  1. Epic scene! It surprises me that there still isn't a big movie production of the Book of Daniel, as it lends itself to such vivid scenes. The only ones I have seen out there are sorely low-budget unfortunately. Love & Shalom
  2. Shalom @Walter and Deborah One of the more mysterious passages in the Bible. I wonder how this will all play out in the future, when we can say "Yahweh Shammah!" How exciting. Thank you for sharing. Love & Shalom
  3. Well, I for one appreciated the your post @Deadworm. Thank you for sharing.
  4. Shalom @JacquelineDeane55 I have had some experience in spiritual warfare in the ministry I used to work for. However, what should first be established is whether this attack is from demons or the flesh. Some assume that all negativity and thoughts contrary to Yahweh’s way is because of the Satan or demons. Sometimes it can be, but most times it is not. The sinful flesh has a real way of rebelling and seeming like a demonic attack at times. Therefore, in order to be effective in prayer, diagnosis of the situation is paramount. Now, you say that you sometimes hear Satan speak to you. How does this play out exactly and what does the voice say? – if you feel comfortable in sharing. When would you say the attack is at it’s strongest exactly? Or what activity is it most present within? Try to be exact if you are comfortable in doing so. Do you or your family have any history in dabbling in other religions, cults or paranormal practices / spiritual invocations? Do you have anything in your house that could be perceived as an idol, a tribute to a foreign god, or celebration of foreign deity / principle? Love & Shalom
  5. Shalom @Ervin P When we die, we go to Sheol. This word is often translated as "grave" in English translations. According to the Book of Enoch and 2 Esdras (which was part of the 1611 KJV and only removed as recently as the late 1800s) Sheol is separated into several sections. However, to keep it simple for now, there are two principle sections - one side for the elect and one side for everyone else. Sheol is what is reflected in the Messiah's story about Lazarus, who was on the "good side" (called "Abraham's Bosom") and the rich man was on the "bad side". As for Hell or the lake of fire, this has yet to be filled with Satan, his angels and all those destined to go there - post resurrection and post judgement day. I hope that helps. Love & Shalom
  6. Shalom @Greenie I feel your pain here. I was in a very similar scenario not long ago. First and foremost, focus on your own walk for now. I realise the stress and the urge you feel to have your partner “come along with you”, but the truth of the matter is that it isn’t always going to work like that. You’ll serve her the best by first working on you and establishing your own faith. This will give her a strong framework and example to cling to and follow, rather than the poor examples she has witnessed in the church she was hurt by. This worked for me and my partner, by the grace of God. That in her witnessing the change and passion in me, it set an example to her and encouraged her faith, more than any conversation or clever debate would. All praise to Yahweh and thanks to our Lord Yahushua (Jesus Christ). In essence, what I’m saying is you need to hand her and her faith into the hands of our Father – as scary as that is and irresponsible as you might feel it is! He works with all of us in different timings, in different ways and even in various forms of communication. Some move quickly, some move slowly. But no one should be dragged along reluctantly, forced regularly or guilted into it. I’m sure you have handled the matter with delicacy, but even the most mildest touch about God can be perceived as a push by some people. I’m not guaranteeing you will see results straight away. I didn’t. At times I wondered if her heart would ever change! However, I kept establishing my walk and praying for her privately every day and Yahweh was faithful to open her eyes to the truth – in the speed appropriate for her. Now, concerning you and your faith. If you are feeling that you aren’t “there” yet, that salvation isn’t assured and that there is work to be done in your life, the chances are you are correct. And yet, rejoice in that brother! For disciplining and corrections are signs of a Father who loves us and not one who has cast us aside to feel content in our ignorance. May I ask, what do you find the most challenging when it comes to reading the Bible? What is it that causes the confusion? I may know of a reliable teaching that could assist you. I typically only recommend wise teachers who know the whole Word, through and through, and do not push man-made interpretations or theology with it. On this matter, you are wise to be cautious of the interpretations by men. There are many out there who deceive accidentally but even some who do so intentionally. Reading multiple versions of the Bible is okay but the less literal ones are better to stay away from really. As sometimes the subtly of a verse can be misunderstood when