  1. Throughout the the Old testement you will find prophesy concerning Israel, the Messiah, and the thousand year reign when the nations of the world will become the nations of the Lord, but there are several verses that speak directely to Gentiles comming to faith, depicted as recieving light. Isaiah 11:10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. Isaiah 42:6I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. In Jeremiah 16 verse 19 it appears to be subtle, but if you read it in context the day of affliction was when Israel was removed from the land in A.D. 70, but to fully appreciate prophesy concerning Israel, you must view it from the prospective of the church being hidden, because much of it points to Gentiles coming to Zion with Christ reigning there during the millennium. Jeremiah 16:19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
  2. Sleep is used often in the old Testament for death of those who are saved. And Jesus used it when referring to Lazarus. John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. 13Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. 14Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. 2 Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. In 1 Thessalonians 4:14 it says that the Lord will bring with him those that have fallen asleep or those who have passed on. Bring with him is the point. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. In Revelation 19, The day of the Lord is at hand, he is returning to set up his millennium kingdom, this is at the end of the Tribulation period and those who follow Him are the bride who are in heaven and who descend with Him. Revelation 19:7Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 17And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. In the book of Revelation the Apostle saw in a vision those who were killed during the tribulation period, further evidence that believers enter heaven upon death. Revelation7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. 13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
  3. 3340 μετανοεω (metanoeo) met-an-o-eh-o From 3326 and 3539: to think differently or afterwards i.e. reconsider - repent Jesus sacrifice is the only atonement for sin, the bibicial definition of repent is always a change of mind and heart. repentance is never perfection, but we should strive to walk in the spirit, and good works should follow. Our reasonable service. Grace is only through faith, and faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God.
  4. Baptism is a command given by God to follow conversion, and it is an important step in obedience, but baptism must follow salvation as in Acts 10:43-48, as Shiloh357 pointed out, the Gentiles that believed; received the Holy Spirit, before they were baptized, as seen in Acts 10 verse 47. Should belief ever be excluded from baptism? The answer is baptism should always follow salvation. Some of the opposing posts claim baptism is a component of receiving Jesus as Savior, and at least they view it as an act of faith, but you have to be careful not to make it a ritual or sacrament. Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Also in Acts 8:36,37 the Ethiopian eunuch asked what would prevent me from being baptized? And Philip answered him, if you believe with all your heart you may, the eunuch then confessed that he believed Jesus was the Son of God. Prior to his confession Philip taught him using scripture. The point is that receiving Christ as Savior has to proceed baptism, and baptism should always follow receiving Jesus. Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. 27And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 28Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 29Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 30And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. 32The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: 33In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. 34And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? 35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
  5. I think I have to go with AnotherTraveler on this one, that was my first reaction to the verse in Matthew 16, the Apostle John who wrote the book of Revelation, saw Jesus return with the armies of heaven and set up his kingdom, found in Revelation 19. Mathew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
  6. scare bear Just a quick reply, I don't have the time to do the research tonight to give the details, but what I can recall from the story is that there was a famous preacher who would gather thousands, and preached a sermon to thousands just before the Chicago fire. At the end of the sermon he told the crowd to go home make a decision about recieving Christ as savior, then return next week and give your testomony. He regreted making that statement, because many were lost in the fire. so the point is what if someone is on their death bed and recieves Christ as Savior, but dies before they have a chance to be baptised?, or someone in a fox hole during war, someone who gets saved but killed in an auto accident, at work, or any number of ways, and does not have the chance to be baptised? through the past two centuries there must be countless numbers of people who recieve Christ but die before they have a chance to recieve baptism.
  7. Eternal Flame, what are your thoughts on what has been posted, there are many new testament and old testament verses that reveal Gods plan for salvation to the Jew and Gentile, the rejection of Jesus and his plan of salvation was prophesized in many of the old testament books, verses such as: Psalm 18:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. 23This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. Isaiah 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: 15So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. And Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Ephesians 2 reveals Gods heart, even though Jesus came unto his own (Israel) and was rejected, God through his love then extended grace to all nations. Ephesians 2 11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. The scarlet thread runs throughout the entire bible, the church made up of Jew and Gentile alike, but after the Tribulation (fullness of the Gentiles)the Lord will return and restore Israel, and they will enter the millennium along with the remnant left from the nations.
  8. Should the Federal Goverment be involved in the destruction of living creatures? The health care bill was all but dead, but now they are trying to push it through without even a senitorial vote, the liberal left is trying to push thier agenda through by subverting the Constitution, if you believe that a fetus is a God created living creature then please call or go to there web site and let your congressman/Senator know of your opposition. also pray for wisdom for our government leaders.
  9. I know that This article is Posted by mikerunk from Pastor Martian Eldon Bledsoe but I wanted to comment on some of the points that he makes.
  10. I believe that races came about because God seperated man kind at the tower of bable, since thier tonuges were confounded this caused them to migrate in all decrections. from this point genenitics played a role, and I also believe in adaptation, where we will slowly adapt things such as dark skin if we live in a hot climate, althoug the eskomoos who are believed to have migrated from S.E. Asia still remain dark skinned. so maybe it takes a lot longer than several hundred years, this is not evolution by the way. before the flood is not revelent, because only one family survived the flood, and re populated the earth. As far as Judism, Abraham was a Caldean, the region of Iraq today. the bible also records marrages to many other peoples, altough God commanded them not to take wifes from the heathen, but Israel was in Egypt, Babylon (modern day Iraq)Persia (IRan) and different parts of Africa and Europe, many have also converted to Judism increasing the percentage of nationalities within Judism. The name Jew comes from the tribe Juda, which was prophesiezed to produce the Messiah (Jesus) Jacob produced all decendents of Israel, including Juda. Juda and Israel were separate nations after Soleman but have be rejoined since they became a new nation. this was all prophesiezed.
