  1. My faforite verse was: They that wait on the Lord shall renew strengh, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Then foud a verse on how to wait on the Lord: "Rejoice continuaĺly, pray without ceazing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." As we are in His will, we will be led by His Spirit.
  2. Dear i no longer fit in a denomination but thankfully there is room in the body of Christ for mistics and misfits, but the divisions in the church are from babes who desire control and cause divisions. As for your question: Living for the praise of God is the daily sacrifice of the new covenant: "Daily pick up your cross and follow me." "He that shall endure to the end shall be saved." No longer interpreting daily sacrifice from old covenant perspective, in an earthly temple that pointed to "The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” As we cease from ourselves on higher steps, much is revealed through Love: "Many shall be purified and made white and refined but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand." From Matthew 24:15 “Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the Holy place, let him who reads understand:" Jesus answered 2 questions his disciples asked at the same time: the destruction of the temple and the end time of trouble. Let him who reads understand: refers to hidden meaning in a parable. Let those living in the Praise of God flee to the "Mountains of the Lord's house." Let him who is in fellowship with God, not go down to take things in his hands again, and let him who is laboring in the harvest not go back to his old identity. How dreadful for babes and children depending on mother: not led by the Spirit. But pray and don’t wait until the end to learn to soar with God. For then shall be great trouble such as was not since the beginning of the world, nor ever shall be. "Learn a parable from the fig tree. When its branches are yet tender and bring forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So likewise when you see these things come to pass, understand that it is near, even at the doors. Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass till all these things be fulfilled." Believers agree, the fig tree represents Israel established in their land again in 1948, "The Lord says, 'In the time of the end, I will bring my people Israel and Judah back and restore them to the land I gave their ancestors to possess, how awful that day will be! None like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it." It has been over 70 years from the time Israel has been restored into their land as a nation: "Our days come to seventy years, and if by reason of strength it be eighty, they are labor and sorrow.” Jesus mentioned signs of the end as labor pains: increase in famines, pestilences, earthquakes and storms. Labor pains become more intense and closer together until delivery: earth changes have been increasing for 15 years: the outcome is delivery. "At that time your people will be delivered, everyone whose name is found written in the book. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting Life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who instruct many into righteousness, like the stars forever and ever." This time of trouble will be in my lifetime, I'm 64.
  3. The cross is a sentence of deat to our old life as you described it; to have Life in Christ by His Spirit given to us for ever. We all stumble, even Jesus stumbled bearing the cross for us, yet witout sin. We are called to bear the cross with Him. The fellowship of His suffering is our opportunity to grow in Love. No longer living an ilusion but entering into Life. I have been a christian 42 years, tho I was even brough up christian and am now 64, yet 15 years ago the Lord told me: Enter in as a little child and put away your divided spirit. I am new here as well and posted a study journal last week: Getting past miself to journey in fellowship with God. We begin getting understanding of the journey but we cant make the journey in our understanding. "Lean not on your understanding but Trust in The Lord."
  4. Jesus came into the word to reconcile us to God. "He came to deliver those who through fear of death were held their whole lifetime in bondage." He thought us, "Whatever things you desire when you pray beleive that you receice them and you shall have them." His prayer to be kept from evil and fulfil His purpose, involving making intercettion for us. As in our case "We dont know to pray as we should but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with grownings that cant be uttered." Much of His prayer was and is on our behalf. It sais He took on the nature of sinful flesh yet without sin. Also in the Garden of Getsameny is when our sin was to be placed on Him, seperating Him from the Father. To make the Way in Himself to the Resurrection. He obtained the keys of death and hell for our deliverance and was raised by the Holy Spirit.
  5. You want "The Mistery of God" explained, but even explaimed you still know in part and will not know God in your understanding. "Christ is made to us wisdom of God." When we enter the wisdom of God, by identity in the name of Jesus, we enter His relationship in constant fellowship with the Father, this is what we need. Then the question would be, why do i need to pray, dosent God already know what i need? but we live outwardly in time here, unless we live inwardly in fellowship with God, just as Jesus did until His prayer in John 17: and that prayer answers your question. "Now I return to You Holy Father, glorify Me with Your own Self, with the Glory I had with You before the world was."
  6. "Now Faith Hope and Love remain and the greatest of these is Love." The Life of God given to us by the Holy Spirit. "Love is the fulfilment of the law."
  7. While we continue to drink from the Fountain of Living Water, we no longer thirst after the world. "Whoever drinks of the Water that I will give him shall never thirst, but the water that I will give him, will be in him a well of Water springing up to Eternal Life." Entering into rest our soul no longer suffers distress as in the valley of decision, where we are troubled with cares of this life and not One with God as we should. "Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what the will of the Lord is." To enter into rest with Him we cease from ourselves. “He that has entered into rest has ceased from His works as God did from His.” "God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, and rested from all His work." We no longer worry and fear, as we can’t afford to lose sight of the Lord, but pray during times of trouble, to seek the Lord resting in the ship; rest in God is to draw close to the Lord and restores our soul. "Come to Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you will find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” We learn to walk in the humility of Jesus as friends of God and have the strength we need under His Yoke. The yoke is adjusted so the stronger bears more of the load and as Jesus finished the work by Himself, He only lets us bear what we can to grow up in Him, as in the will of God Life is no longer about me but to overcome the world. This is only possible by the Holy Spirit as our helper in “Faith that works by Love.” A woman said to the Lord: Lord I thought You said “Your Yoke is easy?” He replied: Mine is. She understood her bondage to achievement and the need to change, but worldly people don’t comprehend: suffering what they are in despising the cross. The old life in pride of achievement ends up divided from God and despising one another in quarrels, “Only by pride comes contentions.” But as we learn to remain in Christ we are “Kept by the power of God” and have the help we need. “My Grace is sufficient for you for My strength is made perfect in your weakness.” Those who overcome, enter the relationship of Jesus in constant fellowship with the Father and have part in the first Resurrection. ”Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” We come as we are: “Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, 'What do you seek?' They said to Him, 'Master where do You live?' He said 'Come and see.' So they came and saw where He lived, and they stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour." Becoming a disciple we experience fulfillment as if troubles are over forever, but