  1. That I may know HIM...Philippians 3:10 The testimony of Jesus is that of His Life triumphant in resurrection, and everything has to be tested by this; not a matter of fascination, sensation, interest, apparent solution of mental perplexities, but whether it is Life, mighty, liberating, with an impact upon darkness, desolation, and death. And Jesus is that Life. Then, let us make all our quest to be - "That I may know HIM."
  2. Not I but Christ...Galatians 2:20 Let us seek grace for the fiery furnace in the light of the explanation, that it is neither what is of Christ that is being tested in us, nor any good within ourselves, but that which is NOT Christ, should disappear, that it should be Christ and only Christ. T. Austin Sparks
  3. For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 1 Cor 2:2 The meaning of the Cross is this: that there is that which God has fully and finally rejected, forsaken, and handed over to death, and He will never change His attitude toward it. For that there is no remedy, there is no healing. God has turned His face from it forever to have nothing to do with it. There is that in this universe, in this creation, which God has abandoned, forsaken, and handed over to death, and which He does not attempt to remedy. Till you and I have grasped that, we do not know the meaning of the Cross. Now, it is the recognition and acceptance of that fact, that truth, that reality, or the ignoring or rejection of it that determines whether the way is closed or open. That is the principle of the Cross. It is very utter. T. Austin Sparks
  4. Hi Rebecca. Thank you for your post. This spoke to me simultaneously with your scripture. The Holy Spirit's way with us is to bring us into living, actual conditions and situations, and needs, in which only some fresh knowledge of the Lord Jesus can be our deliverance, our salvation, our life, and then to give us, not a revelation of truth, but a revelation of the Person, new knowledge of the Person, that we come to see Christ in some way that just meets our need. We are not drawing upon an "it," but upon a "Him." T. Austin Sparks
  5. And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses. Leviticus 10:9-11
  6. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled, And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses. Leviticus 10:5-7
  7. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. Leviticus 10:3 The most quieting considerations under affliction are fetched from the word of God. What was it that God spake? Though Aaron's heart must have been filled with anguish and dismay, yet with silent submission he revered the justice of the stroke. When God corrects us for sin, it is our duty to accept the punishment, and say, It is the Lord, let him do what seemeth him good. Whenever we worship God, we come nigh unto him, as spiritual priests. This ought to make us very serious in all acts of devotion. It concerns us all, when we come nigh to God, to do every religious exercise, as those who believe that the God with whom we have to do, is a holy God. He will take vengeance on those that profane his sacred name by trifling with him. Matthew Henry Bible Commentary
  8. The Death of Nadab and Abihu And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Leviticus 10:1-2 Next to Moses and Aaron, none were more likely to be honourable in Israel than Nadab and Abihu. There is reason to think that they were puffed up with pride, and that they were heated with wine. While the people were prostrate before the Lord, adoring his presence and glory, they rushed into the tabernacle to burn incense, though not at the appointed time; both together, instead of one alone, and with fire not taken from the altar. If it had been done through ignorance, they had been allowed to bring a sin-offering. But the soul that doeth presumptuously, and in contempt of God's majesty and justice, that soul shall be cut off. The wages of sin is death. They died in the very act of their sin. Matthew Henry Bible Commentary
  9. Hey Sis! You're cool! Big smile! The Lord made this verse so very real to me through T. A. Sparks' teaching! All glory and honor and praise to Him~
  10. @turtletwo Thanks, Sis! And blessings. All of Christ and none of me. In all reality and truth. Oh to know the wisdom and love of God and to love with the same! Nothing human, but Divine!
  11. Hi Mike and blessings. Yes, I have heard of the Higgs Boson's God Particle and the Hadron Particle Collider. A brother introduced me to Newton/Einstein theoretical physics years ago. Watched Brian Greene's Elegant Universe on NPR. Interesting.
  12. Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him...Job 13:15
  13. @Turtletwo what can I say? Thanks for posting perhaps my favorite song, but the life/anointing of Joshua's rendition...45 years later...greater? Blessings, In Him
