    Unholy Union?

I too married an unbeliever and it has been the greatest blessing in my Christian walk as it has forced me to my knees in my own brokeness more times than I can count. When I trust the Lord to bring new Life into my husband I truly witness change that could only be GOD in action. It was 12 years before my husbands heart was transformed and he found the Love and saving grace of Our Saviour Jesus, but well worth the wait. It took many prayers and an act of God. Never give up hope! If I was too suggest one thing to a believing spouse it would be: Dont be a dripping faucet on the subject of conversion. Just take it to the cross, be an example of the fruits of the Lord, and let God do His miracle in His time.
  2. I tend to view myself as a saint who sometimes sins. the Lord found me in my brokeness and offerred me grace and mercy, not because of what I do but because of who He created me to be. He chose me before I was born. I am so blessed to be His and I give Him Honor and Praise for He is More than MY Saviour He is My God. I suppose, for me the confusion seems to only come in when someone condemns me for not doing what they think I "should" be doing as a Christian. When I trust IN Him that I am exactly where He wants me to be in prayerful living, sharing the truth of my life as it has been given to me, I have no concern that I am an unworthy sinner. However I certainly need to repent daily for my brokenness.
  3. I will begin by stating I do attend and am a member of a local community church, I usually get to go Sundays for sermons and teaching, Wednesdays for prayer service, and Monday nights I help out by doing kitchen cleanup for the Alpha program. It has taken me most of my 46 years to get to this point though, for many of the reasons already stated above I have been in and out of a church building, tried out many differnt denominations in search of what my heart confirmed Truth, as well as a fellowship that permitted me to be a part of the Body ( sadly too many do not ). However in this new time of technological revolution there is also a real need for church online. There is a generation that considers this their neighbourhood this is where they meet, fellowship and yes even serve and seek service Online. I personally have had more exposure and discussion of the Word of God online than offline. I have had more community prayer online than in any church. and I have witnessed of Christ's salvation more online than face to face. That does not preclude me from doing the same in my community and home church, but it does increase my heart for living in Christ to participate in both Church's in my city and online. The greatest benefit and Glory to God in the highest was that God met me where I was at while I was there. When I felt condemned by the local church because I wasnt already free from the same sins they considered most important ( smoking, living with boyfriends) the online community shared the gospel of Christ with me and they led me to prayer for change in my life, they also admit more freely their own brokeness in sin, which made me feel more inclusion in the body of Christ. Their encouragement was truly the Spirit of Christ embodied in believers who had strength where I was weak and a willingness to consider those who where not sitting in pews. That being said as I grew spiritually online, I became more tolerant of the 'hypocrites' and realized I was one too! Yes it's true. I was given tools straight out of scripture to be at peace with others and to look for what was good in people and encourage them to grow in Christ as well. In God's perfect timing he placed me back into a church in the community and though, yes they have less than perfect performance to my old standards I now see them as all broken too and looking for the very thing I was looking for; teaching of truth in partnership with each other and non judgemental love from one another. God Blessed me with the best of both, church in community and church online. I give Him thanks and Glory for all He has done to open my eyes to the need to belong to Him wherever I am. \o/

