  1. Since Modi had been in power.... this is recent news-600 violent attacks in 100 days against minority Muslims and Christians, prompted Christians and activists to set out a series of protests.. At a September 2 meeting in New Delhi attended by over 50 Christian leaders, lawyers and social activists, several committees were set up to draw national attention to the "conspiracy" behind the sporadic violence. On September 4, the core committee announced plans to bring out a "Minority Report on 100 days of Modi Governance," detailing atrocities during the first 100 days of the new government. The government under the Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP, known for espousing Hindu nationalism, assumed power on May 26 after its landslide victory in the election to choose India's 16th Parliament. Apart from the report, the coalition of Christian groups and secular social networks have announced a convention on minority rights on October 2 - the national holiday marking the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. The convention will be followed two days later by a public protest in New Delhi. The plan followed the capital's Christian leaders' response to two recent and widely report incidents of anti-Christian violence from Uttar Pradesh state, bordering New Delhi. (My Comment:That video of 72 'converted to Hindu' is nationalistic propaganda. There were only 30 people ( of the five families of that area) with a seldom visiting Pastor of 7th Day Adventists in this particular news story.) (My comment:There are Christian people protesting the destruction of Christian Churches in India and the buildings being given to Hindu Temples. Pastors get arrested and some released found having committed no offenses. (Please see rest of story after line at bottom of page~~~~) (My Comment: Sadly, all over the world, look at China, where both Churches and Christians are being violently attacked, serving prison time, Crosses taken down and people violently attacked and imprisoned simply for loving Jesus. They are loving and no threat to anyone. . In the east, hundreds of thousands of Christians killed, tortured and on the run with great need and need of prayers. Let us pray for Christians all over the world, they need our prayers whatever we can do to help and support them. God have Mercy.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On August 27, a Seventh Day Adventist church in Asroi village in Aligarh district - 160 kilometres south-east of New Delhi - was 'purified' with a ritual and declared a temple by Hindu fundamentalists, after "re-converting" an extended family of Christian converts back to Hinduism. Hindu fundamentalist groups sent out photos and a press release to claim that 72 low-caste Christian converts had returned to Hinduism. "This is mere propaganda and a ploy to intimidate Christian congregations as a whole. Saffron (Hindu fundamentalist) groups are behind it," Sundar Singh, a Dalit Christian activist who visited the village in a three-member fact finding team, reported at the September 2 meeting. The fact-finding team reported that the "purification" ritual and the "reconversion" of Christians had been held with more than a dozen members of an extended family. Since the pastor had made only irregular visits to the village, Hindu fundamentalists targeted them. "It was organised by Hindu fundamentalist outfits capitalising on the lapse of the pastor," pointed out Catholic priest Dominic Emmanuel, a member of the fact-finding team. The ritual was photographed and video graphed and sent to the media with the claim of reconversion of 72 Christians besides uploading it even on YouTube. "But there are only five Christian families with 30 members in the area," he added. In a memorandum to the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh state, the Christians have condemned the conversion of the church to a temple, urging him to intervene to protect their faith and their properties from the Hindu fundamentalists. "The series of atrocities did not end with Asroi. At Hasayn in the same district, the pracharaks (Hindu activists) wanted to conduct the same purification inside the church but were stopped by the police," said Osmond Charles, an advocate. While the Christian delegation was in Aligarh on August 30, another shocking incident alarmed the Christian activists in the national capital: a dozen pastors were illegally detained by the police on false "converting Hindus to Christians" charges at Surajpur village near Noida, on the border of New Delhi. Pramod Singh, a senior Christian lawyer who rushed to the spot following the arrest of the pastors, told the meeting that Hindu fundamentalists led by a local BJP leader organised a protest at a village church gathering alleging "conversion." "With a crowd of protesters making a spectacle, police took into custody pastors from the regular prayer meeting. When seven others reached the police station, they were also detained. The police even beat some of the pastors to please the Hindu mob creating a violent scene outside the police station," Singh said. "The police chief of the area even told us that 'this is a Hindu nation.' The police have changed colours with the change of government," he said. While ten pastors were released late into the night, the remaining two were released only on the next day, despite Christian