Did you read the post from the dude who said he knows he can sin all his life, as much as he wants. He ain't worrief

Seems that we left out a little there ,didn’t we? God does not take kindly to a false witness .Any legalist worth their salt should be well-versed in that Old, weak system that we are supposed to be “ dead” to.For those that would be misled by this half-Truth, which is really just a lie.......I say I sin as much as I want because I don’t want to sin ......Previously,I would go out on a Saturday night and get blitzed on Ripple Wine and chase skirts. I could do the same thing tonight.......I don’t WANT to......I have been TRANSFORMED by the HOLY SPIRIT.

Its so simple...BELIEVE the Gospel That Saves .....Get the Holy Spirit in you when you Believe.....Let the Holy Spirit Transform you into the image of God’s Son. If you can say “ Thank you, God for revealing to me my Lost Position by showing me I could never keep your Perfect Law and thank you for the Grace you extended to me while I was still your enemy”.....If you can say that- move to the Head Of the Class.

Now That the Truth of my post is out, do I really seem like the crazed, lost Ogre from Hell that I was portrayed as? Shame on you, JTC for that misleading post.....

Rambling on like a wolf in sheep's clothing with a great many followers who have no fear of God. To those that gave a thumbs up, read what JESUS the Son of God says:

If ye love me, keep my commandments. - John 14:15

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. - John 15:9-10

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. - John 15:4-6

Jesus left us with only Two Commandments— Believe and Love....1John3:23  I don’t understand why people ignore it.....they get obeyed automatically if you rest in the Gospel...

John said if you Believe  that Jesus is the Son Of God ,He abides in you and you abide in Him.....

On a side note.... “ The Law was given so that trespasses might increase”........ The Law was not given as a cure for sin .Grace performs that role.Knowing ALL your sins were forgiven at the Cross.

I've spent the last 3 hrs researching you. That means I've been reading your thread entitled Spiritual Warzone. I don't remember asking you your age but I could have done that, I ask many members their age.

I assume you were in Afghanistan or 1 of those countries. I have a cousin who is supposed to be sent there. There's a store owner in my area from Afghanistan, I don't like what he told me about the place. But praise God you survived.

From many things you said in your other thread I'm surprised you're arguing about quitting sins, it's just obedience to the Lord. I hope the title of this thread isn't freaking you out, I would never call myself a preacher of the Law. I'm actually not saying we need to follow the old law of Moses, not yet anyway. I've considered it but so far God hasn't told me we need to follow the Law. What God has been telling me through His Holy Spirit is that how we live this life will directly effect our next life.

I'm glad God speaks to you so maybe you'll believe me when I say He's been telling me things since I first opened the scriptures. I really should write up my testimony bc it's rather unusual. Back in the late 1970's I had to take a train into NYC everyday. It was close to a 1 hr ride. (now remember there was no electronics yet) Just about everyone sat there reading their newspapers or some folks read books. The only exception was the secretary train which was full of young woman gabbing about what women do. I think people were more anti God back then than they are now. Nowadays's everyone knows that something exists, the question is what.

So 1 fine day I got on the train, with my usual morning coffee, except I took a paperback NIV Bible out of my briefcase and proceeded to read it. Many people were real nasty back then so I figured one day someone is going to get wise with me, but it never happened. Years later I realized God was protecting me bc I'm not good in social situations.

DustyRoad I'm sorry if you felt like I was attacking you, I didn't mean to. I didn't know hardly a thing about you until today. There are a very few members who I have to strain to be civil to. I generally don't post where they do but occasionally we meet up.

A long time ago a fellow believer taught something about the Lord we don't always like. He told me the Lord deals with each of us as He knows we need it, and based on what He wants from us.  I never wanted to be a preacher, I never expected I'd be 1 of the people the Lord uses to make His will known. I find all this unbelievable. I won't mention any names, but we have people here who went to Bible schools, they have more doctrines memorized than I knew existed. In their mind's they have it all figured out. I used to worry about them, but why should I. I really don't want to see certain people in heaven. If the Lord let's them in I'll have to accept it but I don't want them there. Now, I only worry about the ones I once loved and family. I could tell from your other thread that when Jesus is ready for you to fight a new war, a war against sin, He will tell you. Just do me a favor, don't fight against the people who want to clean their lives up, sin is stinking dirty.

