Thank you Melinda12 for posting this. I have stayed away from church for many of the same reasons you stated. I started wondering if the problem is within me. I just never felt like I “fit” if that makes sense. I know that it is important for God’s people to gather (scriptural). I have been seeking another church where I believe God can use me to make a difference. Please let us know how you’re doing.

I think there is room for both fear and hope depending on the circumstances. The person who convinced me to become a Christian never said a word to me, it was the amazing things he did to help a despised group of people that led my search to Christ. Never underestimate how things you do affects others. Dad used to say, “The best sermons are lived, not preached”. He was right, rest his soul.

I’ve always wondered if it was indeed s parable or an actual account of an event that happened. I’m not a theologian, but I believe this is the only account of a parable in which the person (Lazarus) had a name.