too much poetic license is taken in some English versions. However, if you take only one thing away from my reply, let it be this: Do all it takes to reach the stage of having peace in salvation. This comes through the Word of Yahweh and the Holy Spirit, sent to us in the Messiah’s name. If I told you that salvation was at the top of Mount Everest for you to collect for free, I’m sure you would do all you could to climb up there! How much easier it is to digest the whole Bible? So study it with the same diligence of university student preparing for his Master’s Degree. Think about it with the same love and passion you would apply to a favourite hobby. And remember to pray for wisdom each day. If you do all these things you will then find real peace and the answer for everything. May Yahweh bless you with wisdom, insight and peace and open the heart of your partner in due course. Again, if there is anything in particular that is getting you confused or is a struggle to understand, please feel free to ask me or this forum. Love & Shalom
  7. Shalom @LittleMan123 Indeed, the Bible uses masculine pronouns when referring to Him as does Yahweh Himself, as well as His Son. Also masculine titles such as Father, Husband, Strong Man and Warrior are applied to Him. However, we shouldn't get caught up in trying to understand Yahweh as a "male" per se. Because assigning Yahweh a "gender", in our earthly understanding, implies that He is a male-type for a female-counterpart, which isn't true. Therefore, it's good to refer to Yahweh as He, Him and Father and understand Him as such, but not necessarily limit Him with our term "male", if that makes sense! Love & Shalom
  8. Shalom @Josheb I agree. The more I study the matter, the less likely it seems that a third Temple will be built. It's not a common opinion, so I'm delighted to read that someone else also has this point of view. Love & Shalom
  9. Shalom friend, That's my point - there was no stone left upon another at the place where the Second Temple actually stood. The "Western Wall" was neither connected to the Temple or part of its outer courtyard. After the Jewish War that led to the Temple's destruction the remaining Jews were dispersed for many years across the nations. Upon returning to the land, whether Jew or Gentile, the location of Temple could only be approximated and not pinpointed. Thankfully today we have the resources to do these things (as that documentary will show you). But in summary, no, the Second Temple was completely destroyed - no brick was left upon another, and it definitely wasn't observable centuries later. IT became ruins and then a land ploughed by farmers. I hope that helps in some way. Love & Shalom
  10. Shalom @Open7 I like your idea and illustration and your heart behind it. However, I think it's best to try and keep the illustration as simple and relatable as possible. Because whilst you have depicted Grace in a clever way, some could misunderstand it easily. You also run the risk of making Grace sound like a spiritual force (to the new-ager) rather than gift granted to us. Perhaps think of a practical, real-world example of grace that everyone could understand. Try using an illustration of a King and a Subject, a Judge and a Criminal or a Father and a Son. Something from daily life that's easily understandable, translatable and closer to the truth. Keep up the good work. Love & Shalom
  11. Shalom @BibleReader If someone were to say "Babylon is the USA!" and it wasn't true, they simply got their theory wrong and misunderstood prophecy. Case closed, no harm done. However, if someone were to say "Thus says Yahweh: Babylon is the USA!" and it wasn't true, that would be bad news for them. Sharing ideas or interpretations of prophecies is fine and should be encouraged in the church. But when people start to say they have been given insight or a word by Yahweh directly yet it proves to be false... danger zone. Yahweh is really not fond of false prophets who use His name falsely to lead men astray, as Jeremiah 23 details. But again, conjecture, theories and discussions are fine and should be embraced. Love & Shalom
  12. Shalom @BibleReader Forgive me if this comment has been made by another already, but the Temple wasn't actually on the "Temple Mount". The "Western Wall" is the outer retaining wall of the old Roman Fortress "Antonia". The Temple's actual placement was within the City of David, as described by Scripture, and so about 600ft to the South of the Temple Mount. That plato was used as a stronghold even by the Jews back in the times of the Greek Empire, to overlook the Temple proceedings below them. But then it was heavily fortified much later by the Roman Empire. This misunderstanding of the where the Temple was has been thorough researched and proven by a few scholars now, but most noticeably Bob Cornuke. The evidence really does speak for itself. Sadly, the Jews refuse to accept it (as I guess it would mean they were wrong yet again) and they have a made an idol out of a wall from old Roman Fortress. It's very sad and frustrating. So it's best to ignore the typical artist rendition model of the Temple which is based upon the proportions of the Antonia Fortress and impossibly squeezes in thousands of Roman guards in an adjoining building which wouldn't even be suitable for hundred. For more information and to view the evidence, check out THIS documentary or read THIS excellent book. Love & Shalom
