  1. Instead of doing the Father's Word, as Jesus Said, you tryin to climb the fence ? hint: won't work. If you want to obey Jesus, to see heaven, to hear the Shepherd's Voice, you agree with Jesus - you must be perfect. Quote I do what God said to do....” BELIEVE in the One He sent”..... Perfection in these fleshly bodies? If we could accomplish that Jesus died in vain.Since you don’t understand why the Law was given and you magically do what Peter and Paul could not , let’s see how you measure up with James.I have yet to meet a legalists who would discussed those darned old “Sins of Omission”....How many homeless people have you invited into your home lately? Spent any time at the hospitals cheering up the sick? Did you spend all your spare time at the soup kitchen? I thought not. I’ll leave you with this cheerful observation that legalists choose to ignore——if you break ONE Law ,you have broken them all.
  2. 2 hours ago, frienduff thaylorde said: JESUS said DO and DONTS. just let it sink in. IF we don't keep his sayings.................well, be prepared to hear I never knew you. so much for religion eh. God gave the Jews 613 commandments .Nobody kept them. Not Peter, who said “ we nor our fathers kept them” nor Paul who said the law was an impossible system..That’s bad news for those who think they must keep the Law in order to be saved. It gets much worse. The “ dos and donts “ of Jesus were like the Law on steroids.I have no desire to commit adultery, but Jesus taught that a lustful thought was just as sinful. How ya doin’ with that one? Trust me ,I could go on and on with the “ sayings “ that you don’t keep, but let’s get right to the grand daddy of them all.... “ You are to be PERFECT , even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.Just let that sink in........I sure am happy that I don’t have to measure up to that standard. I found a way out.I hope you do also,so that when you stand before Jesus and try to impress Him with your ability to keep His sayings ,,,you will not have to hear “depart from me—-I NEVER knew you. Best of luck with your religion on that Day!
  3. I researched purgetory not long ago and found the very idea repulsive.....the more I learned the more it broke my heart.....an unbiblical fairy tail ,which at its very core says the precious Blood of our Saviour is not capable of purging the sins of man. “ we “ have to be willing to be punished for the sins that Christ somehow couldn’t handle. His blood has no more power than the ancient Jewish sacrifices. It effectively reduces the value of the blood of Jesus to that of A goat. Not that much of a stretch from a belief in purgatory to a belief that Mary is a god.
  4. Thanks for clearing that up. That is an interesting take on the passage in 2 Corinthians. Yes, we should be trying to restore sinful Christians that are willing to repent. Was Paul speaking of the man that was turned over to Satan? Perhaps he was. I wonder about the woman he was committing fornication with. Did she come to repentance? Butero.....According to McGee’s commentery, the woman was not a member of the Church, and he apparently was not concerned with her.....at least not at this time.....perhaps never.
  5. Restoring A Sinning Saint (2:5-13) Let me remind you that in Paul's first letter to the Corinthian church, he rebuked them because they were permitting gross immorality in the congregation. In fact, they had a case of incest in their congregation, and they were shutting their eyes to it. (Yet they were acting as if they were very spiritual!) This kind of gross immorality was something that was even shocking to the heathen; yet the congregation was ignoring it. Paul had written them to get this matter straightened out. He read the riot act to them. He told them, "...put away from among yourselves that wicked person" (1Cor. 5:13). The congregation did listen to Paul. They excommunicated the man. But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many [2Cor. 2:5-6]. They had obeyed Paul. They had excommunicated the man, which was the right thing for them to do. Then the man acknowledged his sin and came under great conviction. Now what ought they to do? They should forgive him. So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him [2Cor. 2:7-8]. "He will be overwhelmed, not only because of his sin, but because you won't receive him. So now put your arm about him, and restore him to your fellowship." To the Galatian believers Paul wrote: "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted" (Gal. 6:1). For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things. To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; Lest Satan should get an advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices [2Cor. 2:9-11]. You see, the Devil tries to push us one way or another. Sometimes the Devil gets us to shut our eyes to gross immorality. There are many instances of that in our churches today. I know one preacher who has had trouble with women in three different churches. Each church he went to serve knew his past record, and still they accepted him as pastor! In shutting their eyes to gross immorality, they were hurting the cause of Christ Jesus. Butero......sorry that I did not go into enough detail in my original post......when I said “chastised” and “ brought back” , I was referring to the fact that he had been ejected from the Church and brought back into the fellowship after he had truly repented. I included the Vernon McGee comments because he explains it better than me.Also I am a one-fingered typist who hates to type.lol God bless
  6. i agree with most of what you say but i have difficulty here as for me if i was to stay in my cage i would be stunted spirtiually is my thougts I was just trying to make the point that God’s laws are for our own good and our own protection, they should not be “burdensome”. I hope this canary knows that keeping these laws will save him or keep him saved....I have been a freeman in Christ for many years. I know the Truth.....and the Truth has “set me free”..... as promised by Jesus. This is what young Believers need to understand—right up front—Christianity is not a religion , “Islam with a cross on it” some wise soul said.Jesus did not come to preach some new religion of “do do this and don’t do that”.He preached Himself.Jesus saves.Period.