we mistake the beginning of the Journey for having arrived; walking in the Spirit is uncharted territory and we still suffer trials of fear of getting lost on the Way as desire to take things in our hands again: To get past you have to surrender everything. "Watch and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and stand before the son of man." "Therefore take no thought saying, 'What shall we eat? What shall we drink? What shall we wear? For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things, but seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added to you." "The kingdom of God is in right relationship with God and Peace and Joy by the Holy Ghost." We seek the Lord first and learn to walk by faith before we are in trouble. As disciples we no longer have identity from the world just as He is not of the world. The disciple is disciplined to become like the Master. “As He is, so are we in this world.” “No longer remain babes tossed to and fro by every wind of teaching... but speaking the Truth in Love, may grow up in Him in all things." Just as Jesus was sent in the world, He sent us into the world to represent Him who is, "Gathering all things in Himself." When cough up with affections in this life we lose sight of the Lord and have no rest: "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth, for you have died to your selfish existence and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Our life after the flesh ends at the cross as we daily enter His presence with thanksgiving, by His Spirit with us. We will end up where we desire to be: we forsake the fountain of living water seeking in creature what is found in God, left to ourselves because we left our first Love; thirsting after the world until we return. Trust not in your learning to overcome, Holiness is not achieved but received by the Holy Spirit. Entering the will of God is not learned in understanding but led by His Spirit. "Knowledge puffs up but Love builds up." "Lean not on your understanding but trust in the Lord." "God resists the proud but gives Grace to the humble.” “Jesus came to deliver those who through fear of death were held their whole lifetime in bondage.” "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." "Consider it all Joy, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." The Way of the Lord leaves no room for earthly affections and pursuits to distract us; wondering is this realistic? Like how could I pursue a wife? Pray for a wife that would have a greater need of the relationship, that would pursue you; not be distracted from the Lord but to lay down your life. “Husbands Love your wives as Christ Loved the church and gave Himself up for her.” But understanding the principle to pray in all things does not change us until we Love the Truth. If we ignore prayer involving every area of our life we learn in hardship as I did. "For I know that good will does not dwell in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out." Rest from desiring knowledge as power to control, to enter the wisdom of God and learn of Him in humility as a friend. The dim sight we have is more valuable than knowledge and treasures of this world that won’t satisfy. "Let no one turn you away from the simplicity of Christ." "He that follows Me shall not walk in darkness." We do not see the need to change until we are broken: "Through much trouble we enter the kingdom of God." "Whoever seeks his life will lose it and whoever loses his life for My sake and My message will save it." As a young Christian, in a dream was cleaning a vessel in a sink with a tap of running water. In attempting to clean it, knocked it against the tap and it cracked. I responded: It's worthless now, there's no point in cleaning it anymore. Then heard the Lord say: I'll make a new vessel now. It spun as if it was on a potter's well again and when it stopped it was clean and white. Before this it had a blue spiral decoration on the outside: this was pride of achievement in trying to prove myself to God as a religious achiever with a divided spirit. As achievers we don’t measure up and stumble against the Lord whom we despise in the least of His children. "Everyone who stumbles over this Stone will be broken, and it will crush anyone who resists Him.” Jesus is the source of Living Water we wash in, but If we seek ourselves in relationships we stumble against the Lord and are broken. Our hard hearts are broken from self-will to learn of the Lord in humility and be tamed as friends of God: meekness is like a horse broken from self-will to be of service. First take away the dross from the silver: "If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver and costly stones; or wood, hay and straw: their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be exposed in the fire that will refine each one's work. If what is built survives, the laborer receives a reward. If it burns, the one building (for himself) suffers loss, but he will be saved as escaping through the fire." “The sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” While living in a cabin with a wood stove, in a dream I'm looking at the remains of ashes in a wood stove, my attention is drawn to a lump of silver about the size of a quarter among the ashes, then on black spots on the silver. When I saw the black spots my spirit said: that means I'm going to have to be refined again. All that was left of living for myself was ashes and a lump of silver that needed to be refined again to be a shield of Faith. Later as I walked alone in the evening on a country road, fear of being drawn back into a life of pleasure by seducing spirits crossed my mind. Then I heard the Holy Spirit tell me: Fear God. I looked up to heaven, it was a beautiful clear night and was in admiration of God. His presence came on me like a heavy blanket that comforted me: having the rightful place for fear in admiration of God, I could not be afraid of anything else. But this experience did not change me except to know a glimpse of the God of all comfort. I continued stumbling along, and getting up out of fear of being lost. The Lord had told me: You’re going to fall that you may learn to continually repent. In a third dream I was walking through a field and encountered the enemy: "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Therefore submit yourselves to God and resist the enemy and he shall have to flee." I saw the enemy shooting at me and in fear of losing a life for myself turned back to flee. Then I was watching a vision in the dream: this enemy was chasing a big ox and trying to put a yoke of bondage on its back. It was cruel to watch, he would manage to get one side on but it would not fit across and tried repeatedly to slam it on with all its strength, but it would not fit. I woke up thinking this is not of God He would not show me something so cruel. Then the interpretation came: I was the big ox, I had grown by God's word so the bondage of my old life would not fit, but living in fear of losing a life for myself, gave room for the enemy to oppress me. Not living in the fear admiration of God as I should, gave room to the spirit of fear. I wondered how this would end since I woke up before the end. Years later after marriage break, had another related dream. I was working as a carpenter at the time and in the dream was nailing wood together while my affection was on a woman I was corresponding with. I responded in the dream: I'm building with wood that means it's going to burn. The relationship dissolved a year later and a long struggle of looking for comfort in women and drug addiction followed. "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be." Enter in as a little child and put away your divided spirit: The light of the body is the eye, if your eye is single your whole body is full of light; but if your eye is evil, the light you think you have is darkness." We thought we could entertain and outsmart our sinful nature, but became divided between good and evil. "Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than Him?" In this condition we remain babes in Christ: unable to fully discern between good and evil and persevere in the Will of God. "Meat is for the mature who by constant use have been exercised to discern good and evil." Only as we enter in fellowship with God, can we put away our divided spirit by the influence of Grace. We learn self-control to get past ourselves