  13. Very interesting @Resurrection Priest I'm looking forward to see if anyone has some insight into this. Love & Shalom
  14. You're very welcome @ChrisRizzy Anything said or written with enough confidence is generally received as a 'fact' and poetic expression naturally exudes an appearance of wisdom. But you weren't caught out! You were wise to be concerned and investigate the matter further. Surely, Almighty Yahweh has His hand upon you. Love & Shalom
  15. Shalom @ChrisRizzy I don't know man, it doesn't sound like anything in Scripture to me. It reads like a poetic line that sounds good and impressive, but is without a foundation in wisdom and basically incorrect. "There is a kingless throne in Jerusalem..." Oh really? Where is it then? You'll find no throne in Jerusalem until the Messiah returns. "..and a throneless King in heaven" I won't bore you with the many Scriptures that contradict this, but here is just a couple: "The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne." - Rev 3:21 "At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne." - Rev 4:2 Be cautious of this Christian writer. They were probably just trying to be poetic, but it's best not to learn from those who are sharing inaccurate statement. Love & Shalom
  16. Shalom @enoob57 Thanks for your comment. Obviously I have read Galatians many times as I have with all of the Scriptures. So I take all of that into consideration, of course. But surely your advice is not to tell someone to not obey Him, when they are willing to with eagerness. There's trying to be obedient to be seen as righteous, like a child boasting in school about his grades, which is wrong. Then, there is obedience which is out of love and willingness, like a child who learns humbly in school to grow and refine, which is right. Then there is one who does neither, but just accepts his membership of the school only as sufficient And finally there are those who refuse obedience and acknowledgment altogether, those out of school entirly - the unbelievers. At least, that's my opinion. May Yahweh open both of our eyes more on this matter. Love & Shalom
  17. Shalom @Ineedhugs Good post and responses from you. You are definitely on the right track my friend, so praise Yahweh. Now, there will obviously always be a crowd who will respond "no you can't keep any command, trust in Jesus alone". You're free to follow their advice if you wish. They seek only to love one another and give charitably - which are admirable traits but it also makes them no different to some Buddhists, Muslims and even Athesists who want and do the very same things. But to avoid starting unnecessary conflict in the forum, all I will say is that the person's heart is vitally important on this matter of obedience, more than adherence itself... Firstly, let's suppose the commands were "impossible to keep" as some profess. Well then, the pretext needs to be accepted that God set us up for failure or didn't understand our limitations well enough. An odd assumption, which has to be accepted for this premise to be true. Secondly, let's the suppose the commands don't need to be obeyed in order to achieve salvation (which I believe, as salvation is a gift of grace). Well then, how should we act in our new life of freedom and liberty? And how should we think of His commands He kept recorded for us diligently in the Word? Should we say "Nah, I don't need to do anything because I'm free"? Or should we say "Now I am free, I choose to walk the ways He commanded"? If you fail at keeping the commands, it's expected and provision has be made for your failures. However, it will surely be credited to you for good if you attempt them and are willing to try to obedient - when you're free NOT to be. However, if you won't even try and say "none of His commands matter when you have the free gift of grace" or "no one can follow His commands" then how should we imagine that person to be recieved? Finally, imagine you had two children whom you instructed in a certain ways before you left the house for a short trip. Throygh the house's security camera, you saw one child try to follow your rules with effort but occasionally mess up. Nevertheless, the would preserve to obey you with diligence. However, the other child doesn't obey you at all and says "he is my father and, even if i don't obey, i will still be his son regardless". Now, who would you reward upon your return? Love & Shalom
