It's not an opinion.   The SDA teaches a false gospel.

    And you know this how?

    Because I was raised Methodist

And I didn't fall off any wagon

    Because Man says?

Or the word speaks for itself?

     I'm not upset or angry

    I actually appreciate the conversation

While I appreciate that immediate chemical imbalances in the brain may require medication, in the long run it is God's desire to see you healed. There are natural ways to regain normalcy which bring peace and joy. Exercise...proper diet...sound sleep patterns...rest...and constant friendly fellowship with like-minded individuals who don't judge you for your illness....as well as good Bible study that remembers the promises of God and reminding yourself every day of who you are and can be in Christ (positive thoughts based on God's declarations as to how much you are loved and how precious you are to Him etc...we are what we think)....prayer and faith in God all contribute to a better lifestyle. Good sound Christian counselling that isn't predicated on worldly principles and philosophy is also recommended.

    Excellent

    This is the way

  4. Again Cobalt I say this to you-

Sounds like your pretty convinced and have your mind made up concerning biblical truths, you don't know how I keep the sabbath, and yes, there are SDA people breaking all the commandments. But it doesn't change the fact that the SDA church has biblical truth, it will be made very clear to all of us living here on this earth, I believe, in the very near future.

God blessed, sanctified and made holy one day of the week. And that day was the seventh day. It's very apparent and clear that you don't have much knowledge in regards to biblical truth or maybe your just wanting to believe what YOU want to believe.

Show me scripture that proves the highlighted statement you made above is actually true.  I know SDA's go around using this time-worn chestnut over and over again but it presents a problem because you have no scripture anywhere in the Old Testament, pre-Exodus that commands anyone to observe the Sabbath.  We do have, however, clear scripture that God did not establish Mosaic covenants with anyone until the Exodus.  Even then, these covenants were only established with the Jews.

Deuteronomy 5:1-3 Moses summoned all Israel and said: Hear, O Israel, the decrees and laws I declare in your hearing today. Learn them and be sure to follow them.
2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us at Horeb.  3 It was not with our fathers that the LORD made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today.

People have to re-work Luke 23:43 to accommodate a doctrine that a denomination teaches which has no biblical means of support.  In this case, they mess with this verse to alleviate the problem of holding on to the bogus concept of soul sleep.  SDA's teach soul sleep, so Luke 23:43 has to be re-worked to make that teaching viable.  The entire comma issue is a non-starter.  Luke 23:43 does support the SDA concept of soul sleep.

I will ask you the same question I have asked others here:  How can you serve Christ, and be a member of the SDA church at the same time?  How can you have any moral credibility at all to go around advocating Sabbath-keeping when your church-supported hospitals routinely perform elective abortions?

  6. The beneficent Creator, after the six days of Creation, rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of Creation. The fourth commandment of God's unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another. It is a symbol of our redemption in Christ, a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God's kingdom. The Sabbath is God's perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people. Joyful observance of this holy time from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, is a celebration of God's creative and redemptive acts.

That is not the way it works.

You made a statement, no doubt pasted word-for-word from an SDA site, that God established the Sabbath for mankind in Genesis.  I ask you to produce scripture to prove that and you posted . . . nothing.  You cannot produce any, because there is none.  There is no such thing as "supporting itself" without scriptural backing, of which you have none.  I showed you clear scripture that the Sabbath was not established for mankind, specifically, Israel, before the Exodus.   Since that directly refutes your church's statement, you can't do anything with it, so just like others before you have, you ignore it.

You also failed to answer my other question.  Here you are, advocating the observance of the 4th commandment while attending and supporting a denomination that openly practices breaking the 6th commandment by murdering unborn children in its hospitals.  You have no credibility when it comes to morals.  We both also know you are not actually keeping the Sabbath anyway.  You are merely going to church on Saturday instead of Sunday.  That is not keeping the Sabbath.

And we still wait for you to tell us what this "narrow way" is, according to your definition.  Those of us in Christ know what it means.  But none of us here whom you continually hint are not saved know what you mean by it.  Because you attempt to turn every single thread into an issue of who is and is not saved, according to your own personal definition.

Actually, long long ago,  (just in my lifetime),  when YHVH first called me to Himself through Jesus,  and I read and read and read through and through and through Scripture,  seeking from Him understanding as He pleased, as He grants to His chosen ones,  as written throughout OT and NT (for all understanding rests with Him,  just as also the meaning of dreams does) ,

without ever thinking about the comma,  without having anyone say one way or another way concerning this (as far as I know and remember),

I disregarded the false notion from the greek myths that the thief on the cross would be in paradise the same day he died, (also,  since that very concept is from greek (or other) myths that became known to me later , by God's Grace without seeking the myths) ,

so with or without the comma,  (and since the original had no commas at all, most likely, as agreed without contention I think),

there is no harmony with God's Word , no matter where the comma is,  if people think the thief went to heaven when tradition (in error) says it happened.   Oh  , yes,  that's another good indicator ---- when man's tradition says something,  it is usually wrong;  and when man's tradition says something that is not in line with all of God's Word and Plan,  then it certainly is a wrong tradition.

The whole comma thing was never a big deal to me personally. I have done research (extensive same as yourself) to help me with my own personal journey.

Time and time again it didn't add up, the Holy Spirit has helped me. I'm different and frowned upon by many. It's kinda like a huge puzzle and everyday we are getting closer to the grand masterpiece completed. I may not agree with all the SDA claims or practice, but I'm a firm believer that JC died for us and man has confused everything

I always google responses from people that appear to be copied and pasted so that I can read the whole thing for myself and to see who is saying and why .....  I thought is was implied that I Googled the first few lines.  I'm sorry if you thought I just "knew" that.

I just wondered if you had any ideas why all the translations from all the earliest of sources have the comma.  I wasn't wanting an arguement, just a discussion.  I, myself don't know, because I don't read Greek nor Hebrew and just wondered if you had any ideas.
