  1. Thank you Tzephanyahu. I actually preached bit on lament in church today. We modern Christians tend not to do lament well. Pastors would rather preach on happier passages, but lament is also part of God's inspired word. Blessings to you Tzeph.
  2. What about lament? It's also biblical. Since it's also in God's inspired Word, it should be welcome as well. How long o Lord will you forget me and let tragedy win against me?
  3. I don't love being shouted at. I guess @frienduff thaylorde is your friend. That's kewl. It doesn't excuse shouting at me though. How to be better Christian? Speak truth in love.
  4. I don't imagine they said much of anything. Probably just growled.
  5. Gospel is only proclamation that should be in Christian pulpits. Every sermon must serve in building Jesus' Church. For test's faith in that Gospel. There are cults in world today, with schemes for humanity's social improvement. They all are trash when it comes to question: What must I do to be saved? For this there's only one answer. They that believe and are baptized shall be saved. Faith in Jesus through Gospel and accepting of benefits of Christ's salvation through Baptism, that's only way to become sure of bliss. Jesus' words impress. Where there's no faith in his salvation, damnation will follow.
  6. Does God love God's glory more than God love's God's Creation? Why no, no God doesn't.
  7. If that was intent, screaming doesn't serve poster well.
  8. Using caps is screaming. I don't appreciate being yelled at. There was no reason to correct me as he did.
  9. I never said it isn't in Bible frienduff. Why hostility?
  10. I see nothing wrong with monetizing, so long as you're honest about fact that you're doing so.
  11. Seems like no one was around to answer on Saturday. Do you still need to talk?
  12. No, I don't think so, because... Hold phone, there are dinosaurs on other planets?
  13. I think it may be hypocritically possible. Important thing is that baptism be done in name of Father, and of Son, and of Holy Spirit. That said, why would you want to baptize yourself?
  14. My belief is that they can't pray orientation away, but that they can through prayer keep from engaging in same-sex behavior.
  15. No, it isn't sin. Why would it be? What would be sin would be to idolize soccer, to worship it.
  16. Vast majority of people can hear themselves speak.
  17. It may or may not have been receiving of gift of tongues. It seems that you've wanted this gift, since you prayed for it and since you want it to be said gift. That said, it's always best to think "horse" before "zebra." Have you been going through any kind of unusual stress of late? Perhaps you should talk about this with your doctor.
  18. I was baptized by Spirit of God at time of my salvation/conversion. I believe this to be normative case with believers.
  19. Early Church's disciples did miracles like Jesus'. They healed sick, cast out demons, raised dead. All this to testify to their teaching. Every Christian is, however, filled with power from God to do greater signs than Jesus himself, namely, to rescue lost people from damnation. That's greater miracle than healing from sicknesses and awakening from death. New Testament's great work, Church's gathering through Gospel's preaching, began after Spirit's coming at Pentecost.
  20. Yes, I agree, tongues is gift that some are given and some are not. Indeed, tongues seems to be regarded in Scripture as secondary gift - for example, prophecy is deemed to be of higher value. This is in contrast to esteem that some Christians give tongues. Their view is that if one doesn't have tongues, one is not true believer.
