  1. If that man made a habit of tripping, yet claimed he wanted to win the race, yes. If he is running to win, he'll see how much that trip put him back and give all diligence to not tripping again and making up redeeming what time he has left in the race. Pro 3:21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. 23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. 26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
  2. Possible? YES! Probable? ABSOLUTELY! Paul talks in Romans 2 about those who teach one thing then by there actions they do another. He says to them you that make your boast in the law, through breaking the law do you dishonor God? To which the obvious answer is yes. Because in the next verse he says for the name of God is blasphemed among the gentiles because of you. Let me ask you this. You who boast in the gospel, by breaking the gospel do you dishonor God? The name of God is blasphemed among the nations because of you. Christ said He made you free. Forget little faith, if we don't believe that we have no faith. What is Paul talking about in Romans 3 when he says that the righteousness of God without the law is manifest, being witness by the law and the prophets? Even the righteousness which is by faith in Jesus Christ unto ALL and upon ALL them that believe. What righteousness is that? That's the righteousness which John talks about in all three of his letters. He says if you know Jesus is righteous then you know whoever does righteousness is born of Him. Let no man deceive you he that does righteousness is righteous as Christ is righteous. That's the righteousness that leads you to go and sin no more as Christ said. That's the righteous seed that dwells in you that makes it so you cannot sin (1Jo 3:6,9; 5:18; 2Jo 9-10; 3Jo 11). You see if you have the mind of Christ you will cease from sin. For the rest of your days you will no longer live unto the lusts of the flesh but to the will of God (1Pe 4:1-4). Then you'll give diligence to making your calling and election sure, you will never fall (2Pe 1:10). If someone doesn't bring you this doctrine, that if you sin you're of the devil and if you abide in the doctrine of Christ you won't sin, don't receive them into your house, neither bid them godspeed. If you bid them godspeed you take part in their evil deeds (2Jo 9-10). People take Romans 7 out of context to justify their hypocricy. Quoting Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. They miss the whole point of Romans 7. Instead of using it to continue the points in Romans 6 and using it to help explain what he is about to talk about in 8, they remove it all together from those two chapters and build doctrines as if it was a book unto itself. Consider. Rom 7:1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? Who of Paul's brethren knew the law? The Jew or the Gentile? The Jew, so Paul here is talking to the Jews. Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. You see Paul is making the same point here as he did in chapter 6. Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. You see he says for when we were (past tense)? Because now the old man is dead, crucified. So everything coming hereafter is his explaination of what took place when he was in the flesh. When he was in the flesh he was a pharisee of pharisees. That delighted in the law of God after the inner man, but still had that old man bringing him into bondage to the law of sin in his members. You see him say, Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. But he says in chapter 6... Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. So in chapter 6 he says your free from sin, in chapter 7 he says your sold under sin. Why the contradiction? Because he is not talking about him presently, but him in the flesh as a Jew. Why would Paul go through all this about being dead to sin just to tell them that it hasn't worked for him? It's like me saying Christ made me free, but I can't help myself. Sin has no hold on me, but I sure can't stop it. It's lunicy, idiocy, and illogical. You see Paul in the next chapter says that the carnal mind is emnity toward God because it is not subject to the law of God, neither can it be. Which is exactly what he is proving in chapter 7. That he in his carnal, fleshy state even as a Pharisee of Pharisees couldn't do as he willed. He'd will but he could not perform. Paul in chapter 7 said this Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. He askes who will deliver him. Then states God through Jesus Christ our lord. Then sums up the whole point of chapter 7. Showing everyone the struggle which all Jews have. They have the law and believe it, but they can never perform it. So how did God through Jesus Christ our Lord deliver Paul from the body of death? Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. THAT'S GOSPEL! There is no condemnation for all Christians? NO! There is no condemnation for those that walk after the Spirit. If you follow the flesh, Paul says in chapter 1 verse 18 that the wrath of God will be reveal against you who HOLD the TRUTH in unrighteousness. You hold it, and yet you keep following unrighteousness. Be assured it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus set him free from what? The law of sin and death? What law is that? Why that's the law he was just talking about in Romans 7! Let's keep reading. For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh (the law is spiritual but I am carnal sold under sin), God sending His own Son in likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. Why would God do that? So that the righteousness of the law... wait a second. What righteousness is that? The righteousness Paul was trying so hard to obtain in chapter 7. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. You see those that are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. So I can either have Christ and walk by, live by, be in the Spirit, or I can continue in sin, walk in darkness, not know the truth, and be in the flesh without Christ. 