in contemplative prayer. Contemplation worship and self-control is lost when dualistic thinking is magnified, dominance of Ego is the fruit. "Brethren I could not speak to you as spiritual but as worldly, as babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with meat: you were unable to receive it, neither now are you able. You are still worldly, there is quarreling and divisions among you, are you not behaving like men in the flesh?" Without discerning we are members of the body of Christ we lose sight of Him: "Those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ, eat and drink their own judgment. Because of this many of you are weak and sick and sleep. But if we judge ourselves we won't be judged, nevertheless when we are judged by the Lord we are disciplined so that we won’t be judged with the world." "Let us not judge one another anymore but judge this, that none cause others to stumble." Many have not come to their senses like the prodigal son: not having experienced the famine. "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would that you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, will I spew you out of my mouth. Because you say: I am rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing, and know not that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. I counsel you to buy of Me gold refined in the fire that you may be rich, and white garment that you may be clothed and the shame of your nakedness does not appear, and anoint your eyes with eye ointment that you may see. As many as I Love I rebuke and discipline: be zealous therefore and repent. Behold I stand at the door and knock: If any man hears My voice and opens the door, I will come to him and will sup with him and he with Me. To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I overcame and Am set down with My Father in His throne. He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." The prodigal son: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his Father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So He divided His property between them. Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had and set off for a distant country and there wasted his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in the land and he began to be in want. So he went and hired himself to a citizen of that country who sent him in his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the cobs that the pigs were eating: no one gave him anything. When he came to his senses he thought: How many of my Father’s hired servants have food to spare and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my Father and say to Him: Father I have sinned against heaven and against You, I am no longer worthy to be called Your son, make me like one of Your hired servants. So he got up and went to his Father. But while he was still a long way off, his Father saw him and was filled with compassion for him. He ran to His son, threw His arms around him and kissed him. The son said to Him, ‘Father I have sinned against heaven and against You. I am no longer worthy to be called Your son.’ But the Father said to His servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of Mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate." The Father gave him the best robe: a new identity by the Holy Spirit; having received Compassion from the Father enables us to have compassion on the fallen. "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be My witnesses." The Father put a ring on his finger: restoring Him as a son. "Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm you. However don't rejoice that spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in the book of Life" The Father put shoes on his feet, "He that says he lives in Him is to walk even as He walked." "How beautiful on the Mountains are the feet of Him who brings good news, proclaiming peace, announcing news of renewal.” The Father prepared a feast, the son has come home. Not about you and what you did, but who's you are and what He did to save us from ourselves: the Father does it all. Prepare your heart for an inner journey: "Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many I say to you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able.” "One thing is needful and Marie has chosen that good part that will not be taken from her." Marie Magdalene expressed her appreciation waiting on the Lord. Her heart poured out to Him in thankfulness, a fragrance of admiration worship and encouragement on His Journey to the cross. Those exercised in Godliness comprehend this “One thing needful” as the influence of Grace to wait on the Lord and not take things in our hands again, to persevere through uncertain times and be renewed. One thing: otherwise divided between achievements and Grace. "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but One thing, forgetting what lies behind and reaching forth, I press toward the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as are going on to perfection be like-minded." Don’t take things in your hands again: "The weapons of our warfare are not of our fleshly mind but by the Power of God: to tear down imaginations, to silence speculations and every high thing raised up against the knowledge of God; taking every thought captive in obedience of Christ." When tempted to take my life back from God, I saw a vision of God as an old man handing me a lump of clay: I was scared and embarrassed that He heard my thoughts and that I would not know what to do with a lump of clay. I told Him I'm sorry and wanted to remain in His care but for years remained divided with affections in this life. “The flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one other so that you cannot do what you want.” Building for ourselves we are not transformed by Love. "What is gained for me is lost for Christ." "If you live after the flesh you will die, but if through the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the flesh you will live." To learn to persevere is the attitude of an athlete hired under obligation to persevere training. Neither do we glory in achievement as it's the influence of Grace. Carried by the Holy Spirit to enter into Life and become whole. Don't give in to your fears: "Many are they that rise up against me… but You O Lord are a Shield for me... I laid me down and slept, I awaked for the Lord sustained me." Not mindful of God as we should we suffer delusions of understanding and affections against us and Faith alone for us. To get past ourselves is "In Faith that works by Love." Like an eagle soaring effortlessly, we are suspended and fixed in God: with inner peace and thanksgiving in everything. We embrace His Love and He welcomes us to eat at His table that we may have strength to endure. “You set a table before me in the presence of my enemies," most necessary for a soldier in unknown territory, daily faced with troubles and danger. Comforted by His Spirit, we no longer reflect on the loss of our pleasure in bearing the cross. There is no saint who has not passed through the dark night of suffering with Christ to get past living after the flesh. When clothed in these affections, we have no intention of going on to perfection and could be persuaded we have arrived. But believing an evil report are sentenced to go in circles in the wilderness: not forgetting what lies behind of our old life, we do not advance toward God. Just as Israel could not be led out of slavery by a slave and neither could the slave enter the Promised Land; the generation after the flesh had to die in the wilderness. Those who overcome will rule in Love with Him because He Rules in them." Getting past wandering in the desert: "Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom, and with all get understanding." Understanding is for beginning in the Way, otherwise wandering like stray sheep; seeking anxiously but unable to find the leading of the Spirit. Neither do we know to advise others in the inner Way, as it concerns them to come of themselves and be led by the Spirit to learn to walk by faith. "If anyone thinks he knows he does not know as he should." Praying in the Spirit is agreement with God past what we think we know in understanding: just as babes utter unintelligible sounds to express thanksgiving to parents; praying with thanksgiving beyond intelligible words is a place of rest from understanding to be