    God Bless.

don't fight against the people who want to clean their lives up,

Cleaning up one’s life is great.....unless you think it GETS you saved or KEEPS you saved.....what do you believe about this issue? Thanking you in advance .....

I saw portions of a film that was based on Matthew that actually portrayed Jesus as one who laughed and smiled frequently.....how refreshing. If I were the Creator of the Universe, I would at least create One in which there was a little lee -way for me to enjoy the Life that I created. How else would you do it? Joy is a Fruit Of The Spirit—- I bet Jesus had tons of joy in His life. His Mission was Dead Serious..... But I have yet to meet a True Christian who’s personality was not full of joy.

I read it 40 yrs ago when I first read the Bible & once or twice since then. But I'm reading it again now with a more determined eye to understand it. I totally forgot that the people could be cut off or stoned for willful sinning. That's scary isn't it? Up until only 7 - 10 yrs ago I still had my wilful sins. I made pretty good progress in the last 10 yrs. The surprise is it is not as hard as I thought it would be. I cry over all the people who won't even consider that God hates sins today as much as He always did. I know I'll never become perfect and even if I did, God can still hold the early parts of my life against me. I hope He won't too much.

Ten years ago it hit me that I'm much closer to the end of my sojourn here than I am to the beginning. I started thinking about all the things Jesus said. I thought of the books being opened in heaven and what will I say? Jesus also said those of us with great understanding will be judged harder than those with little knowledge of God. I think I'm in the first group, that was when I decided to give up every sin I can. Since I'm not young, the sin I call lust was mostly a matter of making my mind up to end it. I think sexual pleasure & lust is the #1 reason so many believers have a million doctrines to try and justify themselves. I also realized my lust sin involved demons, I never wanted anything to do with them. I was fooled most of my life, I thought these 2 evil spirits were simply my imagination. I never told this before.

Foul speech is hard to quit because we're brainwashed to think we need it to be taken seriously, as well as manly. But Paul said let no unwholesome speech come out of your mouths. I'm still working on that one.

Justin, it was such a delight to read your anti-sin post. I never knew we had this in common, there are many here who are against us. God Bless you brother.

It seems like you are obsessed with YOUR performance.Christianity is about HIS performance. That is why we worship HIM and HIM alone. You worry about God “ getting” you because of your past sins and because you struggle with present sins.Have you never heard of Grace? If you trust Jesus.....your sins are thrown into the deepest depths of the Ocean- forgotten and forgiven- God “ remembers them no more”. That is the reality of this Wondrous Age Of Grace we live in.You and others will not accept this because you think as the World does- If we know that ALL of our sins are forgiven ( past, present and future) the only result can be “ Head for the Hills,  Ma Barker— there’s gonna be sin Galore!

I can sin all I want and never go to Hell. The sins I will commit next year are already covered. That is the Truth  in the New Covenant. That is Grace. When this Truth is internalized— when it really SINKS IN, the true outcome is the opposite of what the World and poorly taught Believers think. You can sin all you WANT— you just do not WANT to anymore. That’s the big secret of True Christianity- stop trying and start trusting.I do not concern myself with the impossible demands of the Law.I am “ Christ Conscience” now.....not “Sin Conscience”. The Law is fading away in my rear- view mirror......the more I forget about the Law, the better I keep it. Christianity is funny that way.Without even trying, I bet my performance that I don’t even worry about , is better than yours - not that it matters for Salvation in the least .All Of you that are so concerned about your Law-Keeping abilities  — if you want to defeat sin— quit trying— it will defeat you every time , eventually.I suspect the real root of the problem is you don’t believe the Gospel .....the part where it says “ Jesus DIED FOR YOUR SINS”...... you just don’t believe  it.This total forgiveness, this total  Grace is the ONLY “ cure” for sin. It is what stirs up a Love for God that brings an obedience that “ stems” from that same Grace. If people would concentrate on trusting the Promises Of God instead of stressing over the Rules Of  God.....( the righteous shall LIVE by FAITH! ) Believers could live a life of joy and peace while trusting God to do any “ heavy lifting” that is required of them.....HE will finish the TRANSFORMATION that HE started.....In the end, Paul said that is the ONLY thing that matters.....the O N L Y thing.....you would think that would  grab somebody’s attention. I hope it grabs the attention of new believers who have not been ruined yet. God bless.