1Jo 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light (that's light without any darkness), we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Now John is saying it to? Either I can have my sins cleansed and no longer walk in darkness, or I can walk in darkness and then how will my sins be cleansed. You see John said, 1Jo 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. What is it to abide in Him? 1Jo 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. That's something. 1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1Jo 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Wait... so if I have the hope of being called a son of God I'll purfy myself even as Christ was pure. That's PURE! That's being holy as He is holy. That's being righteous as He is righteous. That's going and sinning no more. You see John had to reasons for writing the letter of 1John. First, that they would sin not (2:1). And 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. How can you know you have eternal life? 1Jo 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. What is it to love the brethen? 1Jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. You see God's commandments aren't a burden to us, they are our life, our joy, our peace. Because we have already overcome the world with it's affections and lusts. 1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? It's possible to not be a hypocrite. I have now not been one for several months. No glory to me all glory to God. For it was by faith in His word with which He creates, which is light, life, and truth, that He has worked in me both to will and do of His good pleasure. If He hadn't spoke those things which are not as if there were, I wouldn't have been able to accomplish anything. But since He pronounce me dead to sin, and I believe His word, His word mixed with my faith produced the miracluous work of His righteousness being revealed in someone such as me. His righteousness which was revealed in the law in it's perfection, has truly been revealed from faith to faith. In the Old Covenant to it being written on my heart and accomplished in my body in the New Covenant. Thank you Lord. Who is this King of Glory who lives inside me? He is the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle is He! The victory has been won, now I get the joy of watching it play out before my very eyes everyday. My joy and my glory is in watching God use my faith to overcome all temptations, trials, and tribulations all day every day. Thanks be to God who is never slack with His grace. Grace is unmerited favor. What does that mean? It's like this. I'm doing the dishes and am getting tired. His grace doesn't tell me, ok go sit down I'll finish up here. No His grace comes right beside me and works with me until I'm finished the job. It's unmerited favor in that I should be doing it all myself, but God used His word to work through me to put me to death and make me alive to Him and to Him alone. Happy is he whose God is the Lord! He has given you all your need for life and godliness. That means He has given you all you need to not be a hypocrite. Will you believe Him? May God give you wisdom and understanding. He truly gives to all men generously and without finding fault. A gracious and merciful God is He! Ever loving and compassionate! It is our reasonable service considering all He has done for us to present our bodies as living sacrifices, HOLY and acceptable in His sight. That's reasonable. We should do it. We dishonor God when we don't. He is jealous. Today, if you hear His voice, harden not your heart as the children of Isreal did in the wilderness. They provoked Him to wrath and His anger was not turned from them. A generation died in the wilderness. God cut of Isreal and let us in because of their provokation. He said that we would be a people that would follow Him, unlike they. Let's be that people! Let's make our God proud to be called our God. Let's not make Him ashamed to be called our God. He has prepared a city for us, the true believers. He woed the Pharisees 8 times (7 if you read NIV) for being hypocrites. Do we expect He would woe us any less for us whom He has set free remaining in the same state those hypocrites did? He didn't set them free, and woed them 8 times. He set us free, and we think we can be like them and not receive the greater condemnation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
  3. I am first brought to ask are these two different? Can you have faith without works? No, it is dead. Can you have works without faith? No, though you work for the rest of your life it will only be filthy rags to God. God is light. If we say we have fellowship with the light, yet walk in darkness, we lie and don't know the truth. If we hold the truth in unrighteousness the wrath of God will be revealed against us. James makes the point that faith that is not effectual faith is no faith at all. It's dead. You'll notice that James uses the same person as an example as Paul did for his example on faith apart from works. Abraham was justified by faith apart from his works as it is writen, Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. James talks about Abraham's work in offering up Isaac. Hebrews 11 says that by faith Abraham offered up Isaac, and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son. Of whom it was said in Isaac shall thy seed be called. Accounting that God was able to raise him up even from the dead, from whence he had also received him in a figure. Let me give you some background. You see God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations and in his seed would all the nations be blessed. After God made the promise He let Abraham wait for many years, perfecting his faith by patience. Abraham and Sarah finally decided many God didn't mean by Sarah and that Abraham should know His bondwoman Hagar. Abraham tried to fulfill God's promise with his own flesh. Then God came to him once again and told him that Ishmael