built up in Faith. Not for public prayer but alone with God. “For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified.” Just as children we relied on our parents to instruct us; we draw near to God acknowledging we don’t know as we should. “Unless you are converted and become as little children you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.” In contemplative prayer alone with God we enter wisdom of God and are built up in Faith. “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, as we don't know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.” In a time of temptation, praying in the Spirit until exhausted and feeling no victory. Unexpectedly the oppression lifted and I saw a vision of part of the armor of God I needed for protection against burning desires of the enemy. Thick strips of leather about 18 inches long and 2 inches wide fell on my hips, many of them that needed to be tied together, there was also leather pads for my legs, but the strips of leather tied together is the belt of truth to cover the loins from burning desires. "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and hope to the end for the Grace brought to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ." "He will not let you be tempted above what you are able to bear, but with the temptation will make a way of escape that you may be able to bear it." "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness." I did not see a breastplate in the vision, and we don’t receive the whole armor at once. Later saw my bare feet in a dream, they were scraped and bleeding: I was not walking as Jesus walked. "He that says He lives in Him is to walk even as He walked." "The preparation of the message of peace firmly on your feet." "As laborers together with God," in the rebuilding of His temple. Like a vine pruned of excess branches, we lose our life of excess and idolatry to emerge as a choice branch remaining in fellowship with God." Reading the bible we discover it’s not like a book we’re supposed to understand: “Knowledge tends to make people conceited; its love that builds us up. If anyone thinks he already knows, he does not know as he should; but if any one loves God, that man is known by God." The bible is the doorway to passages with hidden meaning that we discover as we walk in the Light we have to get more Light. Otherwise we would remain babes, deceived to think we have nothing to do with the matter of loving God and obeying His Word. Salvation is ongoing renewal and growing in Christ: "All who have the veil removed, beholding the glory of the Lord, are changed into His Image from glory to Glory, by the Spirit of the Lord." 1John 2:12 is addressed to 3 steps of maturity past babes in Christ: 1: Little children who are forgiven: Becoming a disciple we follow Christ in our understanding but until we are immersed in the Love of God, are unable to get past ourselves to enter the Wisdom of God. 2: In fellowship with the Father as friends: “Strive to enter in at the Straight Gate for many shall seek to enter in and shall not be able.” Getting past what we think we know in understanding, to ascend in the Wisdom of God and nurture His children. "Lord you know all things, you know I Love you as a friend.' 'Then feed my sheep." "We will give ourselves to Prayer and the ministry of the Word." 3: Those who overcome the world: "I have written to you young men because you are strong and know the word of God dwells in you and have overcome the evil one." These steps of maturity are seen in the life of Joseph as 3 different coats of identity. 1: From interpreting in understanding and suffering rejection and betrayal. This first dark night of loss of identity is against our will: unprepared to accept a sentence of death in ourselves, like the disciples in the garden of Gethsemane, they fell asleep, like the foolish and wise virgins, they slumbered and slept. "I laid me down and slept, I awaked for the Lord sustained me." 2: To emerge as a servant of no reputation in care of everything in the house: this coat is left willingly to escape the pleasures of sin and remain as a friend of God. 3: The night of the spirit: the dark night of losing our life, to merge in the Will of God as a teacher of babes in prison, identified with them and left in charge, then to proclaim deliverance. Those who followed Him in His suffering and death have been changed to Love as God Loves: "If we suffer with Him we shall rule with Him." The dark night of the soul: "Whom shall God teach knowledge and whom shall He make to understand hearing? Those that are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts." 1: On a dark night kindled in Love with yearnings, oh happy chance! I went forth without being observed, My house being now at rest: Accept your limitations and don't take things in our hands again: "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." "Those who are not led by the Spirit do not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, but consider them foolishness and cannot understand them because they are discerned through the Spirit." The first king, Saul experienced being changed into another man, but desired the praise of the people more than the praise of God and remained divided. Seeking affirmation of people causes us to be divided. "Godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be repented of, but worldly sorrow leads to death." We only go as far as the leader we follow, when Israel was under king Saul there was not a fearless man in the army to confront Goliath. David who was anointed next king was not of age to be in the army and waiting on the Lord in the wilderness, tending the Fathers sheep. "They that wait on the Lord shall renew strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." You’re not here to compete with anyone but to learn to persevere. "Those who compare themselves among themselves are not wise." After 40 days of confrontation with Goliath, David showed up and heard the challenge. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom." "Perfect Love delivers us from all fear." After the death of Goliath, Saul becomes jealous of the admiration David receives. David, a man after the heart of God, will not take the kingdom by force, and Saul gives his daughter to him in marriage. "Saul said 'I will give her to him, that she be a snare to Him." Leaders controlled by desire are insecure and desire others to be as they are and never satisfied. David is married into the house of Saul with desire to please the old king: when controlled by desire or desiring control we are under a divided spirit. “Rebellion: the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness: idolatry.” Saul desires to pin David to the wall to prevent Him from Going on in the will of God. "The evil (divided) spirit from God came on Saul and he prophesied in the midst of the house, and David played with hand as at other times. There was a spear in Saul's hand and Saul threw the spear, he said 'I will pin David even to the wall with it.' David avoided out of his presence twice, and Saul was afraid of David because the Lord was with him and was departed from Saul... Michal let David down the wall through a window: and David fled and escaped that night." We avoid the old man desiring control by the Holy Spirit. