`It's kinda hard sometimes on this forum to share scripture and experiences without stepping on a land mine.........default_cool2.gif.b140708c9bc539bfec0eeb8e858f10da.gif
Was trying to help another member concerned that her son did not believe he was born again.
This member admits to her salvation was not through hearing the word.
I gave the word, the simple Romans road scripture, and later some examples to ask commitment if desired.
It was an example of what a seeker might think/say to proclaim belief.
Wasn't meant to be a substitute for scripture.
Though my wife does, I personally do not press for a decision of belief when witnessing.
I plant the seed, and leave the results with God.
Would you Blood mind giving your own testimony what you would ask/say to a seeking sinner,
and any thing you would ask or say to insure their fully understanding of what they have heard.
I understand how a proclaimed promise would be misconstrued as part of the 'package' for salvation.
Yes to your statement, God does not require a promise in His gospel. Only true belief.
I did not think this needed to be pointed out.
    Thanks for you help.......

I would tell them the same thing I told my very young Daughter , many years ago .... “ Anybody That Asks to be Saved WILL be Saved.”  Another favorite is to tell them to do like the “ Justified” Tax  Collector did—- say from the Heart...  “Lord , have mercy on me a Sinner”

My anchor is 1Cor15:1-4......Paul’s Gospel......a Promise from Jesus that if you simply Believe that Jesus  died for your Sins and Rose from the Dead, you will be Saved......Nothing But The Blood for Salvation....

That's clear as bell. Nicely stated. John had a sharp wit due to the harsh criticisms he had to face. George was also humorous, but you had to also understand the slight mild sarcasm. Ringo was a lovable clown and everyone admired him. Paul? Not exactly a comic, but he was a diplomatic spokesperson. When it came to performing music, all of them still loved to entertain the audience. This remained with them throughout the solo years as well.

If you look back on some of the available clips.....I am amazed at some of the stuff George came up with ....He was  very witty “ In his own write”...... lol......I know you will get that one !

btw....I am stumped on your trivia questions.....any forthcoming answers?  I will try to find my Beatles trivial pursuit and throw some stuff your way....

Btw.....I just noticed how I misspelled “ idol” .....duh.......I hope to high Heaven that I did not misspell the word “ misspell”..... haha...

The bible that I don't read?

I already know the bible well enough...I am very careful who i listen to....you are standing in judgement of others....my advice..be very careful.

If you would Read your Bible you would know that Christians are SUPPOSED to judge other Christians. We are not to judge “ The World” — that is God’s Job ....

You have said on several occasions that you don’t need to read the Bible.....that is why I keep harping on it.....you hurt YOURSELF!  I just informed you of something you never knew before .....proving my point....you seem to believe that a Walk Of Faith Without studying the Bible is a virtue....an accomplishment to be proud of......it is not....Do as you wish....and continue to be embarrassed by the stuff you  got wrong.....I won’t lose any sleep over it.....I am trying to give you great advice, that’s all....

God did not save me by believing scripture...I already know I am born again...how can I try to be saved..I have no idea what you are talking about.

Only the Holy Spirit can save me...which he did 28 yrs ago. Without scripture...he drew me to himself..his way...not mans way.

I was referring to your son and how you could both KNOW that he is saved.....yourself too! The Bible That you don’t read will tell you that God is going to inquire of you, when you stand before him— “ What did you Do about My Gospel?” If you would Read the Bible , like I have suggested, you might know these valuable things....It is like I told you.....if you not become a good Student Of The Bible and learn how to “ rightly divide” it.....you just hurt yourself, and by extension, maybe your son.You should know the Bible well enough to teach him about it ....Do it to help him.....don’t  let him flounder around with a mish- mash of Bible Ignorance.....like 90% of the Church World....

Not knowing his age, I would first tell him what you did, the scriptures that you received
to get the light to repent, that changed your thinking.
He has to change some of his 'faulty' thinking. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word. (you)
Look up (google) the Roman road on the internet..it gives all that is needed, and add your own.
Find out what he knows, and what he doesn't. Share with him what he lacks.
    And pray pray pray 1st.

    Got it for you;

    The Romans Road Bible Verses

    1. The Human Problem (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, and Romans 6:23)

The first part of the Romans Road confirms the state of every human as sinful and the state of God as holy.

After establishing that “all have sinned,” the first half of Romans 6:23 explains the depth of this problem and its consequences.

“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a)

However, the second half of the verse hints at the hope sinners have for salvation through Jesus.