would not be the promised seed. God would not use the flesh to bring about the promise. God told him it would be by Sarah. God then waited a few more years. Abraham then believed God. He didn't consider his own body or the body of his wife. Though they both be as good as dead, Abraham and Sarah judged that God, who had promised, would be faithful. They then did not try to accomplish in their own fleshy strivings, but they waiting on God to fulfill His promise. Then Isaac came. Ishmael lusted against Isaac because he say the love his father had for him. Isaac represents the promise and the spirit. Ishmael the flesh. Wherefore God told Abraham that He must send away Hagar and Ishmael. You see when you have the promise and the spirit you must send away the flesh. You become dead to it, dead as in if I stop smoking cigarettes I'm dead to them. I have no more dealings with them. Someone talks about them, and I'm immune to the conversation because I will have nothing to do with them any longer. So Abraham became dead to Ishmael. God had already taught Abraham that He would fulfill His own promises and that Abraham in his flesh couldn't perform that which God had promised. Which lead taught Abraham that God would have to accomplish it in him, all he had to do was believe God and He'd take care of the rest. So when God told Abraham go sacrifice Isaac, the promised child, the one in whom his seed should be called. Abraham believed God, and straightway went. He traveled with a group of people. When finally they made it to the hill where he would sacrifice Isaac, Abraham told those that were walking with him, stay here Isaac and I will return. You see, Abraham believed God and fully believed he was going to go sacrifice Isaac here. But he believed God that in Isaac his seed should be called. Since he knew God would be faithful, he was getting ready for a miracluous sight. He though he was about to get to see God's hand at work before his very eyes. He thought he was in for an adventure. You see he thought, that he would go up there, sacrifice Isaac, then turn to God and say alright God I sacrificed him... now raise him from the dead. Do you see his faith? He knew what God said before. He knew what God said right then. He didn't doubt the one before. He didn't doubt the word right then. Instead he worked out logically how they both could be accomplished. He didn't stagger at the promises through unbelief. He was strong in faith, giving glory to God. He was fully persuaded thatwhat God had promised, He was able also to perform. So Abraham pulled back the knife, and God stopped him. Abraham had faith in God's promises. Because He believed God, his works followed. If you believe something, your works will not contradict it. If I believe I'm allergic to apples and will die if I eat one and that I should not bring death upon myself, you will not see me walking around eating apples. My belief dictates my works. If you see me eating an apple, that belief I held is dead. So how does this apply to us? 2 chapters after Paul talks about Abraham believing God and it being counted unto Him for righteousness and him not staggering at the promse, Paul tells us the promises of God concerning us. All of Romans 6-8 is about God's promise to us about freedom from sin. God tells us by Paul that our old man (the flesh, or sinful nature) is crucified with Christ, that the body of sin might be destroyed that henceforth we should not serve sin. If you believe that will you keep sinning? How can we that are dead to sin live any longer therein? If you believe it, you'll live it also. You're fight will not be a fight to perform in your flesh, it will be a fight of faith to maintain your belief and trust in the gospel of Christ. You see Abraham considered not his own body, nor the deadness of Sarah's womb. And when God tells you you are dead to sin, you should not consider your body and how much you crave sin everyday. You should say, God said it it is true. Then believing it is true, that will dictate your actions from that point on. Should I go to the strip club tonight? Nah, I'm dead to that now. Should I eat so much food that I can't move? Nah, I'm dead to gluttony. Should I look at pornagraphy on the web? Nah, I'm dead to lust. You see the carnal mind is emnity toward God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither can it be (which Paul shows in Romans 7). To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritally minded is life and peace. Those that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but those that are after the Spirit mind the things of the Spirit. If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Christians are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. The battle is won. The struggle against sin is over. Only someone who is mindful of the flesh would tell you anything else. Because all of the word of God which is inspired by the Spirit says your free, the battle is over, your flesh is dead. Only if you consider your own carnal body, will you come up with something else. And then there is no way for you to be subject to the law of God. You will will to do right, but you will not be able to perform. You will will to not do what is wrong, but you will not be able to keep yourself from it. But the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ will set you free from that law of sin and death which wages war in your members. To God be all glory, honor, and praise for revealing the righteousness of God in us. All boasting is in Him, in the work He performs in us by His word which is light, life, and truth. Thank the Lord for He is good. He gives graces when it becomes most needful. He never lets us be tempted above that which we are able to endure. All we must to when those trials get hard is turn to God, trust on His grace, and rejoice that we dead to it and alive to Him receiving the crown of life which He has promised to those that love Him. So to answer your question. Be, and then you won't be able to help but do.
