  4. The Bible can and is, taken too literally on some things and then on others some say thats not to be taken literally! You cant win! Interpretation. All down to that. Every day someone comes out with the 'End is nigh' statement!
  5. About to be shaken. I wonder how many people down the centuries have said that when times looked bleak.
  6. Read what the Pope said. He did NOT say the boys father was in heaven. This thread is about Catholic bashing and thats that! Definitely out of here now!
  7. Hd never said that the boys dad is in heaven! Get over it for goodness sake! Stop the Catholic bashing buddy!
  8. Back to post a true source for what the pope said: http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2018/04/16/is-my-dad-in-heaven-little-boy-asks-pope/ After circling a massive, crumbling public housing complex on the outskirts of Rome, Pope Francis had an emotional encounter with the neighbourhood’s children. Question-and-answer sessions with youngsters are a standard part of Pope Francis’ parish visits. And, at St Paul of the Cross parish on April 15, there were the usual questions like, “How did you feel when you were elected Pope?” But then it was Emanuele’s turn. The young boy smiled at the pope as he approached the microphone. But then froze. “I can’t do it,” Emanuele said. Mgr Leonardo Sapienza, a papal aide, encouraged the boy, but he kept saying, “I can’t.” “Come, come to me, Emanuele,” the Pope said. “Come and whisper it in my ear.” Msgr. Sapienza helped the boy up to the platform where the pope was seated. Emanuele was sobbing by that point, and Pope Francis enveloped him in a big embrace, patting his head and speaking softly to him. With their heads touching, the Pope and the boy spoke privately to each other before Emanuele returned to his seat. “If only we could all cry like Emanuele when we have an ache in our hearts like he has,” the Pope told the children. “He was crying for his father and had the courage to do it in front of us because in his heart there is love for his father.” Pope Francis said he had asked Emanuele if he could share the boy’s question and the boy agreed. “‘A little while ago my father passed away. He was a nonbeliever, but he had all four of his children baptised. He was a good man. Is dad in heaven?'” “How beautiful to hear a son say of his father, ‘He was good,'” the Pope told the children. “And what a beautiful witness of a son who inherited the strength of his father, who had the courage to cry in front of all of us. If that man was able to make his children like that, then it’s true, he was a good man. He was a good man. “That man did not have the gift of faith, he wasn’t a believer, but he had his children baptised. He had a good heart,” Pope Francis said. “God is the one who says who goes to heaven,” the Pope explained. The next step in answering Emanuele’s question, he said, would be to think about what God is like and, especially, what kind of heart God has. “What do you think? A father’s heart. God has a dad’s heart. And with a dad who was not a believer, but who baptised his children and gave them that bravura, do you think God would be able to leave him far from himself?” “Does God abandon his children?” the Pope asked. “Does God abandon his children when they are good?” The children shouted, “No.” Nowhere does the Pope tell the child that his dad is going heaven!
  9. Revelation 1 1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants what must soon take place; and he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads aloud the words of the prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written therein; for the time is near.
  10. Revelation is not to be taken literally. It was written at a time when people looked at things differently. We look at it with 'modern' eyes. As a partial preterist, i believe most of Revelation has been and gone. But, thats for another time to discuss.
  11. Had my say in this thread. Out of here now. God bless and protect you all. God bless our Pope too.
  12. We are all born, children of God. Created by God. We have 2 paths in life. One that continues to lead to God, another where it leads to hell. Lucifer started out on his journey 'with' God but then went down his very own path!
  13. I didnt mention 'beasts of the earth etc!' Lol
  14. Thing is, since the birth of Christianity there has been many tribulations etc etc. I bet when the early church was being persecuted they thoubt the time was nigh! Same throughout history. Many many nasty, evil times have gone.
  15. He was created by God was he not? Thus, he was indeed a child of God!
  16. You tell me? They had 'become' children of satan. Just like, satan was once a child of God! He became fallen!
  17. More to it than just black and white. They had become children of satan!
  18. We are all the children of God. God created us all. Gave us all souls. Jesus is mercy and love. He would be compassionate with the child, not harsh like many of you. You are rooted in Sola Scripture. You cannot see passed the rear cover of the Bible! I believe Jesus would be so much more caring than what many of you make out. I applaud the Pope for being compassionate to such a young child.
  19. Kids dont know but i agree with you. It has to stop!
  20. Jesus talks through His clergy. Jesus would be caring to such a young soul. He would be compassionate. Nobody knows for sure How things work out when we die. God is merciful and loving. Can you see Jesus putting His loving arms around the little kid and telling him that His dad is rotting in hells fire? Come on! Really?
