  1. I think one of the biggest things I've had to learn in my walk with God is to get to know Him, as my friend, who I can always trust. He is perfect and always in control. Being in relationship with God, basking in and acknowledging His presence, brings me peace and joy, even when times get difficult. I cast my burdens to the cross often, and, believing, He takes them. Then any worry or anxiety goes and my peace and joy is restored. Praise and worship also helps with any unrest I may feel.
  2. I remember when the leaders of the church that I go to, including the pastors, washed the congregation's feet. I sensed their humility and heart behind it.
  3. So, this is how I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues: I was going to a small Pentecostal church (I now consider myself non-denominational) at the time and was a fairly new Christian. I had heard of people speaking in tongues before and wanted the gift. A traveling minister and a couple of his family members visited our church, including an elderly lady who was precious. She had asked me if I wanted the gift of tongues and I told her I did. She prayed for me and gently put her hand on my throat. It was mildly shaking. She prayed and spoke in tongues. It didn't take long before I uttered a few words in tongues. After that day, I would speak in tongues often, even though it was only a few words. Slowly, more and more words were added, as I let the Holy Spirit give me them. Now, I speak in tongues fluently, as a language, and I can also interpret tongues. Tongues have helped me out when I don't know what to pray many times.
  4. Great post Robin Nitin! Personally, I think worship is so important. I love to sing songs that I make up, with the Holy Spirit, with no music, to God. Or I sing along during worship time at church or with music at home. Also, my church has heavy rock music, but at times, slower music too. It is not a traditional church, but it caters to the misfits, nerds, rockers, bikers, etc. We are Messiah's Misfits and we come to church as we are. I've been in a lot of churches, but in the 8 years or so that I've been there, I've learned than any other church I've been in. We are free to worship God as the Spirit leads us. God is good and is worthy of all our praise and adoration.