  4. BellaRose, Grace and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ the Lord. I have been blessed by your questions. I pray that I may in turn bless you with my answers. I will do my best to not give you my own words that will only amount to vanity and futility. Rather I will use the seed which God has give me. I will cast the word of God your direction, may God bear witness and bring the increase in your life as well as in mine. Because everything I will tell you will be something that I have told myself very many times. In teaching you, I also teach myself. Not because I condemn myself with my teaching, but that I live it and reenforce it in my life everytime I share it with others. That being said, all glory be to God who performed this act in my life by His Word which is life, peace, light, and truth. The life is that which comes from the uncorruptable seed, eternal life. The peace is that peace which Christ left us that surpasses all understanding. The light is the light of God in which is no darkness. Which God has given my that I may let it shine before all men. The truth is the true gospel common throughout the entire Bible about the salvation which was once delivered unto the saints. There is no lie in it. Now I am but a man. I am ever changing, but the Word of God is unchangable, eternal, and perfect. It needs nothing added or taken away from it. So I will not add my own experience to what I say unless it expressly proves and agrees with the truth. How can two walk together unless they agree? Can we walk with God and not agree with Him? He is unwavering. So if it comes between my being something based on my ever-changing experience or the constancy of God's word, I will choose God's word. Now to answer your questions. Is the church following the GOSPEL of Christ or the doctrine of men? 2Jo 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed: 11 For he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds. 1Jo 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 3Jo 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. You see here that in every one of John's letter he makes the point to speak of this. If we say we have fellowship with the light, and yet walk in darkness, we lie, and do not know the truth. The divorce rate is higher in the "church" than outside. When people read the verse saying "and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" they think it's talking about the church being on the defensive. No! It's the church being on the offensive. It's the church banging down the gates of hell to get into China and preaching the gospel with zeal in the midst of a country that will put them to death. The church is no more a camp full of valiant warriors. It's liken unto a hospital infirmary full of the sick and beggerly. Why doesn
  5. 2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: The traditions we are to hold to were also recorded in our New Testament today.
  6. Great post. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. Our faith overcomes through Jesus Christ. I've been completely free from those sins that use to entangle me for 2 months now. And my expectation is to remain an overcomer till the day I leave this earth. Keep faith, hope, and love and you'll stay on the straight path.
  7. This is what I have been hearing for sometime now. Jesus Christ the Lamb of God is coming quickly! He comes for a pure and spotless bride. That is without spot or wrinkle. Once I became enthraulled with that message and identified with it to the point of getting arrested and thrown in a psych ward, I learned the message was true, but I was ill prepared for how to be a witness to it. This is the message I began to get after. God is bringing a revival to the land. Not only a revival but a radical reformation. Radical in the true sense of the word, coming from the root. Christ is going to reorganize His church to be the way He set it up to in the beginning. An organism not a corporation. This is not a message for the "church" today, but many in the church will join this revival. Rather, I am to begin seeking and saving the lost. When they come to Christ, I am see that they are discipled and that they have a fellowship. God will bring this revival by bring people to Him that want to follow Him with their whole heart. And they will utterly put to shame the church of today with it's practices. They will be meeting from house to house. Meeting as often as they can with each other to glorify God. To edify each other and strength each other in the faith. They all continue in one heart after God. When they come together everyone brings a teaching, a psalm, a prophecy, and a tongue with interpretation. Everyone speaking in their turn. Those who have this worlds goods, and see their brethren in need, give their brethren according to their needs. By this you will see the love of God in them. By this they will know they are of the truth and assure their hearts before God. And when their hearts don't condemn them, whatever they ask of God, He will give to them, because they keep His commandments and do those things pleasing in His sight. These are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a partcular people, that will show forth the praises of our great God with no division or strife. They will practice righteousness and be pure even as Christ Himself was righteous and pure. They all declare that these countries here on earth are nothing to them, they are seeking a better country, that is a heavenly, and for this reason God is not ashamed to be called their God and He prepared a city for them. All of their actions prove their faith. When they say they seek a better country and not these, they give unto each as he has need because they understand that their reward is in heaven. They won't receive any glory for their giving because glory they receive here on earth is glory they won't get to receive in heaven. To put it simply, they are all caught up in the presence of God in them. They once lived in sin and submitted themselves to uncleanness and to sin unto more sin. But not that old man they once lived by is crucified, dead, and gone. The live which they now live in the flesh they live by the faith in Christ Jesus. They submit themselves unto God, and their members as instruments of righteousness unto God. And everyone who will look at them will see the truth by their faith and by their works and by God's favor on them. And God will add to their number daily. That's the beginning of what I've been hearing lately. Thank the Lord on High! He is great and greatly to be praised!
