  1. Thanks for posting this Sparks. I watched this a bit ago and it was informative!
  2. Good morning! You are welcome. Thanks for the input. I read this and the verses really encouraged me too. Yes, I read some of that book a long time ago. Not remembering if I read the whole book or not.
  3. English Standard Version 3 We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, 4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonment, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6 by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; 7 by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8 through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. This gave me much to think about today.
  4. My mother has been cured from cancer. She had surgeries and radiation treatment and she is doing well praise the Lord. She is a christian and it really showed as she was calm and trusting God through the whole thing. Just wanted to share some good news here https://worthychristianforums-h45go6maxh5rpepgu.netdna-ssl.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png
  5. Jesus taught us "Our Father" in the Lord's prayer too. 9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.[a] 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done,[b] on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread,[c] 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.[d] Matthew 6:9-13
  6. Well, if a churches were to regulate it they would also have to cooperate and have a databank with all marriages etc. Who would do this? Who would be responsible? Which denomination? Remember there are also wolves in with the sheep sometimes and people move around quite a bit. They needed a written bill or divorcement so makes sense to get one to get married to me. Also, for the Jewish people they kept records at the temple and the temple made judgements (not sure who at temple did this). Marriage as God intended is for life but even among christians this is not always the case. (Sad but true). Marriage in the New Testament was a formal affair with witnesses etc. Need more coffee.. my morning thoughts https://worthychristianforums-h45go6maxh5rpepgu.netdna-ssl.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png In the OT the Jewish peoples property stayed (was supposed to) with the family if sold was supposed to be returned at Jubilee time. (Please correct me if I am wrong). In our day things are complicated and property is not handled like this so not the same.
  7. Since the demons knew who Jesus was while he was on Earth, according to scripture, Suddenly, a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out, "Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are — the Holy One of God!" — Mark 1:23-24 NLT I am sure Satan was aware of who Jesus is too when he was on Earth and in heaven too (Book of Job).

  9. I read Lamentations this morning. God is sovereign. Lets pray all will turn to the Lord and God's will be done. I pray for all those suffering that they will turn to the Lord for help.
  10. David's son Absolem wanted to murder him and take David's rightful place. David weeped going up the Mount of Olives. Reminds me of Jesus and his time in Gethsemane (garden) on the Mount of Olives weeping drops of blood. Jesus' own people wanted Jesus' rightful place and would not submit to him (as Lord rightful spiritual King) and wanted and tried to kill him many times (Jesus escaped) and later they asked for his death (through Pilate) and Jesus was crucified, died and raised on the third day Romans 8:28
  11. I wonder what the test is for a jealous wife or if a woman suspects her husband of being unfaithful. I wonder why this is not mentioned here? Any ideas?
  12. Exodus 40: It is interesting that Moses was the one who also set up the Holy of Holies with all of the items and not Aaron.
  13. The magicians and sorcerers of Pharaoh could not duplicate all the things that the Lord did through Moses (of course) and also they could not make the plagues STOP either as Moses did which is also miraculous. Pharaoh hardened his heart many times on his own.
  14. I wonder what it means when the demons are looking for "waterless places". When JESUS said "something greater than Jonah is here. " Jesus says "something greater " more than once and I was thinking that he did not say someone greater instead. What do you think?
  15. Noticed that Abraham served the three people milk and curds (cheese?) and meat. Abraham may have thought there were at least 10 people righteous in Sodom. Each person makes a difference And Abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to a young man, who prepared it quickly. 8 Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree while they ate. The Lord himself named Ishmael and Issac.
  16. Melchizedek priest and King of Salem (I have read that Salem is Jerusalem) is not in the line of Aaron. Like Jesus priest and King from the line of Judah. Melchizedek brings bread and wine (like the Lord's supper). Jesus has no true beginning and no end. He existed before he was born and lives forever.
  17. Enoch walked with God and Noah walked with God the bible says. Do you think "walked with God" means? Enoch is mentioned in Jude saying the following : 14 It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” 1
  18. Are the dates that are given, the 601 year, are they the days of Noah's life? Does the Jewish calendar year date start from Noah's life? Just curious? The fish did not die and sea creatures (in general). Man's sin caused the animals and all that to die. I wondered why God did it like that... and then I thought that there would be too many animals versus 8 people. 13 In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry.
  19. When I just read Matthew, I realized that when the wise men came to see Jesus, God's word did NOT say the wise men worshipped Mary and Jesus but ONLY the child Jesus. Later also the word says to take the "child and his mother" to Egypt and Joseph did so. The child is before Mary in the sentence I think there may be significance there too. Glad you pointed out how the Wise men called him "King of the Jews" Ome. Still need to read Genesis passage.