  18. Shalom @Gideon What a great post brother. May Yahweh bless you for your good heart. Yes, it seems that many Christians today live to the same standards as the rest of the world - hyper sensitive, eager to be offended rather than corrected, deal in "relative truth" and distort words out of context to accuse and abuse and self-justify. What makes this worse than the world is that they do this in the name of the Lord and grace. But it fills me with gladness to read posts like yours and that of a few others who seek the ways of the Lord in humility, regardless of the cost involved or adjustment needed to incorrect but long-standing beliefs. Love & Shalom
  19. Shalom Echo, As I understand it, and I may be wrong, the scenario is this. New Jerusalem arrives and everyone is resurrected. Most are on the outside and the righteous are on the inside. The righteous are raised with bodies, like we have now but better, and live in New Jerusalem in the 1000 years of the Messiah’s reign. The righteous therefore effectively get the fullness of the days like the early fathers, instead of 100 years lifespan we today. This is fulfilling His promises to His people perfectly and literally - as the world we live in now with these bodies have not inherited that promise yet. Now, as to how many days those people have, it may be down to the judgment that they have incurred from THIS life. As you will learn from the New Testament, all believers must give account for their deeds as well. There is a price to pay for those who say they belong to the Lord but act contrary and Yahweh will not be mocked. So it seems some will be saved from the day of wrath that is to come, but they will come under examination too. Anyway, it seems that some will not die at all. Some will reach the end of the 1000 year reign, when the final judgement of all is decided. They will then be translated into a new form, a form likened to bright stars, and they will live forever with the Father and the Son on the New Earth and Heavens. I hooe I haven't made matters seem more confusing! Love & Shalom
  20. I didn't suggest there were 7 Noahide Laws, that was you. I was talking about the covenant with all of nations in Genesis 9, which had some commands, and was confirmed in the rainbow, which we still have today as proof of its standing. It's absolutely fine that you think differently though, I was only sharing my opinion. I know of Stephen Pidgeon too (and his decent work with the Cepher) but I don't agree with everything he says, especially his word studies. But that's fine also. Love & Shalom
  21. Shalom @1to3 The law of the Noahide Covenant is for all of mankind, believers and unbelievers. They were given to our forefathers in the flesh of Shem, Japtheth and Ham - whichever we come from. And, whether they have been passed down correcrly or not, the laws still stand for all nations as a bare minimum. The disciple shouldn't limit themselves to the Noahide covenant commands and think they are walking righteously. Now, it's not dangerous to pay heed to those commands but it also doesn't make the disciple special in anyway. Adherence to these basics is expected. So, if anyone who claims to be a disciple yet drinks or eats blood or murders another is a liar. To put it simply, if Torah is our schoolmaster then the Noahide commands are like Nursery - the real fundamental basics. You don't contemplate lessons from Nursery for the rest of your life, but you also don't forget the simple standards about interaction that they taught you. Therefore, the teaching which is gaining traction amongst some Jews that Gentiles need only obey the Noahide Covenant to be right before Yahweh is either without wisdom or intentionally deceptive. For those laws do not lead you into righteous behaviour, but instead prohibit you from doing great evil. That's my view anyway. Love & Shalom
  22. Shalom @Michael37 I would say it depends on the specifics of the situation. A Christian group - the person should assess how they can reason with the "dominator". But, if the dominator refuses to be reasonable, it would be better for the person to try to live harmoniously with them for the sake of the group. But if they do decide to leave because of it, they shouldn't cast blame or discredit on anyone as they do so, so as not to be an accuser of the brethern or sow discord. A Non-Christian group - the person needs to really assess carefully whether the group is worthwhile and whether its benefits outweigh the negatives significantly. But if they decide to leave as this "dominator" makes the group too uncomfortable, then they do no wrong. Love & Shalom
  23. Shalom @Tyler22 It's good to hear you are still on this journey with God and making some good progress. But I'm not sure I understand your question. Is it that you think to be merciful to others is self-loathing or asking for mercy? Love & Shalom
  24. That's funny @XRose. Maybe the professor made the link because he heard that "the Godfather" was there What's sad is that I'm sure some will believe him, because of the professional presentation and letters after his name. Some people trade with such things instead of logic and fact. By the way, HERE is a fantastic short documentary on YT which tracks the Exodus to Mt Sinai, with actual observable evidence. Love & Shalom