  8. And we know that upon us receiving salvation He intervened.
  9. I would first like to point out, I'm just talking about doing things the way the early church did them. I don't really keep in mind what we do today, I see it as altogether fallen short and very close to being apostate. I hope this in itself will solve most of the disagreement. Most people don't care for the apostlic traditions we're commanded to follow. Ie. meeting daily house to house, coming together to eat a meal, meetings with only believers, the entire church of any particular city associating with all the other churches, every man bringing a teaching, a song, a prophecy, an tongue with interpretation to the fellowship, everything someone says judged by the believers, overcoming sin, the people with this world's good selling everything they had and giving to the poor, etc. When you say church, that isn't what you mean at least give me that much. Now if you are trying to have a Bible-based church following the New Testament pattern we are commanded three times to follow, be assured no one can be spiritual or a prophet is they don't recognize women's role in the church. For such is the practice of all the churches we has evidence of in scripture. Phebe was a servant. She cannot be considered a deaconess because she was not the husband of one wife as Paul mentioned twice to be a requirement for a deacon. Priscilla is never mentioned apart from Aquila. The only time we see them both teaching someone was Apollos in a synagogue not a church meeting. Deborah is obviously not in the church, but still we can find many valuable lessons from this example. First, her head is mentioned in Judges 4:4. The same principle that Paul speaks of by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That is speaking of God being the head of Christ, Christ of man, and man of women. And women needing to have their heads covered while prophecying because of the angels. A sign that they speak under the covering of and in submission to their husband. Thus submitting to the divine order which God set into place. Secondly, even in the new testament women are prophetesses. Deborah, Miriam, Huldah, Anna, and Isaiah's wives were all prophetesses. But 1 Cor 12 is not refering to the gathering of the believers. Rather 1 Cor 14:26-end is. The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. And women should remain silent. If any of you be spiritual or a prophet, you must recognize that women's silence is a command of the Lord. To get around this you must just say (in your own wording of course) I don't think God inspired this portion of scripture and Paul was lying about it being God's commandment. You have to throw out divine order, and you must never come to a complete understand that while Christ is God He still has the Father as His head. If you did, that would make you understand why man is head over women. At any rate, I don't seek to destroy any of your hopes however misguided I may believe them. God will show you why you can't be considered spiritual or a prophet until you believe this doctrine. And it doesn't make me any better than anyone else reguardless of sex, it just gives me a different role. One I must answer for before God, so I will not let any person spot me with the world. Sorry if this post comes out harsh. If you disagree just please remember it is probably because we are talking about two different churches. The New Testament pattern of the church and what is today called the church. I would consider any "pastor" an evangelist and not an elder or deacon or an active teaching member of the church. Rather just someone sharing the gospel with a mixed group of believers and not in a building they decided to name after the body of Christ.
  10. It's important to remember that Pauls first letter to Timothy in a big part was setting up the churches of the cities. We also see in 1 Corinthians 14 that women should be silent when the believers come together. Paul writes the verse 2 verses after that if any man be a prophet or spiritual let him acknowledge that the things he wrote unto them were commandments of the Lord. Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
  11. You need only google it and you'll find many hits. Humans over 10 feet tall. Humans 14 feet tall. 11'6". Dr Dino has some interesting fossilized foot printsof massive people. It's really not that hard to find.
