  1. I too enjoy craft beers (though would never buy Bud Ice ). There is nothing wrong with it at all, no different than drinking a coke with dinner or a mug of coffee in the morning.
  2. I do understand that is your personal choice. I do not understand why you think others should do as you do. Would it be ok to wear the shirt and drive a $100,000...thus giving the appearance of greed? Would it be ok to wear the shirt and weight 350 pounds...thus giving the appearance of slothfulness?
  3. But there is nothing hypocritical about it. He did nothing that was a sin or even remotely against the teachings of Jesus
  4. Is there anywhere in the bible that talks about the requirement for a government issued license? Is not that man's invention also? Does God require approval from the State for Him to recognize a marriage?
  5. The world says you need a piece of paper signed by them to be married. Does God say that as well?
  6. I do agree it is not sinful, but does God require. Look at what marriage has become under the government. People being married multiple times, some people as many as 5 and 6 marriages. Marriages that last a few weeks, not to mention the latest inclusion of same sex couples. Could a service with your church and your pastor not suffice, take the government out of it and make it between God and the couple.
  7. What is a Scriptural marriage? Is a license from a government required for a Scriptural marriage?
  8. As I read this I am reminded of Michal and her chastisement of David for dancing for the Lord. 20 When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust, “How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls like any vulgar person might do!” 21 David retorted to Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord. 22 Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! But those servant girls you mentioned will indeed think I am distinguished!” I travel a lot, have been to more than two dozen countries and most states in this great country. I have been to almost every "type" of church. Through that experience I have found there is no right way or wrong way to worship our Lord. I have been to churches that were 100% acapella, not an instrument to be found. It was a moving and touching experience. I have been to churches with 10 pieces band and 4 singers leading the worship time. It was an amazing worship, I could feel the love for our Lord all around me. I have been to churches with people literally dancing in the aisles during worship. It was wonderful to see people give themselves fully to their worship of the Lord. All had one thing in common, they all worshiped the Lord and gave him Praise. Different people like different things, that is the way our God made us. We should embrace that, not try to get others to be like us.
  9. This is the song... Lyrics I have journeyed through the long dark night Out on the open sea, by faith alone Sight unknown; and yet His eyes were watching me The anchor holds Though the ship is battered The anchor holds Though the sails are torn I have fallen on my knees as I face the raging seas The anchor holds in spite of the storm I've had visions, I've had dreams I've even held them in my hand But I never knew they would slip right through Like they were only grains of sand The anchor holds Though the ship is battered The anchor holds Though the sails are torn I have fallen on my knees as I face the raging seas The anchor holds in spite of the storm I have been young but I'm older now And there has been beauty these eyes have seen But it was in the night, through the storms of my life Oh, that's where God proved His love for me The anchor holds Though the ship's been battered The anchor holds Though the sails are torn I have fallen on my knees as I face the raging seas The anchor holds in spite of the storm I have fallen on my knees as I face the raging seas The anchor holds in spite of the storm
  10. As the old saying goes, just because you can do something, does not mean you should
  11. Can we do that with a leader that does not espouse those ethics?
  12. They can, and they did. I just personally see it as a symptom of the problems that plague this country. Everything has become political, it was not always this way. I think it is a bad thing, and I am expressing that opinion.
  13. I have never quit being proud of this country, not sure why some have. But, what I am saying is that is is, in my own opinion, a bad thing when politics are so much a part of our lives that people use a political slogan as a wedding theme. Not Jesus, not God's love, not even each other, but a political slogan. I read a story this week about a Pastor in Tennessee that used his church's signboard to post "America, Love it or leave it". What does that have to do with God or Jesus? I was very happy to read that his congregation took his advise, and got up and left the church. Had that been my Pastor, I never would step foot back in that building again.
  14. Ah, the preemptive banning, not based on anything that took place but on what might happen.
  15. Quitting smoking is so difficult, but you can do it. I have been "smoke free" since 1996, and I do remember how hard it was to quit. You need to find a good substitute for those times when it was just habit to light up, like after a meal or such things. You have to do it one day at a time and if you slip up, do not think you have failed, just go forward from there. I can tell you, after all these years I still have an occasional craving to have a cigarette, which shows the power of the addiction.
  16. Can you explain how holding the funeral would be promoting homosexuality?
  17. Are you saying that churches should not allow anyone openly sinning into their building?
  18. I agree with your thoughts on this. Would the church had cancelled it if the son was living with another woman not his wife? What about if the son weighed 400 pounds due to his own gluttony?
  19. Brother, not sister. And you are correct, I did find a different article that said they sent him multiple invitations. The article also said that wedding had a MAGA theme, that just totally blows my mind, but each to their own I suppose.
  20. It just seems a little bit presumptuous on his part to assume he is welcome, and according to what I have read, this is not the first time he has done this. But I am glad they were ok with it.
  21. No, I am not saying that at all. I am saying that the definition of murder is the "unlawful killing...". Abortion is not against the law, thus the action is not unlawful in the eyes of the legal system, and is thus not murder. Morally, and in the eyes of God, it is indeed murder as it is a human being that is having its life ended.
  22. "Murder is the unlawful killing ..." In this country it is not unlawful, thus it is not legally murder. Morally yes, legally no.
  23. Follow these two, and the rest falls into place. 6 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” It is impossible to follow these two and break any others.
  24. I would be rather annoyed if someone, even the president, crashed my wedding. The wedding is about the bride and the groom, yet this takes the focus off of them.
