To me, the crux of the matter is that there was no death until after the Fall. Sin brought death into the world, so how could there have been eons of creatures dying before humans appeared on the scene if the sin of the humans brought about death?

My son got himself kicked out of several stores for wearing these bouncy stilt things that strapped on his legs. Made him a couple of feet taller than he really was, and he had to keep moving so he wouldn't topple over. The stores were not amused. (Remembered what the stilts are called: powerisers.)

Lo these many years ago, I attended a Christian concert where things seemed kinda off. Then the lead singer dismissed the band and just sang, and it was so much better! I later learned that the singer was experimenting with an unsaved back-up band. It just didn't work, in my opinion.

Some of the stores here have recycle bins you can put your used plastic bags in. And I'm one of the folks who uses cloth bags when shopping.

I grew up Southern Baptist, a denomination that came about because white people didn't want black people in their churches back around the time of the American Civil War. As a child I got to see the face of racism in the church when a Girl Scout troop that included black members visited our church for some special event, and certain members raised Cain about having those girls in their church! So if the Southern Baptist church as a whole is ready to stop excluding non-whites from their church, I'm glad to see it.

Hey, we had 100-degree weather earlier this week, before it was officially spring. Depends on where you are.

Aw, c'mon, Pat! Space rocks hitting the earth are not comets, they are asteroids. And they burn up in the atmosphere, not before they hit the atmosphere -- and when they are in the atmosphere, they are called meteors, aka shooting stars. Comets are something else entirely. We see comets when they pass close to the Sun so that the heat causes them to melt, producing the long bright tail.

The show on which Andy Griffith played a lawyer -- was that Matlock?

I don't watch current tv, but I have all four seasons of The Wild Wild West (from the 60's) loaded on this computer, as well as the complete series of Ellery Queen starring Jim Hutton (from the 70's?). So I can watch some good shows whenever I want to.

Disgusting. I won't be surprised if the students decide to rebel in some fashion.
