  1. Do you have any Christian Literature that you: suggest to others or really enjoyed or really had a impact on you or help you realize something or taught you something? ???
  2. no its just another possible opportunity. its better that money is used that way than spent away into debt which is so common among those that win the lottery. I don't see how buying a lottery ticket for an opportunity to win money you wish to put toward others showing a lack of faith in God's ability. I also dont see how it could be said he is "helping" God by buying a ticket either. This is like saying getting two jobs is showing a lack of faith because you want to put that money towards helping others or that you are trying to "help" God do whatever. granted working is earning while winning is just being given money just because your name was drawn. But I don't understand how you can link these. at the end of the day, I do still believe generally lottery tickets are unwise.
  3. Im not consistent on anything in a daily manner. I do read at least weekly but when I read, its in long periods, like hours at a time. Its just how I operate, im this way with anything. My goal is every other day honestly. I usually use the KJV and I find that study bibles grab my attention more because they help me to remember and the text is in sections so it makes it easier to stop and pick up again. I do like the NLT and ESV too though. Actually I just bought the life application study bible because i have heard so many good things about it, and I started it yesterday and I am really enjoying it. It helps me anyway. Phones are nice for quick scripture reflection and devotionals. Actually you can do so much with phones now, I suppose you can play a podcast music while doing other things. I do that while doing dishes often.
  4. ? haha well i suppose that's a good point too.
  5. yeah those are good too. we plan on having those next after we finish these baked beans with hotdogs in it so that way all the hotdogs from summer are used up. i like clam chowder but i dont make it. i actually avoid food from the water unless we are eating out. You hear all kinds of stories of radiation from the ocean and poor conditions in farms. dont know what to believe, but God takes care of us. Catfish is super yum but that is a summer thing and i dont make that either haha. I figured once in a while couldn't hurt anyway. plus i suppose there are some really good things in fish that you dont get from other food. I love chicken noodle soup but my husband not so much so we dont have it as often in the autumn/winter as i would like.
  6. hmm fall foods? well when i think of fall foods its usually desserts. like snickerdoodles and apple things. I hate pumpkin things. I love apple cider. I haven't tried squash and I would like to try it sometime soon. I'm sure its good, I just have to find out how to cook it. sometimes i put it in soup with other veggies but i'd like to try it as a main thing sometime. Usually when fall approaches, since living on my own, my husband and I tend to move towards warm foods like chicken noodles, soups, and other things made in the crock pot like roast or corn beef we bought months before when it was on sale. We end up eating more potatoes and rolls with our dinners; and more veggies in the colder months than the warm which is kinda odd now that I think about it. This week, we have baked beans with hot dogs cut up in it with a roll. I am not sure anyone eats that anymore but I ate it alot growing up. I think this is the second time my husband and I had this for dinners since being married. we had some baked beans left over from this summer so i thought this is an easy way to get through them.
  7. I find that finding a smaller church helps. sometimes they have bible studies or book clubs in small groups like mens or womens study. This I try to do though there is no one my age that is there. beyond that, I just go to books. There are lots of christians who write books or even study bibles that i find nice. Its some kind of communication and online forums and social sites however that is more like hi as you are passing by usually. Its worse if your socializing skills aren't good for one reason or another.
  8. That's another thing, no one my age seems to be attending church either. those ive met online my age who attend church live miles away so its not like i can visit them.
  9. I'm a young adult in usa not even 30. I have met many other people my age also struggling to have friends or socialization really. I am not sure if this is a generational thing or not. Has anyone else struggled with friends or having socialization growing into adulthood or being in early adulthood? I know there are circumstances that may be a part of this like tiredness from working or school or children but it seems to be more difficult than it should be. Other's i've talked to has had the same experience of setting time aside to spend with someone and they either say ok and then not put in any effort and then nothing happens or they say no. Its like "let's be friends but with lots of distance?" I know we live in a busy age, but sometimes its nice to hang with someone for a few hours face to face instead of over fb or some other online method. I have heard alot of my generation suffers with anxiety.
  10. I believe what the bible describes as literal when it comes to the size of peoples and I also believe the many cultures around the world that describe the similar thing of giants. Native Americans have alot to say about these people and where i live there are mounds where they have found some interesting corpses. Other places around the world have also found interesting corpses that were not forged and neither were they merely deformed. Skulls that were board wrapped are different in structure than skulls born to have that shape. the number of bones and the sutures of the skull are different. as for the article posted i am honestly skeptical about its trustworthiness. however i am just a common everyday person.
