  1. Exactly Biblicist. Seek Him in all things, and do only and all that He asks of you.
  2. I can see how you could make this argument... but look at the title of this thread. It has nothing to do with Delta making a mistake about what movie they showed, but says that Delta promotes pedophilia!!! This is an extreme overstatement of the situation.
  3. Do you have any facts to go along with your claims? "hundreds of thousands civillian deaths?" The greatest number I could find was an estimated 40,000. "ultimately execute their leader?" I was under the impression that he was tried, convicted, and sentenced by an Iraqi court. "de-stabilize the whole country?" Can you provide a source to show that the country is less stable today than it was under Hussein?
  4. So a movie that points out the absurdity of the pageant system is vilified, and we turn a blind eye to the problem? There wa nothing close to pornography included in this movie. We obviously disagree on this, so I will leave it at that.
  5. No they saw a minor "gyrating" on stage as if having intercourse and stripping in front of a cheering crowd. That's not taking something out of context, it's calling it for what it is. As has been stated several times in this thread, that part of the movie was being used as an indictment of the whole "pageant" system. It was being used as a negative not a positive. You have it wrong, and it is never a good idea to go off on a tirade without all the facts. So I can watch a porno flick as long as it has a positive message huh? What you choose to watch is between you and God. To equate this to a "porno flick" only proves my point. This is much more analogous to a documentary showing the downside of pornography. Can you see the difference?
  6. Yes, of coarse you are all correct, I apologize. I should have limited my statement to recent history.

  8. Yeah, what would a bunch of Catholics know about the Bible ?!? I will never understand how such a large group here, that claim to be Christians, can use the word Catholic with such vitriol. The Catholic church is and always has been against the death penalty. While I personally do not share that view, there are Catholics that can make a very compelling argument for their belief. This is certainly no reason to start tearing down the Catholic church yet again.
  9. I make it a habit to judge all movies without having seen them! That is good! It is called discernment. It works well. Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron and EZ are in a great position to be able to judge righteously. Their lives are a testament to Christ. When a man with lots of spiritual fruit says something, I listen to him. That's called wisdom. Proverbs has lots to say on it. In this case it appears that the 3 took a few minutes of a movie completely out of context, and then continued with a line of reasoning based on these false assumptions. That does not sound like wisdom to me.
  10. I went through something simialr about 14 years ago. I will pray for all involved Ronald.
  11. I will agree with WSB in one respect, this is just like arguing over what Bible translation is the "best". If Rick Warren doesn't speak to your heart, that's not a problem, just don't listen. But Pastor Warren is preaching the true Gospel, he is producing much "good fruit", and to tear him down like this is just wrong.
  12. hebrews_beauty, Since you asked for opinions, mine is that this is one of several topics that has been beaten to death here. I do not believe that anyones salvation will be based on what version of God's word they learned from. There is plenty of opinion out there if you search for it.
  13. The point is that no one has to "win" dog. You are worrying over a doctrinal issue, that is mostly semmantical anyway. Focus on what is important. Share the difference that Christ makes in your life. Share the wonders of God's grace.
  14. 50_Cent's_dog, I wish SteveHut was around to help with this. One must be very careful about saying that one can be spirit filled but bear no fruit. Rom 8:9 says we are controlled by the spirit if the spirit is in us, and Gal 5:22 makes it clear what the fruits of the spirit are. James tells us that faith without works is dead, and Christ killed the fig tree that bore no fruit. While justification can be a moment and sanctification is certainly an ongoing process, sanctification begins the moment we are justified. If one is not progressing in some way or another, how can one be sure that he is justified (saved)? I am very glad that you heeded God's call to come back to Him. Praise the Lord for His grace!
