  1. Thanks Suzanne for your suggestions we actually started the devotions when we got back from Superwow(youth convention). I am trying to gear the devotion time in where they participate in the scripture reading. Lately they havent participated at all other than reading the scriptures i tell them to read. I ask them to summarize the readings(just so i get an idea of whether they understood) and they shut up. I spend 45 minutes talking and get no response. Not because they dont understand, they tell me point blank.. I dont care.. mom you are the one doing these devotions we arent. The purpose getting them to open up the word, reading it.. trying to get them to see how it applies to their life. I sometimes feel like giving up but when i do the Holy Spirit tells me, not to as long as they are opening the word and reading it , then he is working even if it doesnt show when i want it too. once again tanks Blessing Mandy

  3. Evening Brandi thanks for your response!. Im sure whoever wrote this article was talking about those who are already saved. Just mentioning that we who are christian can take communion at home in our personal lives as a part of our daily walk with christ. To me, it seems to make my walk more personal.. taking communion daily during my quiet and study time makes me think on his sacrafice. Any more comments?? God Bless Mandy
  4. Good Morning everyone, I was searching the internet this morning looking for some information on anointing with oil(have some major personal issues needing prayer over)when i came across this article. I decided to copy it and get people's thought on it. Some churches frown against taking communion at home while others don't. What are your views? Blessings Mandy Healing Through Communion by Linda Josef Although the Lord has many ways of healing, surely one of the most precious comes from observance of Communion. Through Communion, people have been healed of cancer, diabetes, Epstein-Barr virus, and more. Recently, Sid Roth interviewed Dr. John Miller, a chiropractor who has studied the power of Communion to heal for more than 20 years. Dr. Miller said,
  5. I agree with you Kahlan, just search your heart mikado and as long as you are within God's standard you should be fine. My pastor is a middle school teacher and has a bible on his desk, one of his coworkers noticed it and mentioned to him that he might want to take the bible away from the desk and keep it at home b/c if the school board seen it , he could lose his teaching license. My pastor told that coworker, "let them pull it"(the license).Let them pull it, this job is not as important as my Lord and i have plenty of students come ask me to pray with them, so if the school board wants to, let them take my license." You stay strong and keep the light heartedness about you and God will reward you in due time YSIC Mandy
  6. i agree with you, kodischild on the prayer being a conversation. Whats the point of prayer? its a direct link to God, it provide strength when we are weak. It helps build our faith. It heals, rebuilds. As for asking God for personal things, why not? Thats what Jebeez did, he asked God to bless him indeed, meaning abundaantly, more than he could ask for or even might not deserve, why? because he knew his God could and Would provide for those that will only ask. God wants us to have a personal relationship with him and i have yet to find anyone in a personal close very happy and satisfying relationship with anyone that does not communicate(talk) to one another. We Pray to get to know God better to learn to trust Him for everything and to help us get along better with other people, maybe to help those who are struggling thru each day. We pray to give Glory and honor to God. To be thankful just for being alive, being able to take that next breath. YSIC Mandy
  7. "what do I do when even God doesn't fix this?" Good Morning ink_spot, thought i would take the opportunity to reply. what i do when i feel like this, and boy it feels like its more times than none, i fall back on Psalms 23, and i fall back on that lil Poem, Footprints... the reason because when i feel he isnt there or isnt helping me, Yea, though i walk through the valeey of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me... Because when darkness is all around me i pray and trust, even if i dont feel it, for him to be my guiding light.. I keep praying, keep trusting, keep pushing through.. I began praising him for all he is worth and then the presence of God enters in. How do i know. He inhabits the praises of his people. It a sweet sound in his ears. Praise God even when you dont feel like praising. It works, trust me.. ive been right wher you are . Matterof fact i Am right where you are.. I still have questions, i still feel empty, like God's abandoned me(lost my dad a couple of weeks ago.) BUT... when those questions arise, when those doubts arise.. I pour my heart out to God, tears streaming down my face, thoughout this time im praising him and thanking him for all he is. for all he's done, for all he will do as of yet and the Holy Spirit comes and brings me peace and comfort just so i can make it through another day. Hopes this helps YSIC Mandy
  8. "When we say we are born in the image of God, doing a study of the names of God and understanding who God is.... we can better understand who we are... and we can only look to one for that example... the 2nd Adam... Christ. " Ahhhh, very good suggestion, never thought of that.. thanks ysic Mandy