  12. I have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Anything short of perfection God will not allow to dwell with Him in heaven. I was a liar, an adulterer, a theif, a blasphemer, and an idolator before I came to Christ. Now having been baptized into Jesus Christ I am baptized into His death. Therefore I am buried with Him by baptism into death, that like as He was raised by the glory of the Father, even so I should walk in newness of life. For I have been planted together in the likeness of His death, and I shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection. Knowing this that my old man is now crucified (dead, never to be risen again) with Christ, that the body of sin might be destroyed (and it was), that henceforth I should never again serve sin. For now that I am dead(no old man, no flesh, no sinful nature), I am free from sin(100%, no wavering). Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more, death has no more dominion over Him. For in that He died, He died unto sin once, but in that He lives, He lives unto God. I believe this very thing about myself. I reckon that my old man died once unto sin and it will never die again, death has no more dominion over me. So I reckon myself dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God by Christ Jesus my Lord. I will not let sin reign in my mortal body that I should obey it's lusts. Neither will I submit my members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but I submit myself unto God, as being alive from the dead, and my members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin will never have dominion over me! Because I am not under the law but under grace. What then? Should I sin because I am not under the law but under grace? God Forbid! 1000 times NO! May it never be! I know that to whom I offer myself as a servant to obey, his servant I am to whom I obey, whether of sin unto death, or obedience unto righteousness. Now that I am made free from sin, and became a servant of God, I have my fruit unto holiness and the end everlasting life. Now let me speak to those of you that know the law and try to follow it (ie. Jews), don't know know that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? Wherefore (for this reason), my brethren, you also have become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that you should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. As you read in my second paragraph, this is for you too. When you were in the flesh, the motions of sin which were by the law did work in your members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now you are delivered from the law, because now your old man (your flesh, your sinful nature) is dead, so that you should serve in newness of spirit and not the oldness of the letter. Am I trying to say the law is sin? God forbid! But that by the law I came to know what sin was. Sin taking occasion by the commandment worked into me all manners of sin. Before I ever heard the law, sin was dead. When I heard it, sin revived and I died. Sin used the commandment to trick me and kill me. So I testify that the law is good and just and holy. You see the law is spiritual, but we are carnal. That which I always tried not to do was what I would always do. That which I always tried to do I could never accomplish. I found in myself two laws. With the mind I served the law of God, but with the body I served the law of sin and death. Certainly, this is your state to as a Jew under the law but unable to fulfil it. O wretched man that I am who shall deliver me from this body of sin? Who shall deliver me? Who can give me power to overcome sin? Who will sancify me and make me holy? Who, my brethren (the Jews)? Let me tell you who! I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin and death. Therefore (what is this therefore there for? To make you look at my last paragraph even my last sentence.) there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. You see, that law which I was in bondage to in the flesh I was just telling you about, the law of sin and death. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. What the law could not do (make you righteous and holy) because the weakness of our flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, codemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of God might be fulfilled in each one of us, that walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. If you are in the flesh, you're an enemy of God, you will not please God, you are a child of the devil. But we (you and me) are not in the flesh! We are in the Spirit, that is if the Spirit of God dwells in us! Whosoever abides in Christ will not commit sin; whosoever sins has not seen or even known Him. He that commits sin is of his father the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning, but Christ came to destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin, for His seed remains in Him, and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Our faith has already overcome to world. Our Father's commandments aren't a burden to us. We are not hearers of the word only, we are doers! We look into the perfect law of liberty, and continue therein, not being a forgetful hear but a doer of the work, and we are blessed in our deeds. Blessed are we when we endure tempation from once we are tried we will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to us who love Him. And we count it all joy when we fall into divers tempations, because we know they work patiences in us. And patience will make us perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Plus we already know that we are dead to those tempations, and by believing such we have our strength to overcome. Our faith leads us to keep that hope, not because we experienced it already, but because God said we are dead to it, and He has the best running record for statements of truth.
  13. Basicly before the flood some believe (myself included) that there was a canopy of ice above our atmosphere (maybe kept up by something like the Meissner effect). It would filter out all UV light and double the atmospheric pressure. The idea comes from Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. Basicly you can see here there was water above and below the atmosphere. Why would someone want to believe this? Well, if you filter out UV light and double atmospheric pressure alot of interesting things begin to happen. Plants grow to enormous size with hundreds of times the yield per plant. People grow to be 12 to 14 feet tall (which the Smithsoneon has found numerous skeletons this size but covered them up because they don't support the religion of evolution). With double the atmospheric pressure you'd super oxygenate your blood plasma allow you to run for vast distances without getting fatigued. There are alot of interesting little proofs. All the fossil fuels on the earth are at least triple the amount of biomass we have alive of earth today. (It's something when you realize the gas you are using everyday was once people, plants, and animals killed in Noah's flood.) Anyway I'm sure there are people that can give you more detail on it so I'll leave it for them now. I know if you go to drdino.com he use to have a creation seminar with one part on the canopy theory (part 7). I don't think it's free for download anymore. But pretty good site nonetheless.