  7. Any faith I possess was a gift from God. How could I lose it? Bad behavior? The Believer in Paul’s Church At Corinth was having sex with his own mother ,yet after being chastised he was welcomed back into fellowship with the others. If I find a way to outdo that guy —- if he kept his faith and did not lose his salvation ,I’m not gonna worry about me.There was a good reason for God to include this sordid tale in His Word. It gives hope to sinners like me. I am I free man in Christ, free to do what I want ,funny thing is ,the very second I discovered my freedom in Christ was also the very second I found that my “wants “ had been changed. The old lifestyle I lived has no appeal to me anymore. The only thing I “want” to do these days is be kind to everybody I meet. ( motivation is love.....not some fear of the jaws of hell opening up if I am not 50% perfect ,75% perfect or whatever the legalists Believe is the standard to be saved, seeing how nobody can be 100%. Right? If I violate the freedom Jesus gave me ,trust me— He knows how to get me back in line with His chastisement.I understand what Paul meant when he said “ all things are lawful to me”. Unless Paul is a liar,I should be able to go out and rape, ravage and plunder. So why don’t I ? I don’t want to.Thats the secret of Christianity....God will change the inside of the cup. It’s kind of like a caged canary.one can open the cage door and the canary can go out and be free.freedom also includes cats, storms, hunger ,cold,heat,etc.....the cage was for his own good.a wise canary stays in its cage....wisdom shows he was better- off there all along.OSAS adherents have lived this—- you have to live it to understand it.Free is free....what do you think Jesus meant when He said....” you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.free to obey out of love and an indwelt Spirit. Not fear or trying to be “ good enough” to help the Jesus who can finish what He started.Relax a little, let Him do it. perfect
  8. I used to drink EVERY night and that is no exaggeration. New Years Eve to me was “amateur night”. My goal was to get more blitzed than I did the previous year. I invariably succeeded—- drank 3 fifths of Pagan Pink Ripple Wine at the height of my accomplishments. Then ,of course I was sick for longer than I care to remember. Man, those were the days! Lol. Somebody said that God looks out for drunks and children....it was true in my case. If somebody would have told me in those days that I would be spending that Holiday Season in a Christian Forum group , I probably would have thrown up on their shoes. Gods grace is truly amazing!
  9. Two things save us —-Christ’s Blood And our Faith......as long as Christ’s Blood is on the Mercy Seat ,and As long as my faith is intact I am saved.....The Blood is not going anywhere soon, and once a person enters the life of faith, it is easier to stay in it than it is to leave it. My Salvation is secure.