lawyers and leaders arguing with the police about the illegal detention. The police on September 1 conceded that they found that the allegations against the pastors were "baseless," and that people were praying with the Christian pastors of their own volition. John Dayal, an outspoken Indian Christian leader, told the meeting that "these incidents are not isolated. There is a clear strategy and plan behind it. Such instances are only spreading." Dayal's warning has been confirmed by a September 3rd incident at Shivpuri district in central Madhya Pradesh where four Dalits who converted to Islam were publicly subjected to "re-conversion" by leading Hindu fundamentalist groups. According to the Indian Express, half a dozen Dalits who had expressed willingness to embrace Islam were not spared, either. "Where is the freedom of religion guaranteed under the constitution?" asked Shabnam Hashmi, a prominent social activist at the September 2 meeting in New Delhi. Hashmi, founder director of ANHAD (Act Now for Harmony and Democracy), pointed out that more than 600 incidents of violence against minorities have been reported in less than 100 days of Modi's government. "It is time for all to join hands and protest," she urged. Rev. Richard Howell, general secretary of the Evangelical Fellowship of India told the meeting that EFI is documenting the atrocities against Christians. News source from crossmap. 2. Hi Ms.KC46, She sounds miserable inside. (Maybe no one has done much for her or hurt her in her life, we never know. Once I did something for someone and he was overwhelmed and told me how no one had ever given him anything before! I was so surprised and his life was touched by that simple kind act.. Was far more than I realized in the beginning. I even ran into him in town long time later and he brought it up again. I won't go into details. Just that our kindnesses can mean more to others than we might know sometimes. As can people's cruelties/ rude behaviors can hurt more than people care to know, too.) It will help you and help her if you can pray for her a bit. Healing for you and helpful for her. I would be sure to return the favor and let it go though far as being upset over it. Nah, I wouldn't ask her again either. But, if you really can't get it off your mind. I can say, for me, when I pray for those who act horrible, I know God blesses our hearts and the other person needs Him. Just pray more. Reflect how much Jesus has done and how much people been hurting Him for such a long time. He cares how you feel and certainly understands. We can look at what we do for others as doing it for Christ. Oh yes I agree, it is great to be able to help others and to see that there are still other people who do that, too. Isn't it? Take care and I hope you feel better soon. ♥ elkie
  3. 1 Samuel 15:29 (The Glory of Israel, however, does not lie or go back on his word, not being human and liable to go back on his word.) 1 Samuel 15:35 Samuel did not see Saul again till his dying day. Samuel indeed mourned over Saul, but Yahweh regretted having made Saul king of Israel. ~~~ 1 Samuel 15:19 Why then did you not obey Yahweh's voice? Why did you fall on the booty and do what is wrong in Yahweh's eyes?' 20 Saul replied to Samuel, 'But I did obey Yahweh's voice. I went on the mission which Yahweh gave me; I brought back Agag king of the Amalekites; I put Amalek under the curse of destruction; 21 and from the booty the people have taken the best sheep and cattle of what was under the curse of destruction only to sacrifice them to Yahweh your God in Gilgal.' 22 To which, Samuel said: Is Yahweh pleased by burnt offerings and sacrifices or by obedience to Yahweh's voice? Truly, obedience is better than sacrifice, submissiveness than the fat of rams. 23 Rebellion is a sin of sorcery, presumption a crime of idolatry! 'Since you have rejected Yahweh's word, he has rejected you as king.' 24 Saul then said to Samuel, 'I have sinned, having broken Yahweh's order and your instructions because I was afraid of the people and yielded to their demands. 25 Now, please forgive my sin and come back with me, so that I can worship Yahweh.' 26 Samuel said to Saul, 'I will not come back with you, since you have rejected Yahweh's word and Yahweh has rejected you as king of Israel.' 27 As Samuel turned away to leave, Saul caught at the hem of his cloak and it tore, 28 and Samuel said to him, 'Today Yahweh has torn the kingdom of Israel from you and given it to a neighbour of yours who is better than you.' 29 (The Glory of Israel, however, does not lie or go back on his word, not being human and liable to go back on his word.) 30 'I have sinned,' Saul said, 'but please still show me respect in front of my people's elders and in front of Israel, and come back with me, so that I can worship Yahweh your God.' 31 Samuel followed Saul back and Saul worshipped Yahweh. 32 Samuel then said, 'Bring me Agag king of the Amalekites!' Agag came towards him unsteadily saying, 'Truly death is bitter!' 33 Samuel said: As your sword has left women childless, so will your mother be left childless among women! Samuel then butchered Agag before Yahweh at Gilgal. 34 Samuel left for Ramah, and Saul went up home to Gibeah of Saul. 35 Samuel did not see Saul again till his dying day. Samuel indeed mourned over Saul, but Yahweh regretted having made Saul king of Israel.