Btw.....I must add this, because I can hear it now.Nobody can sin and “ get away with it” . If I sin I get chastised. Its like sticking my hand in a fire.....it’s the same for any believer in Grace.God will not be mocked. You get temporary punishment instead of Eternal Punishment.Reject God’s Grace and You May get the exact opposite.

Maybe....but he did have to live with a  hit squad on his back.

The Bible does say that the chief priests, during those final times that they were trying to kill Jesus [and succeeded] were also trying to kill Lazarus to shut him up because apparently, as it says in John 12, people were coming to Christ because of Lazarus.

Did they succeed in killing Lazarus?  I don't know.  John 12 doesn't say.

Excellent point and one I never considered before ....thanks for sharing your insight

Go out on the street and ask the average person about where they are going when they die. The majority will say something like this — “ I don’t know for sure , but I’m doing the best that I can” or “ I ain’t perfect but I’m not near as bad as that guy in the Penitentiary - I’ll be OK on Judgment Day”.Absolutely clueless.Absolutely lost. Much of the church is no different .  Vernon McGee figured at least half ( it may have been more) of his congregation was unsaved. Many preachers, including John Wesley confessed they preached for years - even decades - before they realized they were unsaved. The Way truly is Narrow . Nothing But The Blood— add to that at your own risk

THE CROSS DID NOT NEGATE OR NULLIFY THE LAW.

Has anyone actually Read Leviticus? You did NOT keep the law to be saved, you kept it to allow offerings, sacrifices and homage to Yahweh - haShem.

It was observed to allow a right (and restrictive) RELATIONSHIP with God The Father.

You will find that the sacrifices were for unintentional sins - or accidental uncleanness. Some offerings were communal meals (Lev 2-3)

If you deliberately sinned, you could be cut off (banished) or stoned.

To inhabit Holy Ground you had to be cleansed from unintentional error.

The Big Ten are a little different and carry a heavy penalty, either in this life or the life to come.

The Israelis call the whole Tanach the 'law'. The Torah teaches us about God's Holiness and His Heart. It was often difficult to see, but many did understand this well. It set them apart from the surrounding nations and their pagan pantheons. Israel vs the nations; God vs the Archons.

Yeshua 'purified' the Way unto the Presence of God (haShem) once and for all thru the Veil. So now even intentional sins could be forgiven. A major improvement on the old way.

The 'law' as such is a teaching method for not messing up and understanding the Purity of the Lord. A 'schoolmaster' as the apostle said. No one ever thought the 'law' would save you, it just allowed you access to God's Holy Presence where you could worship Him with a clear conscience.

No one ever thought the 'law' would save you

Heck.....people “ TODAY” think keeping the Law saves them... their trick is to lower the demands of the Law down to a level they think they can keep, and there you have it—- Good to Go!

The Pharisees and many other Jews ( also the Jews of this day) derived their “ righteousness” by deluding themselves into thinking they had kept the Law..... this is the SELF righteous people that Paul said was going to Hell, trying to “ establish their own righteousness”.So how can one say nobody ever thought the Law was going to save them.Every self- righteous person that ever lived is proof to the contrary .....anybody that thinks  they are “ good enough”.The only way to be righteous is to have it imputed to you. By Faith in the Blood Of Jesus....plus NOTHING

  9.   I don’t care what you or anybody else does in concern to the Law......just don’t think your obedience or disobedience to it has anything to do with your Salvation....and don’t spread that error to  Newbies....  it’s NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD for Salvation— from start to finish.....any foundation other than that is built on sand.....obedience to the law will bring blessings from God.....disobey the Law and your life will be cursed....wise people try to obey. The wise become unwise when they think their adherence to the Law will Justify themselves and make them fit for Heaven.God won’t have it.Please remove the song “ Nothing But The Blood” from your hymnal tomorrow if you don’t believe it.Thanks for you prayers .....you pray for me and I will continue to pray for you.

  10.

Jesus of Nazareth was a five part miniseries. A sheer masterpiece— not just in the Christian Genre. The writing and acting are superb. The director had  to get weird, which would be the downfall of a lesser movie...the actor portraying Jesus was not allowed to blink when the camera was on him.....check it out the next time you watch this amazing movie. I’ve seen it at least 20 times......it’s on you tube....

Heads up on Brad Pitt  A.D. space movie—If I could find one, I’d pitch this Bore-Trek into the deepest Black Hole in the Universe. Two hours and eleven minutes of my life I can never get back......lol...