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit from dwelling in God. To get past the wall that prevents us: "Avoid anger, turn from rage: do not lose self-control it only leads to evil." "Flee youthful lust that war against the soul." Self-control can be lost and losing sight of the Lord in these uncertain times is our greatest affliction. "I cared not to know anything among you except that you’re identified with Jesus Christ crucified.” The fast to seek the Lord and put away our divided spirit is not necessarily about abstaining from all food but to break every addiction: not to exact our wages but to share our bread with the hungry, not to insist on our own way in living for pleasure and speaking our own words… (Isaiah 58). "We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers of the darkness of this world: wicked spirits in heavenly places." Going on to maturity could be years after the night of following Christ in our understanding: "Let us go on to perfection and this we will do if God permits." If we do not walk in the light we have we become dull of hearing and in disorder of inner life, knowledge of God becomes far away; having regained confidence that we can handle our life from here, have abandoned the way of the cross. “Follow the Spirit as your guide that you may resist the flesh.” All the disciples also failed until they learned to be led by the Holy Ghost. "This very night all of you will fall away on account of Me, for it is written: I will strike the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.' Peter replied, 'Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.' Jesus answered, 'Truly I tell you, this very night before the rooster crows you will disown Me three times.' But Peter declared, 'Even if I have to die with You, I will never disown You,' and all the other disciples said the same." Recently the Lord told me: Stay on the cross. "He that has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin." Suffering willingly with Jesus like the thief on the cross we go on to perfection, while the would-be believer wants proof: for Jesus to come down from the cross and deliver him from suffering and give him his life back. Taking our old life back we still suffer but our labor is in vain: not learning to Love we have no reward "But a fearful looking towards judgment." The thief who believed acknowledged deserving punishment and suffered willingly with Jesus: such humble beginning without free will, the man is to be envied, past the disciples who fled from suffering that was not their time to face, as they had a purpose to fulfil in the Way to go on to perfection. “If you seek Me then let these go.” Second stanza of The Dark Night of the Soul, the night of the spirit: 2: In darkness and secure by the secret ladder disguised: Oh happy chance! In darkness concealed, My house being now at rest. "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the Day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision." "But we had the sentence of death in ourselves that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead: who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver.” "Some were tortured, refusing to compromise and obtain release that they may obtain a better Resurrection." "I the man has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath. He has led me in darkness and not light… He has walled me in so I can’t get out; He has made my chain heavy... My soul still has remembrance and is humbled in me. This I recall to mind, therefore have I hope, the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed; His compassions fail not, new every morning: Your great faithfulness.” We are changed in the secret ladder ascending in the wisdom of God: a sentence of death to our achievements and Mercy so great we think trials to be over forever, not to take things in our hands again, but the root is hidden as an enemy asleep. "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble’s you and thereby many defiled.” "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me.” David who wrote this Psalm, had the rightful place for fear in admiration of God; tending the Father's sheep in the wilderness while living for the praise of God empowered him to confront the lion and the bear and prepared him to face Goliath openly. "Out of the praise of babes and nursing children You have ordained strength, to silence the enemy and accuser." Jesus made reference to this Psalm of David when religious leaders were jealous of the people praising Him as King: "The chief priests and scribes were indignant when they saw the wonders He did and the children shouting in the temple courts, 'Hosanna to the Son of David!' 'Do you hear what these children are saying?' they asked Him, and Jesus said, 'Yea, have you not read: Out of the mouth of babes and nursing children You have perfected praise," He stopped in the middle of the sentence, not mentioning "to silence the enemy and accuser." The time to silence His enemy was not yet. Jesus also stopped in the middle of the sentence reading from Isaiah in the temple. “The Spirit of the Lord Is on Me because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor, He has sent me to proclaim freedom to the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,' closing the scroll, He said 'Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” The rest of the sentence, “and the day of vengeance of our God: to comfort all who mourn and appoint those who grieve in Zion to receive beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for despair. The day of vengeance of our God: "Listen! In the Day of the Lord! The cry of the mighty will be bitter." When Jesus said on the cross "It is finished," "God speaks of a New Covenant in His blood, means He made the old obsolete." "He came to deliver those who through fear of death were held their whole lifetime in bondage." When we think like men in the flesh and desire control, the enemy is given room to cause divisions. "From where come wars among you? Are they not from the lusts of the flesh." Those who desired control nullified their covenant with God. The old covenant could only be nullified by the death of the one who established it. "Had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory." "Had there been a law that could save us, salvation would have been by the law." But the law exposed our selfish motives to bring us to Christ, so that no man would glory in himself. "The foolishness of God is Wiser than the wisdom of the wise of this world." Love to the point of folly for His Beloved, that we may be a new creation cleansed in His blood. We are all connected and in our brokenness are united by His Grace to forgive and be forgiven. "The Love of Christ compels us, believing that Christ died for all, our old life is nullified so that we no longer live for ourselves but in Him who died and rose again. Therefore from now on we regard no one according to the flesh." "To this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe." No one recognized Jesus in the resurrection until receiving Him as a stranger: "Truly I say to you, in as much as you have done it to the least of these my brethren, you have done it to Me." Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene who saw Him as the gardener, pleading with Him to care for His body and only recognized Him as He called her by name. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus did not recognize Him in a long conversation with Him until after offering Him hospitality as a stranger: in the breaking of bread. "Where two or more are gathered in My name, there I Am in the midst of them." Seven other disciples resolved to go back fishing. “Simon Peter said to them, 'I go fishing.' They said to him, 'we also go with you.' They went forth and entered into a ship immediately and that night they caught nothing... and Jesus said to them: 'Cast the net on the right side of the ship and you will find.' They cast therefore, and now they were unable to draw it for the multitude of fishes." They recognized Him by the miracle after obeying His Word as a stranger: on the Right side. Like the day they were called as His disciples: laboring in vain all night until they obeyed His word. The only apparent difference, "The net did not break from the multitude of fishes." Jesus prayed for us to be in the unity of the Spirit, "That they all may be One; as You Father in Me, and I in You, that they also be one in Us: that the world may believe that You have sent Me." Unconditional Love is the Power of the Holy Ghost to turn an enemy into a friend: "A new command I give you: Love one another as I have loved you; as I have Loved you, so you must Love one another." As we walk in the Spirit we no longer cause divisions, "Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head." Giving your enemy what he needs convicts him of enmity towards God. "Now we are laborers in agreement with God, encouraging you to be reconciled to God." Those who obtain rest from dualistic thinking in knowledge of good and evil are no longer dominated by ego, "Let no one turn you away from the simplicity of Christ." No longer thinking in terms of I'm right and you’re wrong. Praying in the Spirit is past what we think we know in understanding to be in agreement with God: "Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication; to that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints." Holiness is not achieved but received by the Holy Spirit: "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be