  1. welcome to worthy phil. Keep an open mind for what people have to say here. some are worth 'listening' to.
  2. Answers to questions : 1. No -our first parents were a single couple. All humanity has its descendency from Adam and Eve ( cf. 1 Cor. 15:22 ) 2. They had to since there were no other families around. Keep in mind that the number of daughters born to Adam and Eve may have been numerous. The generations in the O.T. give very little references to women - only a few notables. Then, it was simply a man's world. 3. Incest became unlawful under the Mosaic Covenant . The effects of incest which we presently see today include many offspring born with congenital disorders, yet in the days of the patriarchs, the cumulative effects of the fallen, sinful nature of man would not so dramatically and negatively affect humanity. Yours in Christ Rick Amen!!!! the more you read, study, and pray together... the more you will learn together there are books around that can help you in your study and some that will even teach you what and how to study something you are unsure about.
  3. i don't believe that!!!! i believe that a child that dies under the age of understanding goes to be with the Father. this in my mind includes from conception. yes, i would be more worried about the lives of the mother and medical personel. i want to ask you daughterofking, if you found you were pregnant... you went for an abortion... but before they did the procedure they detected the baby's heart beat - allowing you to hear it... or you saw your baby via ultrasound would you still go through with the abortion???????
  4. since this seems to becoming a discussion about abortion..... i will say i am completely against it. abortion is not specifically spoken about in the Bible, i believe, for one reason... back then it was considered the worst of all... to kill a baby. as i have posted before... i doubt that there would be very many women who would abort a baby if they knew that it really was a baby. doctors tell them that its ok... its not a baby yet, its just a feotus... but the word feotus simply means young one. so they are just saying its a baby in language the poor girl just doesn't understand. there are people out there who have been a result of their mother's rape or similar... and how do you think they would feel , when people say that their mother would have been better off to abort when she had the chance... and quite often the mother would be so grateful that the did not harm to her baby. i don't care the circumstance... a baby is a baby... i would not be able to bring myself to have an abortion. nor could i encourage some body else to have an abortion... yes even my own daughter. this is the subject i feel the strongest about.... nobody has converted me and no body will.
  5. its seems the 'government' is trying to take Christ out of everything. taking Christ out of Christmas by calling it Xmas is one thing that really bugs me, and they call it abbreviation... thats not what i call it. no longer praying at school... there are some schools around that will not even allow children to pray. now days... if you send your children to a public school they will not get ANY biblical teaching except that that they receive at home and at church. where has God been put in our world???
  6. good one!!! I couldn't agree more
  7. in your time of need turn to God... in my experience... when i was so 'down' and i didn't know what to do or where to turn i turned to the Word. reading the Word of God alwayts lifted my spirits.
  8. that was terrific and so well written... thanks for posting it snow. it is good to know there are other people who recognise the shift in Christmas celebrations.
  9. i think that even if the first time was genuine, i personally would get baptised again. afterall in my opinion it is just like renewing of wedding vows for example. i got born again when i was 11 and baptised about 6 months later. but i got rebaptised when i was 18. nothing wrong with a rewashing.
  10. what i don't understand is they call for this.... but then they also want to be treated as equals. i say make up your mind.
  11. in my opinion and experience... to put it bluntly... the enemy doesn't like you praying to God, and he will do everything in his power to stop you from praying. think of the adversity as assurance that your prayers are reaching the throne room of God, and satan is not happy. also i think that the reason things seem to be going well for other - the ones not praying - aside from the fact that most of what other people see is a cover up is that satan does not feel threatened by them... they are not creating and maintaining a relationship with his enemy - God. be encouraged!!! you are doing things right... and whatever you do Don't stop Praying!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. that terrific snow.... we can all learn a thing or two... by just watching peoplea little closer and with a little more love and care. yes bolts
  13. wow!!! that's all i can say. Mike showed this to me. our almost 3 year old son was in total awe, and wouldn't let us turn it off. but 15 grand!!! NO WAY!!!
