paid for at the Cross of Christ 2000 years ago.Yours, mine and even Hitler’s.It’s a shame poor old Adolf did not know how to “cash in”, so to speak. How about you?
  20. I would lie and not think twice about if it prevented hurting somebody’s feelings.
  21. Jesus would disagree with the thought thing. He taught that having lustful thoughts were equal to adultery and hating was as bad as murder.
  22. Ya ever have an unclean thought? Those count also. And,predictively,no answer to the sins of OMMISION ”We ALL have secret thoughts that would shame Hell”. dear Abbey
  23. I have a great marriage .....no pretending.....sorry about your misfortune.
  24. I agree ! There’s nothing funnier than spending three days and three nights in the belly of a whale......why, the smell alone has me in stitches ! Lol.....