“…but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)

    2. Humanity’s Hope in Christ (Romans 5:8)

The second part of the Romans Road further explains the hope we have in the love of God expressed through Christ.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

    3. The Sinner’s Response (Romans 10:9-10 and Romans 10:13)

Once we understand our need for a savior and recognize that Jesus Christ is that savior, we can respond by moving along to the third part of the Romans Road, calling out to Jesus.

If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)

This response is possible for everyone. Romans 10:13 expresses God’s ability to save everyone. (His intention to save everyone is further expressed in John 3:16-17)

For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13)

    4. The Result of Salvation (Romans 5:1-2 and Romans 8:1)

The fourth part of the Romans Road mentions two results (peace and justification) after a sinner decides to declare and believe in their heart that Jesus Christ is Lord. Romans 5:1-2 explains that through faith in Jesus Christ, sinners can enjoy peace with God, no longer separated from holy God by sin.

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.” (Romans 5:1-2)

Romans 8:1 rejoices in the result of salvation. Before faith in Christ, all who have sinned were condemned by their sin and destined for death. But now with faith in Christ, “there is no condemnation” (Romans 8:1) and believers are gifted eternal life with God (Romans 6:23).

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 8:1)

I have marked these in my bible, with a note on  the first one where to go to the second, and from there where to get to the next etc.
God's word will not return void. He may not digest it at once, and the soil could be needing a little softening up first before the sowing.
Read them over a few times to be familiar, asking  God for wisdom. Pray...
He has such a great love for you Flowersun as His child. He knows the burden you have for yours.
    Ask and you shall receive.......

    PS edit

Some people are very demonstrative and excited.
Others are more unsure or reserved.
If you give scripture, and he believes them, ask him if there is any reason not to ask God to save him.

Here are samples you can ck out. Google 'the sinners prayer' and you can get an idea,
depending on your son's age. There are many to see, or use your own words.
This will be the best thing you will ever do for your child.
    You will gain a brother..:)

The second one is a False Gospel.... God requires no such “ Promise” or  “ Commitment”. Believing the Gospel is realizing what God did for us.....not what we do for God.These two things may sound good to the Carnal Mind, But they play NO part in Salvation.....if one thinks their “ commitment” , which is just a noble word for “Works” has Saved them or will Keep them Saved , they are trying to be the “ Co-Savior” and God will have nothing to do with that .......it ain’t what you “ do”...... it’s what  He did.....and your Faith  that what He did was All-Sufficient. That way , Jesus gets ALL of the Credit and you get what you deserve- None Of it!  Just the Way God wants it.....

The first one ain’t much better, now that I look at it..... “ Giving your life to Jesus” is a good thing to do— I’ve done it myself —- but that wise decision may come many years after you are Saved, as part of God transforming your life into the Image Of His Son— don’t try to blend Sanctification into the Gospel....it doesn’t fit

I spoke to my son last night,he believes that Jesus died for our sins....but he doesn't believe he is born again....surely he would he would know that..what do you think?

If he Believes the Gospel Of 1Cor15:1-4 That Jesus died for his sins and that He rose from the dead, your son is saved and so are you.End Of story. It is a Promise Of God . We are saved by Faith and Faith is Believing a Promise Of God. We simply take Him at His Word. Add to that Gospel  Of Pure Grace with anything that requires Human Merit and you will “ Fall from Grace.” Don’t “ try” to be Saved .....God will reject that. “ Trust” To be Saved......just remember the Song.....it's really True.....NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD....

I did tune in as it was aired "live" three hour after on Pacific Standard Time. Good to see Paul.

I also didn't find Farley's senseless addictions to gorging himself and over consumption of alcohol and drugs to be all that funny either. He did have some talent but blew it all on "self-entertainment". That killed him.

Farley was a troubled Soul for sure.....but I thought the “ bit” was good......We love the Beatles for their God- Given Gifts as  Musicians, yet I would bet none of them ever thanked God for the gifts he gave them , not to mention all the Material Blessings he bestowed upon them.George worshipped idles, Paul was one of the biggest Pot-Heads  that ever existed, Ringo was a drunk, and John took pride in singing  that he “ did not believe in Jesus”. I am not their Judge, but if I were a betting man.....Farley and the Beatles  were all blessed with talent and fortune, yet they are Unsaved Men, blinded by Satan......I bet there are also plenty of Lost Gospel Singers out  there that are Spiritually Blind But their sins are just not so obvious.......

Do it online at Worthy.  :)

Everyday there is over 2500+ visitors who are not members reading topics.