  14. 80 to 90 percent of people that make decisions to follow Christ in today's church fall away. Psa 19:7 says the law of the Lord is perfect, coverting the soul. To illistrate how God's law functions let me show you by civil law. If I came up to you and told you that I had good news for you, someone you didn't even know just paid a $25,000 dollar fine on your behalf. You'd probably say that's not good news, it doesn't make sense I don't have a $25,000 dollar fine. You see my good news would not be good news to you, it'd be foolishness and more than that it'd be offensive because I'm saying you've done wrong when you don't think you have. But if I told you like this this morning the law clocked you in a school zone for the blind and deaf going 55 in a 15. There were 10 clear warning signs; what you did was very dangerous. There was a $25,000 thousand dollar fine, and the law was about to take it's course when someone you didn't even know came and paid that fine for you. Do you see how telling you what you did first makes the good news make sense? If I don't bring you the law and show you how you've broken it, the good news is absurbed and even offensive. But if I show you exactly where you fall short, you'll understand that you needed someone to help and you'll be grateful when the good news is brought. Romans 3:19 says we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. So one of the functions of God's law is to stop the mouth of sinners from justifying themselves. They can no longer say there are plenty worse them them because everyone will be found guilty. So instead of debating with them, shut their mouth and speak to their conscience. The next verse says therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. As we say above, you need to know sin before you understand the need to be redeemed from sin. Paul in Romans 7:7 says he would not have known sin except by the law. Galatians 3:24 says wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. The law never helps us, it just leaves us helpless. It leaves us in need of salvation. Now modern evangelism has forsaken the law in it's ability to convert the soul. Instead it tells the sinner that God will give him love, joy, peace, and lasting happiness. To explain to you why thing is so wrong let me give you another short story. Two men are on a plane 15000 feet in the air. The first man was given a parachute and told to put it on because it would improve his flight. After a while he decides to put it on and immediately realizes it's weight on his shoulders and that he has problems sitting up straight. He decides to give it some time because he was told it would improve his flight. As he waits he notices the other passangers laughing at him because he is wearing a parachute. He brings to feel humiliated and when he can take it no longer he slinks back in his seat and throws the parachute to the floor. Disillusionment and bitterness fill his heart because as far as he is concerned he was told an outright lie. The second man was given a parachute and told to put it on because at any moment he may have to jump out of the plane and without the parachute he will most certainly die. He doesn't notice it's weight on his shoulders, neither that he can't sit upright. His mind is consumed with what would happen if he jumped without that parachute. You see the modern gospel tells people to put Jesus on because he'll improve their life. He'll give them love, joy, peace, fulfillment, and lasting happiness. They put Him on in an experimental fashion to see if it'll improve their life, and when they do the promises of tempation, tribulation, and persecution come to them. They become convinced it was a lie and throws it off and is hardily convinced no one will put that on him again. The true gospel tell them of the jump to come. Like Paul talking with Felix about righteousness, temperance, and the judgment to come. When they put Christ on, they have a deep rooted sense of peace because they know they're escaping death to come. They'll bear the weight and they'll endure the mocking from others because they know they have passed from death into life. If you were on the 100th floor of one of the world trade centers a hour before the planes crashed into them, September 11, 2001, and you were brought there to witness to 1,000 people. Would you tell them that God had a wonderful plan for their life? Likewise, no one is promised another day. We don't need to tell people of God's wonderful plan, but of the eternal death in hellfire that they can escape if only they'll believe in Christ. They broke the law. God made Himself man to pay their fine. Now, the pardon is written up and delivered and all they must do is sign it. We are all on death row. 10 out of 10 die. We have a very big holding cell with a nice blue roof, plenty of space, so we can do whatever we please. But we are still just waiting to die, and if we don't sign that pardon we'll still be put to death for our crimes. You can't go to a judge 10 years after you commited murder and say, "Judge, I hope you'll let me off. I haven't murdered anyone since then. I've completely changed." If the judge is just, he must still punish you for your crimes. So accept Jesus payment, sign the pardon, forsake your sins, and follow Christ our Saviour.