  11. I found this in here this morning— must not have hit the send button.........oh well , maybe somebody , somewhere will get something out of it.......

You see it in here every day......the Grace of God has been reinvented......it’s called “ repentance”

Repent of sins to be saved.....continue that repentance to stay saved.......Two false beliefs that have been  repeated so many times, nobody even thinks about them any longer....Unbelief In Jesus damns.Belief In Jesus Saves. Whatever got you from one to the other was repentance.....Repentance means “ mind change”. You change your mind about who Jesus was and is.You changed your mind from unbelief in Jesus to belief in Jesus......you are saved.

Blood Bought,  I like to think of the holy of holies in this way :

The holy of holies housed one piece of furniture: the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark consisted of a chest board and a mercy seat placed on top of it with two cherubim one on each side.

There Christ sits as king and priest upon His throne. There Jesus wants us to enter in and share the throne with Him as king and priest.

It is the hidden life in the Ark that gives you access to the throne. The Ark contained 3 items: the golden pot of manna which speaks of union with Christ within the veil, you are feeding on the hidden manna. Out of that union will come forth Aaron’s rod that budded, resurrection life and divine authority. Then you have the two tables of stone in the Ark:  God’s law in the Ark-the Ark in you -Christ in you the hope of glory. This is the mark of God’s people; I delight to do your will Oh God for your law is written within my heart.

The LAW here is the Torah. You want access to the throne and deeper intimacy within the veil : You need to have the Law written within your heart ( Christ IN YOU the hope of Glory)

And yes, you cannot enter there without blood .  It's the blood that will give you boldness to enter into the holy of holies. But it is worship that had been sanctified by blood

Since the holy Spirit will only sprinkle the blood of those that are obedient ( 1 Peter 1:2), this teaching that's telling me that The Torah is not for the church , its all about works and not faith is just robbing the church of its inheritance within the veil. It's causing the church to become lawlessness.

“It’s causing the church to become lawlessness” Hmmmm.... maybe the answer is more Laws.....seems we have been down that road ..maybe preach a little more about Hell?  The best way to defeat  “ lawlessness” is to preach all your law violations are covered by Grace if you believe the Gospel.Grace stirs up Love. Love stirs up obedience. Maybe Jesus knew that when He left us with only two Laws—-Believe and Love.

10 or 10,000 laws....the point of the Law is that you can’t keep it and need a Savior...Put Your Faith in Christ and forget about the Law and paradoxically, you will do a better job of keeping those laws - not that it has ANYTHING to do with your Salvation- You get that when you put your faith in NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD Of JESUS........that’s the new Plan.....best get with it.....You are in my prayers....

I agree that He redeemed us from the curse of the Law, That's a part of how He fulfilled it. I agree that it was the Law that set up or led to the need for His Death or as I prefer, Sacrifice, for that's what His death was. It is that Sacrifice that Redeemed us from the curse of the Law. I just also believe that it was the acts of the sinful Jewish leaders of the day (and the unholy and self serving adherence rules that they established) that was the actual mechanism by which the Prophecy was fulfilled and the Sacrifice completed. Once He took that curse on Himself by His sacrifice, He had fulfilled the Law but He didn't abolish it as some would contend.

As an instrument to be saved, the Law ,indeed was never “ abolished” —- it never existed.

  15.

I strongly suspect that I am one of “ those guys” you have been warned about.I am all for “ being like Jesus”....it’s the “ getting there” that concerns me.Most people get a little scared when they learn they must be like Jesus.....and for good  reason! It can’t be done. At least not by us.After all, Jesus wasPERFECT....24/7.

What we usually get is people “acting”like Jesus in a misguided attempt to do what they think they are obligated to do.Keep a nice “ smile” on your face, make sure you bottle up any real emotions that might reveal the true you.Conjure up a false image of the sweet, kind -all -the -time, Jesus That Zola Levitt wrote a fascinating book about. To summarize his book , the gist is that our modern day image of who Jesus was is mostly mistaken.

I think God is more interested in Spiritual “ FRUITION,” than He is Spiritual “ IMITATION”—- the real thing as opposed to a phony , fear -motivated  performance. To BE like Jesus, why not try to live as He did? What made “ Jesus”.....Jesus? His Faith! Of course, Jesus was God in the Flesh and was full of the Holy Spirit at all times.Jesus turned to and trusted His Heavenly Father for everything...Hence, the sinless life, the miracles, the courage, and the end, literally hanging His Body on the Promises Of His Father, to “ endure the shame” for the Reward awaiting Him.