Every topic or post is a witness!  :)

George.....what would your best “guesstimate”  be on how many of these 2500 visit once and never return, or how many visit and kinda “stick around for awhile” and then leave, or how many become Regulars , but never actually become members and finally, how many become Members? I think others beside me would be fascinated to know how things break down.......thanks...

  10. James told Husbands to treat their Wives properly or they would not get ready answers to their prayers .....I think we can infer from that warning that our behavior can have an effect on our Prayer Life.....It is just another common sense reason to try to be as “ Good” as we can be at all times .....Being “ Good” has NOTHING  to do with Salvation —- it does not Get you Saved, nor KEEP you Saved—— It WILL Please God , it WILL get you Blessed and as James teaches , your prayers WILL get results more speedily....When we Sin , we can find ourselves out of Fellowship with God ( The Blood still has them covered).....I believe that trying to get prayers answered when one is “ out of Fellowship” with our Father is going to make for some tough-going.

.and how he has committed to the Lord about changing some of his ways....

Nobody ever receives Salvation by “ changing their ways”......that is a lie from Satan...

One receives Salvation precisely because the scales fall from their eyes and they finally see that no amount of “ turning over a new leaf” or “ changing their ways” will ever make them fit for Heaven. Jesus said we are “ to be PERFECT” in order to go to Heaven and He MEANT IT!  The ONLY Way to get that Required Perfection is to have it “ IMPUTED” to you.....How does one get God to see them “ as if they NEVER SINNED?”. Easy. Stop putting your Faith in  your pitiful performance of “ being good enough” and put that Faith in the Gospel Of Paul- Given to Him Personally by Jesus. That Gospel is to be found in 1cor15:1-4.......Believe in it and IT ONLY.....REST in it...... “ THAT” is how one gets saved.......we are all dirty and only the Blood Of Jesus can cleanse us......self effort is nothing but “ filthy rags” in the eyes of God......Turn from your trusting your “ morality” to Faith in Jesus plus Nothing......May God open your eyes and the eyes of others to these Truths....

I recall one other SNL broadcast where (I can't remember who now) jetted over to Paul and Linda's apartment they were staying at in London on a surprise live visit. Bad timing. They both came out in their bathrobes to do a moment or two of interviewing, recognizing the media were at the door again. Mr. and Mrs. Macca tried their usual diplomacy, but weren't exactly pleased to be awakened at an early hour.

I guess the crew at New York hadn't considered the time factor from the other side of the Atlantic. They attempted questioning Paul about the cannabis bust in Japan some time back. Paul suggested not commenting about the incident. He wasn't in the mood. I wonder why. Maybe the nine days in a Japanese prison weren't the best memories to account for on TV. He kindly hinted  at changing the subject.

    We love you, Paul.

I bet he was miserable in that jail.....but what he did was very risky and foolish....he should have known how seriously the Japanese take that stuff.....it could have been MUCH worse...

having trouble finding a good video of the SNL Farley/ McCartney interview......some fake guy on many of them....he thinks he is funny.....he ain’t..

  13. Unspeakable  Selfishness and Immaturity to the point of causing needless deaths is insisting to have the right to “ keep my light on” during the London Blitz....we are now enduring the Modern-Day equivalent of the London Blitz— and seeing who wants to be a hero - to just “ suck it up” and act like a man — and who chooses,  out of a pure lack of compassion for others ...

I would like to hear how salvation is so simple?

How is being born again simple?

Creating the Universe was Simple.....I think the Bible said that God did it with his little finger......Salvation was tough work.....thank God, Jesus did it all.....Salvation cost God His Son.....It Cost His Son His Life.....The Angels try to understand Salvation, But is something they do not fully understand.....

Salvation was not easy for God, but He sure made it easy for anybody that will simply “ come to Him”.....God made it simple to the point that nobody will have an excuse for not being Saved.... “ Anybody that ASKS to be saved,WILL be Saved”......how could God make it any Simpler? He did it all, he paid it all and all,we have to say is say “ Jesus, save me”...... then Trust HIM to do it.....how could God make it any easier ?

  17. The first record I ever bought was “ Cotton Candy” By Al Hirt......lol......anybody remember him?

My second record was “ I get Around” by The Beach Boys.......

My third purchase was “ Twist and Shout” by The Beatles........from that point it was “Beach Boys WHO?”...... I previously thought The Beach Boys were pretty good.....I suppose they were.....They just could not compete with The Beatles....

I was  telling my brother just the other day that if one wanted to see the difference between The Beatles and The Beach Boys, take a look at the Album Cover Of “ Pet Sounds”...... then look at the cover of Sgt Pepper.....that’s the difference in a nutshell.......
