Hi. I think that is a good of you to learn about some German traditions etc or even better learn some key German words! German folk are polite ('please', 'Thankyou's', hand-shakes ..... Good Morning-Guten Morgen Good Night-Gute Nacht Welcome-wilkommen are you hungry-Hast Du Hunger? sleep -schlaffen Thankyou -Danke Please-Bitte schön Bless you(after a sneeze) --Gesundheit! -German culture will vary slightly from area to area -language,dialect, food preferences, etc. So you may want to familiarize yourself with some German history -or city knowledge from where your student is coming from ! They'll appreciate your interest. German people are very smart -and they like conversing. Most German students learn English in school (at least that's how it used to be) so you should be able to communicate easily. Remember, they are coming to learn Your Language!!! -German Folk -enjoy good food! Breakfast-- cup of aromatic,fresh (emphasize FRESH)Coffee and Crispy fresh buns for breakfast(Brötchen),jams,various cheeses, Nutella) Lunch -aka 'Mittag Essen' -typically is the Heavier meal of the day. -however She/hewill easily adapt to North American routines !! -Enjoy home made meals (potatoes, meat dishes, a veggies etc) Supper meal -(usually the lighter meal) -open-faced sandwhiches /rye breads, pumpernickel breads -a variety of different sliced meats, cheeses, set out with on a nicely decorated table! -German folk take pride in nice Table presentation-especially if company over!!! : pretty crisp table cloths, table settings, napkins ! Cups and saucers!! And do not forget the German Folk -appreciate a beautifully baked cake! (Layered chocolate cake or Blackforest Cake, or even a BAKED cheese cake -which is different from a North American cheese cake!) fruit cakes [Honey -sighs].... So this is the time to perhaps think about a couple of recipes to have ready for Sunday afternoon! (A traditional day for visiting) Afternoon 'Coffee' --Having people (friends or family) company for 'Kaffe und Kuchen'.. is traditional . Once again setting the table with a nice table cloth, best dish setting, cups and saucers and a beautiful cake (or two!) Germans love their fruit Torte (flan cake with a layer of fruit) and alway -always make sure there is whipping cream!!!! I suppose the most important -thing is they will want to learn about your culture and City -Country History! -brush up on Your country's History -plan to visit a Museum -be knowledgeable about the exhibits in the miseum or other art artifacts etc. !!

Welcome Solomons Porch! -Firstly I would like to let you know that I'll be praying for you and your husband! It sounds like there have been quite a few years of these behaviours going on and I'm sorry -this is obviously difficult for you .... and your Spouse ! As a Christian, you are to -Love your husbanD maybe this means giving him that space --yes, he may be angry, or depressed ....but all you can do is --lay it Jesus' feet and love him through it .- As a woman, who knows her God, you can find peace and Joy by ...when You .come to Jesus and lay your marriage at his feet ...!! You -can still Love your husband, AND walk daily close to God !!!!-letting Him provide you the strength and motivation to honour your hubby .!!! I agree with the advice sister Kwik -gave you. To focus on God and seek Him first......over time "Your Light will Shine"..!!!!!!! and if you keep praying for your husband the Lord will speak to His heart ? .....and Turn his heart toward home (-and you) ---in between all this take time o nurture and pay attention to YOUR NEEDS -work life, social life, family life, spiritual life..... --keep it balanced -! Make friends and let other nurture you too!...... blessings sister !

As a teen-My Scottish Dad -would be home on weekends helping me dust and clean the apartment while Mom worked at the nursing home. Dad played his favorite records'Pipe band',marches and then --THE GREAT FINALLY-----AMAZING GRACE!!! ?Thanks Dad-for the lovely memory? ??Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me! I always liked the " Left Behind " (i enjoy prophecy) and when I was younger I enjoyed the book series .. .I also enjoyed "Faith Like Potatoes". I have not watched it in several years ...

Hey Girl! I am guessing that somewhere along the way--you were made to feel inadequate because of your age. Well, I must say that I do not 'judge' anyone simply because of age. I have teen age daughters (one is 16 and the other is only 9, but thinks already like a teen) --I've learned alot from my young adult girls, and I love listening to their opinions, and I would never discourage my daughters or anyone else from using their God-given talent for analyzing, processing thoughts, critical analysis or decision-making. Clearly, being young has certain advantages, for one--you are always in a position to be able to 'ask and learn'! ! ! (And you don't look silly digging down at the bottom of a cereal box looking for the Prize!!!) Please note that I have met many so-called Adults, they however acted and spoke much less 'mature' than you my dear! !! So, please do not despair! I for one enjoy your company and look forward to a growing relationship. Perhaps we can learn from each other as our Worthy Family grows! ! ! Thank you for taking the time to share this! My husband just spoke of this to my 3 girls yesterday evening!!! He loves prophecy and has taught each of them about the coming of our Lord. Yet, as busy working parents We struggle to find the time to help our girls fully prepare themselves for a world which will offer only a fraction of 'The Truth' - You've shed light on my struggle---need to delve into the Word with them - together - .....I keep telling them to read their Bible, and I know they do, but I believe now that I must take the time to read it together with them! ! ! . I pray Lord, that you surround Belinda with your Angels and protect her from any further harm! Draw close to her heart Lord, and speak words of comfort and peace to her. I ask that you wrap your loving arms around this, your child, Lord, and comfort her as only YOU ABBA can do. You are a great and powerful Lord and only want the best for your children!
