  1. The context of the post means nothing of the sort. Everything in this post was taken from the writings of Johann Arndt's treaties True Christianity published 1712. This was a famous influential work that has undergone hundreds of translations over the past several centuries. If you have a problem with this quote " But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." Matt 24:13""""" then you have a problem with the words of Christ, James, and John; you should also study Christ's letters to the church in the book of Revelation for understanding. After a week of reading the various posts from the multitude of "Hyper Grace" Paulinist shills on this forum and seeing the way they treat others with their self righteous ramblings, I thought it would be interesting to borrow the writings from Arndt and gauge the response. This christian "fight-club" reminds me of the church I left decades ago. It's quite depressing and I will not be back.
  2. Sorry all, My replies with quotes are freezing my browser and my last reply to Yowm here was just erased. It seems I can't get a proper post out. I don't have time to look into it today. Take care.
  3. Is that what you think my post was about?
  4. What makes you think I haven't ?
  5. Yes, Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
  6. These verses come to mind: From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, declares the LORD. Isaiah 66:21-23 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. Zechariah 14:16 "Give attention to me, my people, and give ear to me, my nation; for a law will go out from me, and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples. My righteousness draws near, my salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands hope for me, and for my arm they wait. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and they who dwell in it will die in like manner; but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will never be dismayed. "Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear not the reproach of man, nor be dismayed at their revilings. For the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool; but my righteousness will be forever, and my salvation to all generations." Isaiah 51:4-8
  7. Witness Lee learned under Watchman Nee but in time started his own movement, the Local Church which had a mixture of Watchman Nee's teachings and some aberrant stuff. I see the cult references to both the JW and the WLs as they are not sola scriptura according to their leaders and info on the net.
  8. This thread is not over yet to make a synopsis, and to be honest, I have no knowledge of the Witness Lee Group that was inferred. I will have to look them up.
  9. I've followed this thread with interest. What cult do you think they are with? Just curious.
  10. After reading many of the postings here, I believe there is absolute danger when the Law is set against Grace. I believe no true interpretation of the scripture can be accurate when the Law of God and Grace are opposing systems in doctrine. If the later were the case, it would mean that God had taken opposing and contradictory attitudes towards men in these two different ages and would be contrary to the character of God who states “I am the Lord, I change not” in Malachi 3:6. Instead of opposing systems, I believe that law and grace, as revealed in the Scriptures, are parts of one harmonious and progressive Godly plan. Many Christian leaders and world governments have publicly repudiated God’s divine Law and made the great things of God’s Law a strange thing. In return, God has visited us with a wave of lawlessness in our nations, churches, homes, schools and social lives. Anything now goes in our lawless generation that is devoid of God’s divine structure. There is nothing to guide the lives and thoughts of the young, assist the middle aged in raising and supporting a godly family or to comfort the old in the spiritual preparation of leaving this world; except the Word which contains the Law of God throughout. Christ said in Luke 24:44: “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.” After reading these words of Christ in the verse above, the question to ask yourself is: Was there anything written by the prophets or in the psalms that Christ would do away with the law? The answer, of course, is a resounding NO! Christ states in Luke 16:17 “It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.” God also declared, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them"; Heb 10:16. Christ said in Matt 5:7 :”I came not to destroy, but to fulfill”; which is not to dissolve the obligations of the law and to release us from them, but to substantiate the law and make good all that it required. But what about “nailing it to the cross” as is commonly taught and proclaimed by those who I believe take Paul’s words in Col 2:14 out of context to make their point against obedience? Actually, Paul is saying that the curse of sin and death, which is exposed by the law of God, is nailed to the cross by Christ’s sacrifice; along with the Old Testament sacrificial law, as Christ was now the sacrifice for our sins. Paul in Romans 8:2 states; “For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” Paul also stated in Rom 2:13; “For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” This present dispensation is spoken of as the age of grace, not because grace belongs to it exclusively, but