If one desires to BE like Jesus ( and of course, this side of Heaven nobody can compare to Him) do what He did....Trust your Father, Trust in His Wondrous Promises ( The Gospel) . Rest in them, and let God and the Holy Spirit change you from the inside out.Give up the phoney, concentration on the “ outside of the cup” act that the world looks at.There will come a time when we will be just like Him.We will not be remotely close to possessing the Faith that He had.But God “ has” promised to TRANSFORM  us  into the very image of His Son.He does it-  not us.So we have our Promise as Jesus had His.Tap into what made Jesus what He was... Faith! Abandon the “ Act like Jesus” mind-set, with the external “ dead works” and strive to be  a “ Hero Of Faith”.You will actually become more and more like you Savior.Without even trying.God bless

    Not me,

For both OT and NT believer’s salvation is by grace through faith. Paul quotes from Habakkuk : the just shall live by faith" 3 times in the NT. And this is how both OT and NT believers are perfected: by grace through faith ( Hebrews 11- by faith Abraham, by faith Moses , by faith the walls of Jericho fell, by faith they kept the sprinkling of blood, ).

But now that we have been saved by faith, this is how we are to live holy lives. You have an obligation to walk in God’s commandments. How you live determine not your salvation but your eternal rewards.

God gave Israel the Torah  meaning teaching for walking with God. But the scribes and the Pharisee took the Torah and perverted it. On the sermon of the Mount Jesus explained that the purpose of the 10 commandments : with the commandments do not murder . It was God"s intention  in giving this commandment that you cannot keep it by your own self effort. If you have resentment forgiveness in your heart towards another, you are already operating in the spirit of murder. You need God's grace to be able to forgive. You need God's grace to resit the spirit of adultery. Jesus explained that if you have lust in your heart, you have already committed adultery.

The Pharisee had left off the righteousness which is by faith to establish their own righteousness by works and doing .  Hence the terms " the works of the law" which is all doing by your own self effort.  The pharisee have narrowed down the 10 commandments so that they can keep it without God's grace. anyone with  a religious spirit can keep the commandment if you narrow down its definition.

Not ME, you and I agree but we are talking pass each other.

Jesus said that the purpose of all the Law and the prophets is to make you love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. You need God's grace to keep the Torah. That's was God's intention all along. On these 2 commandments hang all the Law and the prophets.

All the OT heroes lives by faith for without faith it is impossible to please God. The bible commands to to follow their examples : be followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises of God.

It is the Pharisee that had perverted it by making it all doing so that they can keep it by their own self effort.

    The Law of the Lord

The Law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul . David a man after God;s own heart : this is how he felt about the Law of God:

Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. ( Psalm 119:97)

I rejoice at your word, as one that finds great spoil.( Psalm 119:162)

And I will walk at liberty: for I seek your precepts.( Psalm 119:45). No wonder James refers to OT scripture as the laws of liberty

whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.( Psalm 1). You will prosper, you will bear forth fruit and you become like a tree planted near the rivers of water if you keep the Torah.

Israel as a  nation went about to establish their own righteousness

Israel as a nation left the righteousness which is by faith and went about to establish their own righteousness by works and doing. That was the whole problem with the Galatians. They had been saved by faith. But those of the circumcision came and told them they have to be circumcised to be saved. its faith and circumcision to be saved.

Circumcision is a sign of becoming a proselyte Jew. When you become a proselyte , you have to keep the torah as perverted by the pharisee and all their oral laws ( a yoke of bondage and works ) which is not by faith.

Christ in you the hope of glory

The 10 table of stones ( 10 commandments ) was placed in the ARK. Ark is Christ . The Law in Christ . I  delight to do your will oh God  for your Laws are written in my heart.

The Torah in Christ , then Christ in You the hope of glory.  That's how NT believers are now keeping the Torah today.

The 10 table of stones ( 10 commandments ) was placed in the ARK. Ark is Christ . The Law in Christ . I  delight to do your will oh God  for your Laws are written in my heart.

That same ARK has a Mercy Seat That has the most precious thing in the Universe sprinkled upon it— The Blood Of Jesus Christ. The Law can’t be viewed now without first seeing The Blood. That works out real good for Believers.