witnesses of Me in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth." “When He the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of Himself, but what He shall hear, that shall He speak and He will show you things to come." His Spirit guides us to find the secret Ladder ascending to God along the road of solitude: to persevere and cease from ourselves is harsh in the beginning, seeming weary and never-ending in progress and as we learn not to lose sight of the Lord, becomes easy to find Him in everything. "Pay attention to how you hear. Everyone who does will be given more, but those who don't will lose the little they think they have." God is near when we acknowledge our poverty and need: He never forsakes us, we forsake Him and fall that we may learn to continually repent and turn our will to His will. Leave all your cares in His hand and consent to the Cross all that is not of God until temptations lose their hold. Pray that you may enter into rest: ”Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest.” Paul faced dying for the Faith several times and near the end of his life, was able to say, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith, now there is a crown of Life for me from the Righteous Judge and not for me only but for all who Love His appearing." The fellowship of His sufferings requires our whole heart. "It's no longer I that live but Christ that Lives in me." "He that is joined to the Lord becomes one Spirit with Him." "Let us go on to perfection, and this we will do if God permits." "What things were gain for me, those I counted loss for Christ. I count all things but loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them waste, that I may gain Christ, and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but through Faith in Christ, the righteousness that comes from God by Faith. That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformed to His death; persevering that I may attain the resurrection of the dead." Carried into His death to all that is not of God. "Lord consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your Holy Servant Jesus.' After they prayed the place where they were meeting was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God with boldness, and the multitude of them that believed was of one heart and one soul." These believers already received the Holy Spirit from the Apostles, and were praying for the anointing of boldness in the face of persecution: to receive power to stand firm. "Rejoice in the Lord your God: for He has given you the former rain moderately and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain in the first month." In the example of Elisha who asked for a double portion of the Spirit of Elijah, "You asked a hard thing' said Elijah, 'If you see me when I am taken from you it will be yours, otherwise it will not." Elisha had to persevere through distractions on the journey, just as we learn to persevere to see the Lord in our situation. "I am with you always, even to the end of time." "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long the world will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me. Because I Live, you will live also. On that day you will realize that I Am in My Father and you in Me, and I Am in you. Whoever has My commands and keeps them is the one who Loves Me. The ones who Love Me will be loved by My Father, and I too will Love them and reveal Myself to them." Our heart is to be with our treasure: "You shall seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." Persevering with thanksgiving carries us into His presence, like an eagle exerting strength to reach the updraft and soar effortlessly. We can do all things with the Grace of God, but we don't advance in Christ to prove ourselves: we enter the relationship of Jesus in constant fellowship with the Father. God knows best what we need and all that He does is for our good. If we knew how much He Loves us, we would be willing to taste the bitter cup of Jesus as well as the sweet from His Hand. Afflictions appear intolerable when we see them from the spirit of fear. To see differently is to cease from ourselves and enter into the Wisdom of God: carried by the Spirit the disciple becoming like the Master. "I will make my home among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people." A woman asked to see Jesus in a rapture dream, and experienced being cough up to God: "Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His Holy Place? The one with clean hands and a pure heart." She was shown a glimpse of the final war in heaven. The account of her dream: I was in a part of the country I've never been before, it was very mountainous and there was deserts, and at all these points I had a helper. I was being chased by an enemy and this enemy sometimes actually got me and I knew there was no escape; but I had this Helper and He would help free me, to get me out of situations where at one point I was even tied up, and miraculously my Helper removed what had bound me and We started to leave and flee from the enemy. The enemy was throwing these balls of fire on me and looking back where scripture says, the enemy would throw fiery darts at you. I actually got to see fiery darts thrown at me. In my dream I knew that if I got to this mountain I would be safe. I don’t know how I knew that, but in my dream I knew how to get to this mountain. When I got to the mountain, all of the attacks from the enemy stopped and my Helper was not there. I believe that Helper is my Holy Spirit: is the Holy Spirit. When I came to the mountain there were these steps that looked like they were carved out of the Rock. It looked like the finger of God made them, and I was marveling at these steps as I went up and came to this door. As I'm looking at this beautiful arch door at the very top it was opaque so that I could see someone on the other side. I did not want to be rude and open the door and walk right through, so I opened the door and let Them come in and I ushered Them in. This Person had to bow in because He was so tall. He had shoulder length hair and it was Jesus. I could not talk, I was excited, I was humbled, I was happy, I was so grateful that He was there, and as I'm watching, realizing who I was seeing, looking at Him from head to toe: He was wearing a long white robe with a sash, and He was wearing sandals. I saw the marks on His feet, but it was His feet that I first started to notice, that there was a Living fire coming off of Him. He just glowed, and it was a Live glow, it looked like waves at times, and He spoke to me: Stay on the Rock, and I prayed that I'd stay on the Rock. I watched Him leave and go through a doorway, and I went up to the doorway but I was going to stay on the Rock. This doorway turned into a window, and as I was looking down through the window I could see the twelve apostles, and they were all speaking the Word of God in different ways towards that same enemy I had been fighting. Jesus was now on what looked like a soccer field and the twelve apostles were on the sidelines, and Jesus was fighting the enemy. The last thing I remember is that He had a crown of thorns on His head and the top part of the back of His head was bloodied. I was worried about that but at the same time I knew that He wasn't hurt. He had a rock in His hand and I believe He was fighting the enemy for us. As time goes on, He reveals more to me and I get excited about the fact that Jesus did come to me. I didn't have a rapture dream but I did have Jesus is fighting for us, and that I should continue to stay on the Rock, really learning the word of God, because it is Living and active and sharper than a double edge sword. It’s our weapon against the spiritual warfare that's going on in our lives, and I just hope this encourages someone, God bless. Stay on the Rock: “Keep yourselves in the Love of God.” The morning after seeing the video, woke up with the realization that what she saw from a window that looked like a soccer field would be the dimensions of the Holy place: twice as long as wide. The crown of thorns is the rejection from those desiring control. The stone in His hands: He’s got the whole world in His hand. We are united in Him as living stones in the rebuilding of His temple. The steps ascending to the entrance of the Holy place is the Way Jesus made in Himself, for us to follow in His steps: a secret Ladder hidden from understanding, wisdom we see dimly. "Verily, verily I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man." This Ladder Jacob saw by night as he slept, "Behold a ladder set on the earth and the top reached heaven, the angels of God ascending and descending on it and behold the Lord stood above it." Humbled and raised up to God in this Ladder, we suffer many ups and downs: immersed in language of God, we to keep watch until we enter into rest in God. Living for the praise of God is the daily sacrifice of the new covenant: "Daily pick up your cross and follow me." "He that shall endure to the end shall be saved." No longer interpreting daily sacrifice from old covenant perspective, in an earthly temple that pointed to "The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” As we cease from ourselves on higher steps, much is revealed through Love: "Many shall be purified and made white and refined but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand." From Matthew 24:15 “Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the Holy place, let him who reads understand:" Jesus answered 2 questions his disciples asked at the same time: the destruction of the temple and the end time of trouble. