When I pray do I have to use a certain tone?
Kinison replied to Ryan2203's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Pray what you feel. You don't have to speak eloquently or formally. "Lord Jesus, I need a lawnmower. Amen" When I wake up in the morning, I say "Good morning, Father." When I eat, I just say "Thank you, Lord." Your methods may vary. -
Same here. If I tried to run, I'd be sucking wind so bad that anyone with a half mile of me would suffer from oxygen deprivation.

What do you guys think of the heartbeat bill?
Kinison replied to Figure of eighty's topic in General Discussion
Far better ways to deal with a baby born from rape. There are tons of couples (some with infertility issues) who would LOVE to adopt. -
To echo what a previous user posted, I liken it to eating food sacrificed to idols. The thing that bothers me is not the physical exercise, but the "emptying of mind" or whatever the goal is. IMO, clearing the mind is akin to the Scripture talking about the man's house being clean and in order, with the expelled spirit returning with a bunch of his buddies.

Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again. ~ Isaiah 52:1

Sacrifice and offering you did not desire but my ears you have opened. Burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require. Then I said, “Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll. I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” ~ Psalm 40:6-8

Before the internet, back in 1994, I bought their 1974 self titled debut. During that time, I was only familiar with the Volz/Schlitt eras, so you can imagine my shock when I heard THIS gem:

HUGE Petra fan here. Have every studio album they put out. Grave Robber has a very significant place in my heart. My mom passed away from cancer in 2008, and this song serves a reminder that I will see her once more when I enter the Kingdom. (I actually prefer this version of Grave Robber to the original.)

Those are the verses of the Shema. My godparents learned it when they went to Israel last October, and they had the Hebrew verses transliterated to English, and we would sing it before Sunday School. Shema Yisrael Adonai Eloheynu Adonai Echad Baruch Shem Kevod Malchu'to Leolam Vaed

I definitely would like to go to the Ramp sometime. They're in Hamilton, Alabama, just 300 miles from me, so that's not too bad a drive. I did get to go to IHOP in Kansas City a couple years ago for my 40th birthday, which was a really great experience.

I've seen Kutless, Disciple, Seventh Day Slumber, Decyfer Down and Fireflight several times over the 2007-2009 period. I saw Skillet once in 2009.
