  1. This will be the last time I speak to you because you ignore questions and also ignore scripture I posted. I just want to point out that we are not saying the Law can save, it never has. Nearly every verse you posted has a context of people trying to use the Law FOR SALVATION instead of Christ. I guess for you there is no Law and you are free to live how you want without any regard to how God feels about it. The problem is an attitude like that is not from God. But thankfully what the Bible says is true and it doesn't matter what people think. I suppose when Paul said asked if the fact that we are not under the Law means we are free to sin all we please so grace may abound and answered his question with "may it never be" "we uphold the Law" it somehow doesn't apply to you. Clearly the context of what he is saying here is the Torah when he says "not under the Law" so the same word for Law used when he said "we uphold the Law" is also the Torah. I guess you also ignore the fact that Paul took a Nazarite vow to prove that he was not against the Torah. Please do a study on this vow (numbers) to see how serious it is. Once you have the truth all of the Bible will fit well with each other and it will no longer be necessary to refute one verse with another as you do. If scripture can refute scripture the whole thing is broken and you have no salvation anyway. I see that you have no desire to read and study the Bible for yourself without some study guide or church leader to hold your hand so I'm done with this discussion. My hope is that some day you actually pray to God to show you the truth and let him teach you instead of your pastor. Your pastor should not be your authority or source of truth, the word of God should. Once again feel free to reach out to me if you decide to actually discuss this in the future and not just argue, I'll be happy to help you if you have questions. Even though I seem to be harping on you I'm only doing it because I want you to know the truth.
  2. I may be misunderstanding what you are saying, but are you suggesting that following God's Law means you are rejecting the Holy Spirit? That is a very dangerous thing to say and should concern you if that's what you mean. Romans 14:5 is CLEARLY about food if you read the context, not the Law or Feast Days. Please read starting at verse 1 to get the context and count how many times food or eating is mentioned. People were arguing about when to fast, this was a big debate back in the day. He is just saying it doesn't matter what day, it's between you and God. Colossians 2:16-17 also says the opposite of what you think. Do you really think that the Pagans would give them a hard time for NOT keeping the Feast Days???? Also, the Greek word for "regarding" literally means "portion". μέρος méros, mer'-os; from an obsolete but more primary form of μείρομαι meíromai (to get as a section or allotment); a division or share (literally or figuratively, in a wide application):—behalf, course, coast, craft, particular (+ -ly), part (+ -ly), piece, portion, respect, side, some sort(-what). I encourage you to do a word study on this Greek word and see how often it is translated as it is here, I think the answer will surprise you. So what this verse really says in the Greek is don't let anyone judge you in food or drink or WHILE TAKING PART of a Feast day ..... Taking a PORTION of the Feast is what it's saying. The commandments Jesus gave came from Torah, please show me one that didn't or show me one that breaks Torah. Do you think that Jesus is someone different than the one who gave Moses the Law? Do you think those commandments were not His commandments? Also, in case you didn't know, the "Law of Moses" which you seem to have disdain by the way you referred to it came from God, not Moses. Also, you said Jesus's words are truth and I agree. But did you know that the Bible also says that the Torah (Law) is truth? Jesus himself said that people who break the Law or teach others to do so will be LEAST in the kingdom of God. I hope you think about what I'm saying and verify these things for yourself. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or what to show me where I'm wrong.
  3. I think he meant that people are following doctrines of men or their church without checking them against scripture and this is why they think Jesus died on a Friday. I also agree with a lot of what you said. But the Sabbath is Saturday and always has been, because Christ died to pay the penalty for our sins (sin is breaking the Law btw) doesn't mean now that we have no consequences we should purposely break the very Laws he died for. The Law has never been for salvation, not even before Jesus. Only some of the Jews (and some of the church) taught that it was. But it does show us what sin is, and sin is still sin. Jesus did not change the definition. Like you said, love is very important. Jesus said if we love him we will keep his commandments. btw, please don't think I'm trying to talk down to you or act like you have to keep the whole Law or your not a Christian, that's not what I'm saying at all and I'm sure we agree on more than we disagree.
  4. Sorry about that, I misunderstood what you were saying (clearly ). I agree with everything you said. It's nice to see this out in the public.
  5. Did a double post by mistake so I deleted what was here
  6. I did a study on this a while back and he actually died on a Wednesday (the 14th) at the 3:00 hour (this is why it literally says "between evenings" in Lev 23). This is when the lamb as slain, it's also when our ultimate Passover Lamb was slain. He was put in the tomb right before sundown on the 14th and rose before daylight 3 days later. This is 3 days and 3 nights just as he said it would be. In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. So this is saying that it was the first day of the week (Sunday) right before daylight when they arrived and he was already gone. This is after two Sabbaths close together (Thursday and Saturday). The first day of Unleavened Bread is always treated as a Sabbath no matter what day it falls on because God said it should be (Lev 23). This day is called a High Sabbath or just Sabbath even if it falls on a weekday, so when it says it's preparation day before the Sabbath (for it was a great one). It's saying it's the 14th before Unleavened Bread, the High Sabbath or Great Day etc. Also, the first Sunday after this is always when First Fruits was supposed to be offered (Lev 23). I would write more about this (about the verses that seem to contradict on the days etc) but it's late and I need to get up early in the morning. Let me know if you have questions about why I think Jesus died on a Wednesday and I will answer them.
  7. While agree with what you are saying about the name of Jesus/Yeshua I don't agree with you calling people names and saying they are in a "cult" just because they don't agree with you. What do you think would help people more, saying that they are ignorant and should study Hebrew for a few years to be as superior as you or calmly explain to him using all your massive Hebrew knowledge how he is wrong? It seems you want to prove how great you are and not actually lead this person to the truth about the Hebrew name of Jesus. I'm sure God is very impressed with your humility and grace you have shown this person.