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who instruct many into righteousness, like the stars forever and ever." One out of two Christians tortured for the faith in communist countries gave up their hope of a better resurrection and gave in to the government to be released and restored in a government approved church but not permitted to evangelize. This compromise is not final: Peter denied the Lord and repented, and later died for the Faith. Communism opposes the church because the world war was lost by communism as Christians on both sides of the war sang praise to God together on the front lines: Christmas Eve 1944, Germans and allies, Catholics and Protestant all came together, putting away their differences to restore the sacrifice of praise to God: Germans lost their motivation to fight except for the younger generation. In a winter where life did not make sense, the daily sacrifice of praise is restored: the enemy who caused deceit to prosper was now coming against the Lord and came to his end. Daniel 8:25 "He will cause deceit to prosper and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power." "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, and His Kingdom endures forever." At the time that John received the Revelation, the Roman Empire was the sixth kingdom on the earth: Revelation 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, the other is not yet come, and when he comes, he must continue a short space (this short space fits the world wars), and the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition.” The beast, the final time of trouble will happen suddenly and unexpected, "When they shall say peace and safety, then sudden destruction shall come upon them.” Understanding is like a map of the Journey but the Journey is to enter in the wisdom of God: "Lean not on your understanding but trust in the Lord." “Who then is a faithful and wise servant whom the Master put in charge of His Household, to give them food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose Master finds him doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, He will put him in charge of all His possessions. But a wicked servant who says to himself, ‘My Lord delays His coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. The Master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect, at an hour he is unaware. He will cut him to pieces and assign his place with the hypocrites, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom, and five of them were wise and five foolish. The foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them; but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. At midnight there was a cry made, 'Behold the bridegroom comes, go out to meet Him.' Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us of your oil for our lamps are gone out.' But the wise answered saying, 'Not so, this way there is not enough for us and you, but go rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves." The Holy Spirit can’t be divided with the foolish who have a divided spirit and did not count the cost of seeking the Lord first. The wise entered the will of God with their whole heart, but could not help the foolish who had not invested their whole heart. “And God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and what you have prepared, to whom will be?' So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.” "For which of you intending to build a tower sit’s not down first and counts the cost to finish? The practice of the Presence of God: “He has shown you O man, what is good and what does the Lord requires of you: but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." God requires no great accomplishments from us, but to yield to Him who regards not great works, but the lover in fellowship with Him. An inner Journey in admiration worship, doing unto Him what we commonly did for ourselves in work: present with Him, sustained by His Spirit and overflowing as peacemakers. We have sufficient light not to premeditate what to say; having His influence in relationships to do as He pleases: to Love without expectations. “A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be kind to everyone, patient in instructing those opposing themselves, that God may grant them repentance to acknowledge the Truth. There is only room for one first Love in our heart, if we ignore our conscience and follow another, we have left our first Love. We can’t cling to anyone or anything or our own life and seek the Lord first. Neither does this mean abandoning relationships, but that we can no longer have a treasure in this life that we may go on to perfection. We bear the cross as the daily sacrifice to go on to perfection; otherwise making the gifts of God more important than Him. He that has God has all things and he that has Him not is nothing. "I am come that you might have Life, and have it more abundantly." "Walk in the light while you have the Light with you, so that darkness does not come on you, for the one who walks in darkness does not know where he is going." "Therefore let us move on from the elementary teachings of Christ and be taken forward to maturity… and this we will do if God permits." Even Solomon who was given wisdom and wrote the Song of songs was turned aside to idolize foreign women and there is no mention of him coming to his senses like the prodigal son. There is no other time elsewhere to be in the will of God: “Behold, now is the time of Grace, now is the day of salvation!” Jesus entered the will of the Father at 12 years of age, as was the custom to learn His Fathers business and no longer be under the care of Mother. "Then after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of doctors, hearing them and asking them questions, and all that heard Him were amazed at His understanding and answers; and when they saw Him they were astonished: and His mother said to Him, 'Son, why have You done this to us, behold Your father and I have sought You sorrowing? And He said to them 'How is it that you sought Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?' But they did not understand what He meant. Then He returned to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them, and His mother kept these sayings in her heart." Sharing our experience with God at twelve years of age in Spirit as Jesus did in the temple is easily attainable, but to remain "As Laborers together with God," may take years. Jesus worked as laborer with Joseph, until a mature Son at 30 years of age, as was also the custom to take over the Fathers business: the rebuilding of His Temple. "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, 'Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.'