  9. Greetings Mandy, The answer you asked for has already been given, but let me add: Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Philippians 2:6-8 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Hebrews 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. To properly assess what is being talked about, we need to compare "in the image of God", and in the "likeness of man". It is always necessary to first evaluate the verse in question within the context of what was written. Some would debate this, but I believe Jesus gave up all His -omni- qualities when He became man and fully relied upon the Holy Spirit for the display of his power and grace. The purpose of this was to demonstrate to us that we too can be fully reliant upon the work of the Holy Spirit in power and in grace. So as Jesus became "like sinful man", so we must compare that with the idea that man was created "in the image of God". Luke 20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. I believe the above verse may be one verse that helps link these two concepts. Please note that upon our "resurrection" we shall be made equal with the angels, which of course, are NOT God. Now because of that word "our", as in "our image", I believe it is speaking specifically of our "triune" nature, just as with the Godhead, and I believe we see that here: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. But now let's read the Genesis verse in context: Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. In addition to the "triune" aspect of Adam, we also see that God gave Adam (and man) "dominion", IOW "power over all that God had created". So even as God has TOTAL power over all that His hands have made, so did God give Adam "POWER over these very things within His creation." We have NO power over angels, but we see that God has retained this power for Himself. Also we have no power over what happens in "heavenly places". However, in doing the work of God, we can ask that He use His POWER within that realm to do various things. We know that the angels are "ministering spirits" to God's people, and often in scripture we see angels doing just that. We also know that we do not wage war against flesh and blood, but against "powers and principalities in heavenly places". Again in practice this amounts to us placing a plea for heavenly help from the forces that are at work on this earth. So back to Genesis. I do believe God wanted Adam to be fully reliant upon Him, and had Adam humbled himself, took the blame for his own sin and repented, God would have forgiven him and allowed him to stay in the Garden, but as you know such was not the case. Yet, within the confines of this creation, Adam retained the "POWER over the things of this creation. An analogy might be "someone made in the image of Donald Trump". Now what does that mean? Physical? Spiritual? Moral? No, it would mean "gifted with the ability to make skads of money", So Adam was gifted with the "POWER over God's creation". Blessings, Dad Ernie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very Good Point Dad Ernie.. Thank you for the detail explanation. This is exactly what i was looking for when i posted this topic. Thats not to say the other posts were not good or appreciated. I had a feeling it had alot to do with the Holy Trinity more so than angels. everyone has made some excellent points and gave me some further research to do. Thanks Mandy
  10. Isnt God Wonderful.. My pastor used this same exact scripture wednesday night.. Soo i get this scripture... It was Always God from the very beginnig.. Who is/was the Our..in vs 26? or more so, why say our image in vs 26 then say .. his image in vs 27? Our image as in God the Father, God the Son, God The Holy Spirit? or God and the Angels in Heaven? YSIC Mandy
  11. The question i have pertains to Gensis ch 1 verse 26 Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fishof the sea, over the birds of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thingthat creeps on the Earth. 27. So God created man in his image ; in the image of God He created him;male and female he created them My question is when God is talking about creating man in Our image, what exactly is he talking about? Our, as in .. The Holy trinity? or the angels? It makes mention of Our in verse 26 but in verse 27 it is unisom..Created in His image. just wanted to get alittle clarification on this...Ive heard it preached a few times before but never paid it any attention until my pastor spoke on it wednesday night.. well read thru it.. he didnt elaborate on that particular scripture.. His message was more towards, God said it , I believe it... any comments? Mandy

    QUESTION

My belief is(and i may be wrong, correct me if i am please) Once a person accepts Jesus with their whole heart and Soul.. Knowingly and willingly turning their life over to christ , then they rest safely in the father's arms forever. Now sometime later down the road if they should happen to willingly reject Christ and sin, then there are consequences.. If you are a christian, and you turn away, knowingly or unknowingly, God will reveal the sin and convict . He repramands his children. Can we lose our Salvation..To tell you truthfully..I really couldnt say.. I have heard both, yes and no. So i Trust my saviour to know whats best for me and continue to strive in his will. YSIC Mandy