  6. I am opposed to it being legalized for any purpose other than docter ordered, in the province I live in it is openly smoked at bus stops in parks, as people walk down the streets and I believe legalization would only increase this assault upon all non potsmokers. I am a recovering pot smoker with a backsliding tendency when bait is put before me. Just yesterday evening I was waiting for a bus and a group of young people lit up and the smoke literally drew my thinking away into the notion of it not being a bad thing . I give glory to God the Father that he restored me to sanity before I acted on my thoughts. Another concern I have is that marijuana is becoming commonly laced with speed, ecstacy and other drugs to increase addiction and sales to those who are in this business and legalizing it would not stop them they would only market cheaper than the legal route. I think by legalizing it a belief would take hold that it is not harmful. This is a lie and I would not support it.
  7. For me I guess I tend to keep it quite simple.."Be where I am, while I am there." As I live my life 'in Christ' I give glory to God for those moments when I realize to follow Him is to simply be awake to that which is right before me. For example right now I am typing in a thread to Glorify God, I pray that is what I actually do through Him, I type, and move on to the next thing that is in front of me. sometimes its prayer, sometimes its service, sometimes its self evaluation to the core of my sin, sometimes its just be still and Know God.
  8. This is a commentary in my Soul Care Bible (NKJV), it has helped me to understand the whole anger issue alot better. ANGRY AS CAIN? Cain had a problem with anger. It wasn't that he got angry. God didnt warn him because he got angry; God warned him because he stayed angry. The incident that provoked Cain's anger occurred during a worship service. The brothers met to offer sacrifice's to God. Cain broght an assortnment of farm goods as an offerring; Abel presented an offerring of special value. Cain did his duty; Abel gave his best. God was pleased with Abel's offerring, but rejected cains. The older brother was furious. Cain's original anger actually represented a positive response. But the anger missed its target. Cain should have been furious with himself. Instead, Cains anger became a deadly weapon looking for a new target. At that point, God intervened. He corrected Cain's misplaced anger and offerred him another opportunity; "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. and its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." (Gen. 4:7) Adam's first born opened the door for sin. Cain got angry at God and took it out on his younger brother Abel.Anger became murderous jealousy. soon, Abel lay dead in a field. Killing his brother did little for Cain's anger. When God approached him, Cain denied knowing or caring where his brother might be. He resented the consequences of his sin. Cain displayed no remorse or repentance. He became stuck in his anger. As Cain demonstrates, anger must be ruled over or it will rule. Uncontrolled anger quickly becomes a destructive tyrant. When we invite God to help us identify the causes of our anger and take corrective measures, anger can become a servant rather than a master in our lives. Gods word gives powerful counsel when it notes, " Be angry , and do not sin." (Eph. 4:26)
  9. A few Questions to Fathers: Are there particular scripture lessons you would teach your sons to benefit them feeling a sense of inclusion as a man, husband, father? What spiritual principles/lessons do you feel are most important to the preschool child who is in their formative years of development, to prepare them for the school years and socialization with others? And lastly do you feel their are any mandates in the Bible to teach your sons to become men of God?
  10. Thank You dear saints for responding in truth and compassion. I pray that the Father above all others be Glorified in the assembly for the works to be done in His name. Just had an open discussion in chat on this subject and was very enlightened by the truth of men both fathers and fatherless, I think we will all grow from further discussion in this thread and prayerfully further the ministry to the orphan and the fatherless.
  11. In a world where more are fatherless, or without teacher and guide, I am concerned that we as Christians overlook the basic needs of belonging and value of human life in those who are lost to the streets or living in the care of government till they are of an age to be tossed out into a world they do not understand. I ask how can we bring more light to this issue and become guides to those who have grown into adults, perhaps even parents in their own right without the basic understanding of attachment and leadership in a family unit. Are we in the church doing enough to identify, acknowledge and encourage these lost children ( who may now be entering old age or may be still in youth) or are we too often presuming that they have free will and have been able to make their own choices since they became of age and they are not our responsibility in ministry? Psalm 10:17,18 17 Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, 18 to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may oppress no more.
  12. I pour a half a cup of lemon juice in an inch or two of hot water and then I use a yacht mop and swish it up the sides ..smells pretty and fresh too.

  14. And then there is the confetti letter ( I opened mine in the bank line up ) Pour about a cup of confetti on a piece of paper and fold so that it looks like a letter but needs small little fold on edge so confetti doesnt spill out . then stuff in envelope and deliver if it is addressed from something exciting like missions scholarship approval or like usually gets ripped open so quickly that well lets say .... confetti
  15. Thank You all Saints for advice and encouragement, May the Spirit of Joy in the Lord rest upon you all. Day by day I am seeing small improvements, with much prayer and a bit of elbow grease. I have enlisted the children in a big way with a chore chart..which they really enjoy participating in, they are looking forward to the reward od being able to find toys that have been lost a long time and knowing which drawer to look in to find socks. the mom has decided to postpone potty training until he is more ready to use potty, and she is starting to have a more optimistic outlook that her home could be clean and yet play messy at the same time, really with all your excellent suggestions we have come along way in a short time working together as one body . I give thanks dear Lord for all that You have accomplished here, May You be Glorified in the assembly for the cleanliness you bring in new life. Lord I continue to pray for salvation for these family's and they would also sing praises to Your great name for all that You have done inChrist Jesus I pray Amen