because in it grace has been fully manifested by the death and resurrection of Christ. When John declared that 'the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ' in John 1:17; he was contrasting law and grace, not as two contrary and irreconcilable systems, but as two related parts of one Godly system. The law was the shadow, Christ was the substance. The law was the pattern, Christ was the reality. The grace which had been behind the law came to light through Jesus Christ so that it could be realized. It is a erroneous conclusion that supposes the Old and New Testaments are antagonistic with each other. The Old Testament is also full of Grace and the New Testament is also full of Law. As a matter of fact, if you thinks about it, grace had been in operation from the beginning. It began in Eden with the first promise of redemption immediately after the fall. All redemption is from God’s grace; there can be no salvation without it, and even the Law itself proceeds on the basis of grace. The Law was given to Israel not that they might be redeemed, but because they had been redeemed. The nation had been brought out of Egypt by the power of God under the blood of the slain lamb, itself the symbol and token of God's grace. The law was added at Sinai as the necessary standard of life for a ransomed people, a people who now belonged to the Lord. It began with a declaration of their redemption; 'I am the Lord thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage' in Ex. 20:2. It rested on the basis of grace, and it embodied the principle that redemption implied a conformity to God's moral order. In other words, the very grace that redeemed Israel carried with it the necessity of revealing the law to Israel. The law was given that they might walk righteously in the relation which they now stood to God their creator as God is holy. The covenant of the law did not supersede the covenant of promise, but set forth the kind of life which those who were redeemed by the covenant of promise were expected to live. The Law was not a covenant of works in the sense that Israel’s salvation depended upon obedience to it. The devout Israelite was saved by faith in the promise of God, which was now embodied in the tabernacle services. He looked forward through the sacrifices to a salvation which they foreshadowed, and by faith accepted it, as we look back to the Cross and by faith accept the salvation which has been accomplished. The Old Testament saints and the New Testament saints are both saved in the same way, and that is, by the grace of God through Jesus Christ alone. Of course the people could not keep the Law. It only brought sin to light and proved that righteousness could not come from their own efforts. It has been often said, and said truly, "The New is in the Old contained and the Old is by the New explained" The Bible and the law as a whole, are not merely for the children of Israel while only certain parts of it are just for the Gentile believers. The Bible is a written revelation from God for the whole congregation of believers, Jew and Gentile alike are one in Messiah! I think the easy believism teachings popular today lead people into dangerous conclusions about spiritual rest and enduring " But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." Matt 24:13
  11. I believe that the tithe amount in the old testament was 10% of the bounty that you received from the harvest of your labors and if you brought money as a tithe offering instead 30% was required. In that era the tithes took the form of animals, land, seeds, and fruits. While land, seed and fruit could be redeemed with money by adding a extra twenty percent, animals could not.
  12. In my time on this earth I've talked to "Christian" active homosexuals. "Christians" who say they can take the Mark because God really knows their hearts. "Christians" who openly cheat on their wives and family while still maintaining leadership roles in their church. And "Christians" who said that they could never love the God of the old testament because he was cruel, but they worship Christ because he was non-judging and is love. But this is a new one for me: Abortion Doctor Says He Kills Babies Because It’s His ‘Christian Calling’ https://www.westernjournal.com/abort...stian-calling/ Abortion Doctor Says He Kills Babies Because It’s His ‘Christian Calling’ By Randy DeSoto April 9, 2018 at 12:12pm A Mississippi OB-GYB recently stated that he sees it as his Christian “calling” to provide abortions. Dr. Willie Parker — who practices at the state’s only abortion facility, located in Jackson — wrote an Op-Ed for Glamour magazine attacking Mississippi’s Gestation Age Act. The legislation, signed by Gov. Phil Bryant last month, bans abortions after 15 weeks (i.e. four months into the pregnancy). The law notes that the unborn baby’s vital organs begin to function at 10 weeks, and by week 12, he or she has taken human form in all relevant aspects. Parker wrote in his Op-Ed, “As an ob-gyn and a Christian, I see it as my calling to help women in making the decisions that are right for their health, their lives, and their families. I believe it’s my duty to meet their needs without judgment. Not only do restrictive laws make it harder for me to do my job — this radical abortion ban is an assault on women across the South.” He argued, “Before the 15-week ban passed, Mississippi patients already faced multiple