  10. “ we are not sinners because we sin,we sin because we are sinners”
  11. pry.....you ask if somebody else has shared in you experiences.Have you ever heard of Martin Luther? The leader of The Protestant Reformation? He was so eaten up with trying to be “worthy” of his Salvation —- you know , “do do this ..Don't do that “ and then God will love you. He thought he had to go to confession every time he passed gas! He finally realized what God really wanted.... “ the Righteous shall LIVE by FAITH”! God is not interested in our puny attempts at perfection. Christ is our perfection . Put your faith in His Blood, that He shed for us. I don't know what your church claims is the Gospel.....but the Gospel thAt Paul preached is found In 1cor15..... believe it and be saved! You have been making the sad mistake that millions before you have made ,which is turning Christianity into a religion. Religion says “do”. ...Christianity says “done” You finish the Christian walk the same way you started it—-faith. If you have believed the Gospel thAt is your part....have the f@ith to believe that God— not you— will finish what He started.God bless

  13. I think this ridicule was behind Mary’s eagerness for her Son to perform a miracle at the Cana wedding, even though Jesus said it wasn’t the time for it yet.....she surely thought that would shut a lot of mouths-maybe there “was” some truth to her miraculous motherhood.....just a theory lol
  14. If people can’t handle the virgin both , I wonder what they think about a talking donkey or a man who lived three days in the belly of a fish...if there is no God these things did not happen..., if there IS a God ,The one who spoke and nothing became everthing would have no problem at all performing these miracles. If you don’t believe in the Virgin Birth ,you believe nothing....it’s ALL or nothing.....one would be a fool on the level of Thomas Jefferson, who took a razor blade and cut out miracles and other things he did not like,to think one could pick and choose
  15. Can somebody please tell me why the perveyers of such tripe are handled with “kid gloves” ?......I have been in some other forum sites where if you even question such hogwash as purgatory ,you risk the threat of expulsion .i wonder how many souls are in hell right now because they thought that they could sin away and workit off in purgatory..this all turns the teachings of Paulon its head......wonder how he would handle these perversions of his Gospel
  16. That pic of Buckley reminds me of how much I miss his voice.....I would give anything to know what he would think about today’s political scene
  17. Shiloh....I have a love for Israel and the Jewish people that just ain’t natural. We owe them so much. The Bible is a Jewish Book , written by Jewish authors , all about a Jewish Savior. And Man ,I loved Zola Levitt....his show is still very good , but there was no replacing him.Your post was very interesting to me....please send more stuff like this if you please to do so.I am sure you have heard of Zola , but if not please google Levitt News Letter......you will love it Go to classic Zola videos when you get there. God bless you Saw where you had an interest in replacement theology.....Zola discussed this at length many times.....he despised it....me too!
  18. Anyone familiar with with the late ,great Zola Levitt will recall that ,as a resident of Dallas and teacher and Tour guide to Israel countless times always said Israel was much safer than Dallas—-you just gotta knowwhich areas to avoid
  19. Love him or hate him , Believers have been instructed to follow Paul as he “follows Christ”
  20. Wow.....their blasphemies go deeper than I was aware of....I have always thought that people got saved DESPITE the Catholic Church. I know some Catholics that are saved...what a miracle
  21. Please google this..... Ironside Gospel..... best description of the True Gospel of Paul you will ever see
  22. I,like multitudes of others, used to live in “The Fool’s Paradise”. That’s the place of the deluded, the place where Satan’s biggest lie has taken root...”Well, I ain’t perfect but I’m doing the best I can,and I sure ain’t as bad asthose guys in prison! God will let me go to Heaven! God—-give me what I deserve! Then Jesus will tell them. “ OK you want what you deserve?”.....Depart from me,I never knew you. If you are blessed enough,The Holy Spirit will reveal to you that you are bankrupt sinner before God,and you are worthy of Hell and that alone.that is repentance....a change not only of the mind but of the heart....exiting the Fools Paradise, and crying out.....Lord Jesus have mercy on me , a sinner......God is looking for contrite (repentant) hearts...that is the starting point of Christianity.....God will finish the work He started.....Faith in the Shed Blood of Jesus.....plus nothing!
  23. Christianity is not a religion......religion says “do”. Christianity says “done”
