  1. I am not upset with God's Word in the least. In fact I am not upset in the least. But for those who not able to look at your words carefully I will speak out. When you stated that one cannot receive the Holy Spirit until they fulfill the Law of God themselves (and you did say that), I will point out to them, THAT is not Christianity. It does amaze me how someone can use Christian terms and quote the Bible like you do and fool others so easily. But unfortunately it happens every day. Repent and believe. sw
  2. I disagree my friend. Read what this character is pushing in the guise of Christianity. He deserves to be hooted off the stage before some weak fish buys into it and loses their soul. sw Well, we will have to disagree on this one sw, there is a way to make a point without turning it into a free for all. There are times that require serious debate and there are times that require humor and humiliation. That poster does not deserve serious consideration in my view. An Islamist pushing his religion here poses less of a threat than he does. At least you know where he is coming from. A cultist that uses Christian terms can deceive new believers and that is the real danger he brings. sw

  4. St Worm says I hate to waste more time with you but when you say we are required to keep the 10 commandments before we receive the Holy Spirit that tells me all I need to know. You are in a cult. JOHN 14 [15] If ye love me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.[16] AND I WILL PRAY THE FATHER, AND HE SHALL GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER, that he may abide with you for ever;[17] Even THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH; WHOM THE WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.[18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.[19] Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.[20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.[21] HE THAT HATH MY COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEPETH THEM, HE IT IS THAT LOVETH ME: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I WILL LOVE HIM, AND WILL MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM. As you can clearly see from the above scripture i didnt say that. Im only passing on what ive found in the scriptures. The scriptures say that. Not me. If you dont like whats written in the scriptures, take it up with the Word of God. Not me. I understand your anger. Youve been taught by ravenous wolves, by roaring lions. Dont be angry. Theres still time. Turn from the 1 liners youve been taught and follow the Word. Dont let them make merchandise of you. Warning! Warning! Nutter alert!
  5. Baiting? I pointed to scripture and confessed i believed what was written in that scripture. If you want to call posting my belief in the scriptures baiting, i suppose you can do that. Its a free country. Have a good day Scarletprayer. I hate to waste more time with you but when you say we are required to keep the 10 commandments before we receive the Holy Spirit that tells me all I need to know. You are in a cult. Sorry but you are not a Christian if that is your hope for Heaven. The gospel is the good news of Christ, not the bad news of keeping the law. Repent and believe. sw
  6. Tell me what that means to you st Worm. Then ill show you what the scriptures say. Heres a preview Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. It means the law always accuses and condemns. Salvation is found only by faith in Christ through the Holy Spirit. Amen. sw
  7. So what passage are you speaking of. Please be specific. I wont repy to the rest of what you wrote as it was.....Well.....uh.....But i suppose that dont matter to you as you are not under the the law. You are incapable of sin. Aint no law, aint no sin. 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. But 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. They are new testament scriptures st Worm. Do you believe them? LOL! Now you accuse me of anti-nomianism? The primary purpose of the Law for Christians is exposing sin and driving to us Christ in faith. The Law cannot cure your sinfulness. We have beaten this around more than enough and you just want to duck and jive with the Old Testament. I think you know which passage I am speaking of. Its the only one I have referenced in the thread I believe. sw
  8. st Worm You got to stop believing in those 1 liners preached in the halls of the workers of iniquity. All their 1 liners will fall under the scrutiny of the scriptures. Just as Col.2 fell. Is Jesus NOW your sabbath rest? Youve heard what the "many" say, but what do the scriptures say? 2 THES. 1 [7] And to you who are troubled REST WITH US, WHEN THE LORD JESUS SHALL BE REVEALED FROM HEAVEN with his mighty angels, [8] In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: The
  9. I guess you havent yet read post 128? Now that you have read the scriptures of post 128 which includes verses 13-15, what do you say? No sale friend. You did not address the all important verse 13 which puts it all in proper context. No way your interpretation works. 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, [a]God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. [c] 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
  10. Uhhhh...you just said what i said and Jesus said. The sabbath was made for man. Are you saying that "man" only consist of the Jews? Are you saying Jews aren't "man"? To say the Sabbath was made for man does not require an interpretation of all mankind eternally. sw Ya know what st Worm, maybe we should expand that passage Mark 2:27-28 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: [28] Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. If Jesus said He was Lord of the sabbath day, why would you look for another day of rest? Who is Lord over that day? As has been said, Jesus is our Sabbath rest now, not a particular day of the week. It is finished. sw