barriers to abortion, including a mandatory 24-hour waiting period, a mandatory ultrasound law, a 20-week ban, a ban on the use of telemedicine to administer a medication abortion, and a law that requires a minor to get parental consent before obtaining an abortion.” In an interview with AlterNet, Parker explained how he tries to ease women’s guilt about obtaining an abortion. A substantial portion of his practice is made up of African-Americans. “Many women of color are deeply religious, and I’m quite comfortable talking about the moral and spiritual center,” he explained. “So, I add that dimension to the care I provide. I call it dignity restoration.” Parker continued, “I sense when a woman is dealing with guilt and shame and I’m offer a bridging conversation around faith and the sacred decision of whether to end her pregnancy. Yesterday, for example, one patient was praying and asking for forgiveness, and so I explored that with her.” “For many women, there is a tremendous amount of relief in not being turned away. … There is relief in no longer being pregnant but also relief in someone seeing that ‘I’m not a bad person,’” he stated. 13. LOL! Is that all you got? There is no way you could have read or absorbed the info I took the time to post that supports what you call my "opinion". I took the time to read what you presented. And your one liners and lack of considering contradictory research and evidence shows you are not objective, a scientist or a critical thinker. There are real scientists and archeologists who actually have invested a lifetime in these fields of research dispelling the fraudulent theories in search of the real truths. My weather example in logic has already dispelled your OPINION as man cannot accurately forecast the past. We cannot know all the different conditions that have existed on Earth and to which rocks may have been subject. So, the emphatic statement that decay rates are absolutely constant overall in time is a belief, or a OPINION, not a fact. So radiometric dating is not objective. For example: Even while molten rock is liquid, radioactive isotopes will decay producing daughter isotopes and these will be able to move in the liquid to ascertain extent. But when the magma solidifies it is assumed that the rock becomes a closed system and all subsequent changes between the parent and daughter are locked inside the solid rock. So can we calculate the age of the rock? No, because we don’t know how much of the daughter isotope was in the rock when it solidified. So how can we calculate a date? We would have to "assume" how much daughter element was in the rock when it formed. Another difficulty can arise if a rock has undergone metamorphism, that is, if the rock got very hot, but not hot enough to completely re-melt the rock. Some of the minerals may have completely melted, while others did not melt at all, so some minerals try to give the igneous age while other minerals try to give the metamorphic age. In these cases, the dates look confused, and do not lie along a line. This is the fatal flaw of radiometric dating. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. That the earth is still degassing is also a problem for old earthers, but the age can be salvaged by making assumptions or OPINIONS about the radioactive decay of material in the mantle—all of which cannot be observed. The French philosopher Laplace (1749–1827) published his nebula hypothesis in 1796. When Napoleon commented that Laplace never mentioned the Creator, Laplace said, ‘I do not need that hypothesis’. You materialists continually make this assertion, that you can explain everything without the Creator Elohim, but that is not true. Observations in our solar system are more and more contradicting the nebula hypothesis, which is repeatedly salvaged and reinvented by inventing more and more secondary hypotheses, which are more and more miraculous in their effect. The point is that the interpretive framework drives the interpretation of the evidence. The Bible says that death and decay is the consequence of mankind’s sin, but if the world is millions of years old then death and decay was here long before man sinned and death or decay has nothing to do with sin. The age of the earth is foundational to the scriptures and belief in Elohim the Creator. As Believers in the Most High we are supposed to understand things in spirit and in truth. We are currently residing in this three dimensional construct but our spirit, soul, and thoughts are capable of going beyond our present confines into other dimensions. The supernatural cannot be explained by three dimensional science. No need for another one-liner reply as I will sign-off this thread for lack of time and interest in further one-liner discussion and will probably ignore any other posts I see from you in the future.
  14. It's not opinion: http://www.icr.org/i/pdf/research/rate-all.pdf http://www.icr.org/rate2
  15. You are just regurgitating your indoctrinated hypothesizes with little or no real research or experience of these sciences. Some of these theories and dating techniques have already been challenged and proven to be flawed. "Observation and logic conclusively show" that if man cannot predict, with accuracy, what the typical weather pattern will actually be, from day to day, that he cannot be trusted with regressing back 6000 plus years in time and dictate anything that transpired in that age.