… And he said to them, 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Enter in as a little child and put away your divided spirit: "About the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them 'Why stand here all day idle?' They said to him, 'Because no man hired us.' He said to them 'Go also into the vineyard, and whatever is right you shall receive." "Behold I come quickly and my reward is with Me, to give everyone according as his work shall be." "Let us fear since a promise left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with Faith in them that heard it. For we who have believed do enter into rest." Grace is the influence of God to follow Jesus "As laborers together with God." "They overcame by the blood of the lamb and by the Word of their testimony and they loved not their lives as much as to shrink from death." "Now He has promised, 'Once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven, and this 'Once more' signifies the removing of things shaken, as temporal, so that the things not shaken remain." "Then each of them was given a white robe and told to rest a little while longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, killed just as they were, has been fulfilled." The Way of perfection revealed in creation: "The invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by things that are made." "There are three things too wonderful for me, yes four which I can't attain to: the way of an eagle in the air, the way of a serpent up a rock, the way of a ship in the midst of the sea, and the way of a man with a maiden." "The way of an eagle in the air” Soaring effortlessly on rising air currents: "Even the youth will be weary, and the will of young men exhausted; but they that wait on the Lord shall renew strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." When fledglings learn to fly, some won't learn at once the use of their wings to reach the updraft and soar and end up on the ground to fend for themselves until willing to learn. Identified with creature comfort we will not learn to soar with God, but having had a taste as brief as it was won't be forgotten. We experience this from time to time in worship, but until we learn obedience of faith we lose direction of the wind of the Spirit and end up back on the ground, to "Run and not be weary" of those desiring control, and "walk and not faint" from trouble and fears. One such eaglet like myself who would not learn at once was found by a farmer and nurtured in his chicken coop for a while, until the imprinted memory of soaring, overtook the comfort zone that no longer satisfied and disappeared to destiny. "The way of a snake up a rock" Climbing a rock by making a vacuum with its belly against the rock: "I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: you therefore, wise as serpents and harmless as doves." To seek God in our heart and continually return to Him, to become One with "The Rock that is higher than I." To abide in Him and learn to persevere in the Way; avoiding the sand and filth of the world that would break oneness between us and the Rock and cause our downfall: not to be blinded by self-sufficiency and resist the influence of Grace, to suffer all things with a single eye to please Him, "Harmless as doves." Neglect of Interior Life is not remaining in Him who Is the Life of the vine, the God of all comfort. "You shall seek Me and find, when you search for Me with all your heart." "The way of a ship in the midst of the sea "There is always a way with the wind: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that Love God, those called to His purpose." Every journey has its beginning, progress and fulfillment; beginning in prayer is labor until we enter into rest in God. Cords are loosed to push off from the old port, to clear harbor and put to sea: we leave creature entanglements in the labor of beginning, to proceed to the interior, an inner journey in the kingdom of heaven within under the rule of His Spirit. Laid bare in prayer exposes areas of our heart held back, to yield our whole heart into the wind of the Spirit. Leaving familiar land behind and spreading sails in the wind of the open sea, we proceed so swiftly that oars are useless and laid aside: prayer becomes effortless. When winds are contrary we progress by tacking into the wind: tactful to get past fear and complaining, to turn to the Lord resting in the ship. We rest from our labor and glide rapidly along without toil and make more Way in one hour than a day rowing on our efforts. The comparison of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit is so much greater, that in one day yielding to His Spirit advances us inwardly more than a year on our own efforts. "Strive to enter His rest." "For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere." "The way of a man with a maiden" A new relationship effortlessly drawn to Love: "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they shall ask, it will be done for them of my Father in heaven. For where two or more gather in My Name, there I Am with them.” The Song of songs is similarity of romantic friendship love and friendship Love with God. Love is its own reward, motivating the relationship of its own accord, to cease from ourselves and find rest in the Beloved. While thanksgiving rules the heart, what we see and hear, reason and speak, or eat and drink, does not distract from Love. Neither does our prayer need to be filled with words, but agreement of Love. Agreement more wonderful than we could dream becomes reality and nothing else real. Likewise when God is our first Love we enter into the wisdom of God as reality and nothing else real. "From now on we know no man after the flesh." "Without Love I am nothing." This is not too wonderful to experience in romantic love, but we don’t attain to remain on this mountaintop. "In the world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world." When we desire to be borne emotionally by our mate, we sink in a relationship of expectations, rather than a relationship with the Lord. While we are not One with God as we should the relationship becomes work. We long to be loved intimately and carried emotionally but having left our first Love, what was once effortless is now tiring. We suffer many ups and down to learn to cease from ourselves and find our rest in God. Even trying to impress our mate we don't Love as God Loves, but God is with us in trouble and we can’t without Him put away our divided spirit that interrupted Him. To guard our hearts from taking things in our hands again by the influence of Grace. When there is no one left to distract us, Jesus is the Door and the Way." To cease planning and wishing with imagination, and enter in a journey of discovery we can’t imagine. The inner life of Jesus is hidden in solitude and unless we are led by His Spirit we don't know the Way. Admiration worship is in secret, to find Him openly in everything. "He that is joined to the Lord becomes one Spirit with Him." "The Spirit helps us in our infirmities, as we don't know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groans that can’t be uttered." Ascending in contemplation worship (by St John of the Cross): To see ourselves there, without knowing where we are; unknowing in profound solitude, transcending all knowledge: experiencing Peace and Holiness that can’t be held; stammering and withdrawn from senses, overwhelmed and absorbed with thanksgiving beyond words; entering into Wisdom transcending knowledge. To seek union with God alone, whose Love transforms us into new creatures in Christ; dying with Him daily in the reconciliation of the cross, that we may live in Him: wounding our soul in its deepest desire, to bring us in union with Him. He who overcomes is free of himself and his knowledge seems worthless: forgetting created things, feeling abandoned, to ascend in the Love of God whose purpose in creation is for us to share. To ascend in fellowship with God whose Joy is for us to be with Him in eternity. Directions received in preparation for Journey: "We will give ourselves to prayer." Withhold nothing, take nothing, you have to be determined to succeed. Your prayer life must increase, content to participate in the mystery of God. Go, this is a time of prayer; it’s the only way you'll succeed. Keep yourself in the Love of God, don't give up: you’re not ready. Be still: know that I Am with you. "Wait on the Lord and He will strengthen your heart." Your prayer life has to extend in all areas of your life. What you do not realize is that the war is accomplished: it's not as simple as you getting the power, you have to Love the Truth. Give up your life, no more going back to idols. Don't be afraid, above all surrender (give Him your fear). Don’t stay outside, don’t worry, Psalm 118. Be Faithful unto death. Seek Me more than your necessary food.