  11. Uhhhh...you just said what i said and Jesus said. The sabbath was made for man. Are you saying that "man" only consist of the Jews? Are you saying Jews aren't "man"? To say the Sabbath was made for man does not require an interpretation of all mankind eternally. sw
  12. Hi st Worm. The new testament says no such thing. Youve used Col. 2 to make that point but how does the bible interpret Col.2? COL. 2 [16] Let no man therefore judge you in MEAT, or in DRINK, or in respect OF AN HOLYDAY, or of the NEW MOON, or of the SABBATH DAYS: It would make sence that the way to find out what Col.2 is talking about is to find other scriptures talking about the same thing. Meat and drink in respect to holydays (feast days), new moons and the sabbaths. EZEKIEL 45 [17] And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and MEAT offerings, and DRINK offerings, in the FEASTS, and in the NEW MOONS, and in the SABBATHS, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. Look here st. Worm, Ezek. 45 even has them in the exact same order as Col.2. Now i guess we can look at the specific meat and drink offerings of the holy days (feast days), new moons, and sabbath days. NUMBERS 28 [9] And ON THE SABBATH day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a MEAT OFFERING, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof: [10] This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his DRINK OFFERING. Theres the meat and drink offerings for the sabbath days that Col.2 [16] was speaking of. EZEKIEL 46 [6] And in the day of the NEW MOON it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish. [7] And he shall prepare a MEAT OFFERING, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah. The meat offering for the new moon that was spoken of in Col.2 [16]. LEVITICUS 23 [4] THESE ARE THE FEASTS OF THE LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. [5] In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is THE LORD'S PASSOVER. [6] And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. [7] In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. [8] But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. [9] And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, [10] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: [11] And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. [12] And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the Lord. [13] And the MEAT OFFERING thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the Lord for a sweet savour: and the DRINK OFFERING thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin. In all the feast days (holy days) meat and drink offerings were written into the laws of commandments contained in the ordinances. The above scripture points out the holy day of passover when Jesus was crucified. So why should we judge no man in meat or drink in respect to holy days, new moons and sabbath days? Because Jesus fulfilled these offerings that were written in the law of commandments contained in the ordinances. The meat and drink offerings are no more to be observed. In JOHN 6 you can see why this is so. JOHN 6 [53] Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. [54] Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. [55] For MY FLESH IS MEAT INDEED, and MY BLOOD IS DRINK INDEED. May all here enjoy todays sabbath. Jesus said it was made for man, not only the jews. Enjoy. By excluding verses 13-15 in your "analysis" you are missing the point of the passage. At the cross the entirety of the Law was fulfilled and sins forgiven. Also, your attempt to limit the meaning of Sabbath in this passage is strictly arbitrary on your part. If you wish to worship on Saturday in your liberty as a Christian you have that freedom but it cannot be imposed on others as a matter of law. Further there is nothing in the New Testament that refers to the Sabbath except that which indicates it is no longer applicable in the Old Testament sense. sw
  13. Shalom SW, Something very important you need to understand about the Sabbath and all things of the Bible: You are wasting your time attacking me and my failings, for I am not perfect, that is obvious. HOWEVER, when you take your eyes OFF of Jesus and the Holy Word of G-d and focus them on people, you do yourself and your maturation and understanding of G-d a disservice. The bottom line is, The BIBLE is G-d's WORD for us. We are to obey it and live it. Jesus is our example of how to live it. I am not your example, for I fail, so to focus on attacking me and everyone you don't agree with it simply not going to get you anywhere with G-d. The SABBATH is G-d's Word. The SABBATH is a blessing not a curse. I pray you will place your eyes on Jesus and the truth from His Word and learn from HIM the truth about Sabbath and His people, the Jews. The Scriptures are the authority and Jesus is who you should compare yourself to and see where you can be more like Him instead of spinning your wheels attacking those who are not perfect as Jesus is. Shalom to you. I am not attacking you any more than you are attacking me so stop whining about that. As far as your claim to have superior knowledge about God's Word that is no basis for any discussion here. Frankly I think you believe God's word just as I do but your problem is you don't really understand it. No one has said the Sabbath is a curse so that is just another of your strawman misrepresentations. The New Testament clearly (at least to most of us in 2000 years of the church) indicates that Christians are not under a required Sabbath in the sense Old Testament Jews were. If you can't grasp that and want to place yourself under the Old Testament rules for Israel and say Friday is really Saturday and all the rest that is your right but don't place your rules on the rest of us. As Luther wisely noted, Moses is dead and is of no further service. sw
  14. Shalom SW, Then you know not of what you speak. As usual. Shalom to you. Gee, do you think if I try really hard and keep the law like you that I can be a nice person like you? How about if I disingenuously say "shalom" all the time like you? Will that help? If everyone strives to be such a good law keeping person as you may God help us! sw