  4. Where did you hear that no relatives have contacted about the child? I haven't read that yet. It is so sad for so many and I also felt the need to pray for this little one and others. A lot to go through. God have mercy. elkie
  5. Wish I was nearby ya, too. I sure would try to help out and find what your kitty is needing or trying to tell you. Maybe some cat owners nearby you could be a good help? Some great cat pet owner will volunteer at second chance adoption centers, might find someone there if you don't know anyone in person to help you out. Sorry it has been so difficult for you. I do love my pets. But, I won't lash out at you . I just wish I could be more help to you and your kitty relationship. I do hope you can keep you kitty and most of all that your kitty has a good home and not given up on entirely. What breed is your kitty or what does she look like? The thing is they are cats and they speak cat language, not only in sound, in body language and how the think..cat-thoughts if you will. Animals do need to be treated differently than people. They understand things in similar, but, different ways in some areas. In understanding cats, or any animal, it helps a lot to learn how they tick. When we understand them, they will notice it ,too. We can them reach the min ways they will understand well. Best to you, best to kitty, too, elkie
  6. Hi. Yes, I am a pet lover and for all of my long life. I love cats, dogs horses and other animals...... ..and I do know something about them. Too bad I don't live nearby, I would come by and help you in figuring it out. A few thoughts though. If the cat has peed or made a mess in anyplace in the home, it leaves a permanent scent that humans may not detect after you have cleaned it (but, animals still can, no matter how long). You might think it is clean. But, no, the cat smells it. That is why the cat will go return to the very same spots over and over. Because they always return to where they went before "As long as they can smell it". (This is where the special sprays to get rid of their smell from a pet store can help sometimes. I say sometimes because in my experience the sprays do not always get rid of it and carpets need replaced in some cases. Some prays may be better than others) I don't know why your cat did that in the first place however. This may sound odd... But, I have found it true and so have cat owners I know, that the type of kitty litter you use may affect your cats behavior. That one that is supposed to be more natural that smells like earth, wood or dirt, seems when my friends cats used it and mine (longtime ago now but) they would start going in other places. (Perhaps the scent of that type litter stayed on their paws and got other places -I don't know.) The regular kitty litter is best if they cannot go out side. They will go where they can smell they went before. If their litter box is not clean enough, they will choose to start going in new convenient places. I have an option that you may not right now in that I trained my cat to go out side, to ask to go in and outdoors and never indoors at all. Cats can be trained to do more than people may realize. But, sure that cats can be trained a perfect example. Even if you cat would rather you not know he or she can be trained If you have a good regular kitty litter, then need to look next to other reasons. Is the litter in an easily accessible location to the cat? Is the cat ever closed out from access to it at any time? Behind a closed door? Is the litter box ever closed away from the cat a anytime? Can your cat hold it long enough to get to the kitty litter location? Either immature bladder control or to far or closed off location. The scratching can be both a way for attention and also just a game to some cats. Also some need you to provide a place to scratch on, like a scratching post, if they are not allowed outside and some even if they go out and indoors. Then pick up your cat and put him or her by the post to scratch/ and say "no scratch" when does it on the furniture. Teach you cat where she can go scratch, and reward her with petting behind the ear or kind words etc They need to scratch though, especially if indoors only, or their claws grow too long. The longer a claw on a cat or dog, the longer the vein in it and then it will bleed when cutting it back too far. Can't only cut back a little at a time. But, they need some way to scratch and wear down claws. For dogs walking outdoors. For cats something to scratch on a post etc... Consistency is vital with pets. Also, it is the time frame. When something happens, they need you to give a quick response or else forget about it. That is how they connect action and result in behavior. So, in the first couple of minutes, you need to respond, or else it is to late and they won't connect why you are doing what you are to anything they have done. My kitty does know words and commands like no and no scratch etc. Yours will, too. (Of course they like to test us out) I wonder if your cat is smelling a previous scent to go on in the same places or in new places where she lays down to nap because the scent is perhaps on the fur or feet, and getting on the bedding or etc where the cat rests upon, the scent from the type of kitty litter or somehow getting the scent on fur and onto things? or some reason like that. Just a thought your cat may smell something that makes her think she needs to mark that area for herself. After all, they are territorial. But, my kitty never goes in the house at all and when she did have a cat box indoors, she only went in it. So, it can be worked out. Even when my kitties, I had long ago started to go in other places, and I changed to back to reg litter ,they stopped going anyplace else again. >>>>Try putting something on the floor to pick up the scent off your kitties paws, put it all round the cat box so your kitty must walk on it when she gets out of the box... so it is not traced into the house elsewhere and change that often, might help.<<<< I do wish you the best with your kitty. I hope you can figure out the cause and effect and get it under control soon, too. Might want to read up on cats more, too, be helpful. If you'd like to, you can PM me (private message -from my profile) and let me know how its going anytime ,too Blessings, elkie
  7. Php 2:5-8 Is about 'humility'. Jesus, though equal with the Father 'humbles' Himself. You cannot humble yourself to someone unless you are also equal with him. If you are already less than, it is not humility. We are also to be servants to one another in Christ-love. Jesus is not lesser than the Father. The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit are co-equal and co-eternal. Joh 14:28-31 Jesus points us to heaven to the OneGod, whom He is. God is the Father, the Son, the HolySpirit,co-equal-eternal. uncreated, from everlasting to everlasting. When HE returns we shall see Him as HE is in all His Glory. elkie
