  1. As the new year looms, please be looking for petition drives, email alerts, et al, from conservative news agencies so that you can be part of making a stand for conservative judges. The ruling dems are old and retireing - it's the perfect time to support the President. Be sure to let Congress know how you feel!
  2. This is precisely why we need more followers of Jesus Christ involved in politics. If not you, WHO??
  3. Liberals Warned on Judicial Nominees With a Democratic Senate next year (even if by the narrowest of margins), judicial nominations could be even more contentious than before. Republicans are warning Senate Democrats against obstructing Bush
  4. Democrats Will Ensure Iraq Is Another Vietnam By Doug Patton A lot of voters in the recent midterm elections were not yet born when President Richard Nixon resigned in disgrace, taking with him a great many good and decent Republican members of Congress. The election of 1974 gave carte blanche to Democrats, most of whom were salivating to yank the nation to the left, socially, economically and militarily. For those of us who remember those post-Watergate days, 2006 has an eerily familiar feel to it. In 1974, as that anti-war Congress prepared to take control of the national purse strings, the United States of America was engaged in a decades-long struggle with international communism. The Johnson and Nixon administrations had told us that the central front in that struggle was located in the jungles of Vietnam, where thousands of my generation had already lost their lives fighting a war they had not been allowed to win. In 2006, as Nancy Pelosi and her current crop of Democrats prepare to take power in Congress, we are locked in a decades-long struggle against international terrorism. The central front of that struggle is said to be the cities and the deserts of Iraq, where thousands of my sons' generation have laid down their lives in a war they, too, have not been allowed to win. >>>Read More What do you think??
  5. QUOTE(HGPgal @ Oct 29 2006, 03:12 AM) But let's not forget that Clinton was found guilty of perjury and of suborning purjury while in office. QUOTE Vexillium: "Clinton lied because Clinton's affair was not blown off as "legal." Hestert needs to resign for not doing something about Foley's homosexual predation on boys. And, Republicans need to call for Foley to be prosecuted. Yes, Foley resigned. But, that's not enough." I call dibs on Butero's response: it's bull and you know it. QUOTE Butero: "This is absolute bull. Everyone knows Clinton timed that bombing to try to stop impeachment proceedings. Republicans, unlike Democrats, try to support the actions of the sitting President at a time of war. People died because Clinton lied. You know what? That sounds like it would make a good bumper sticker." I would support a sitting President with whose political party I didn't agree IF his decision to bomb another country was for real or perceived reasons, but NOT for mere distraction from his own inadequacies and perversions. Let's keep our elected officials' feet to the fire on ethics and doing the job for which they were put in office. That's my 2 cents.
  6. Vex ~ I'm not pleased with what Foley did, I'm glad to see he resigned and I will leave it up to the courts to determine his guilt. But let's not forget that Clinton was found guilty of perjury and of suborning purjury while in office. He also tried to draw attention away from that personal scandal by shooting missiles at Iraq, et al. Don't tell me that was a calculated military tactic - ha. That was a sitting President of the United States who continues to lie today about that period of his presidency. At least Foley resigned. Leave it to the courts and let's get on to the important things in life: poverty, lack of insurance for so many Americans, homelessness in the US, the economy... I think Jesus would like us to quit quarrelling and do what He commanded - bring more children into the Kingdom! Have we been doing His bidding??? Peace to you my brother, ~~Lisa
  7. Yeah, and He uses US! Thanks for chiming in, Mike.
  8. Great satire, Justin. Some of these responses are SO good, I wish you'd post some of them at Kingdome Life here: http://kingdomlife.hyperboards.com/index.p...mp;topic_id=327. Thanks for caring! Love, Lisa
  9. Has anyone actually read the text proposed by these guys? I'm reserving judgment 'til after the book is analyzed. I'm thinking it's not as "fair and balanced" as reported in those reviews...
  10. Butero ~ I agree with you on most of your responses to AH's quotes. Great job calling evil what it is. Great discussion from a small example of left-wing extremism... This was about the Rosie comments, remember? I love some of these responses to the radical X'y discussion! Wow, some great thinkers here. Please follow up and post on this at Kingdom Life. There is also a good discussion on "tolerance." Thanks for coming over for a while!
  11. I am continually flabbergasted by the rampant regurgitation of party-liners. But here's an example of simple blindness and enormous ignorance. Oy! I think it's more than just a new tack to get better ratings. Lemme know what you think.
  12. The neat thing, LG, is that these folks are pretty fantabulous and this board is great, like Ted said. Wherever you are, reach out to find other X'ns so you can have fellowship with the body. I became born again when I was part of IVCF -- InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. It had a profound mark on my life. See if there's a X'n group on your campus. You are loved.
  13. Nebula ~ I'm sorry about that (hyperboards is a little sticky that way...). Try this: http://kingdomlife.hyperboards.com/ Then go to the Prophecy section under the Christian Life board. That should do it. Thanks for letting me know that the long url's don't work. ~~Lisa
  14. Yes Hey, luv, you know who's putting these thoughts in your head, don't you. That's the first step. Know your enemy. As far as that church, I would shake the dust off my feet and never go there again. If you are a born again believer, the Bible tells us that we are to fellowship with other children of God. That's the reason we go to church. But you do not have to put up with the likes of those people. There are a lot of churches out there, and I know that God will lead you in your search. It may take some time, going to different ones until you find the right one. But don't give up! Please!! God loves you so much and He knows what you're going through. Trust Him! That's right. I'm sure many of us have been hurt by the church. When my first husband hit me, no one at church belived he would do such a thing! My whole support network disappeared into the walls. That was a worse dagger in my heart than anything the hubby did... Christians are the worst Christians... But that's what's wrong with people -- us, not God. I think we need to realize two things. First, what does the Bible say about fellowshipping together? (These aren't exhaustive.) Psalm 133 1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! 2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar of his robes. 3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore. John 13:34 34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. Acts 4:32 32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. Philippians 2:1 1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion... And 1 John 3 continues in this vain, and commands that no one lead you astray. Apparently fellowship with believers is not only commanded, but it's understood to be the right thing. Second, we need to think about what we become and how we are influenced by certain situations. When I lived with college students, I acted (to some extent!) like a college student. When I was without a church family, I prayed less and read the Bible far less. Now that I'm in a loving Christian family of believers, I am encouraged and kept accountable in my prayer and spiritual life. It's a GREAT relief knowing I'm in the company of like-minded followers of Jesus. Would I say it's a sin to not go to church? Absolutely not. Remember also that "fellowship" doesn't have to occur in a church building. I have fellowship with some friends in our home after potlucks! "When two or more are gatherd together, I will be there," Jesus said. "There" doesn't need a steeple or a copy of the Torah... It needs Jesus and those who follow Him completely. I find that for myself, I do better in a committed relationship with Him when I'm part of a "church." Please take care of yourself and your family who needs you. Go church hopping and try to find a group that is challenging, welcoming, transparent and grateful. I'm praying for you. Keep us posted! Love in Christ, ~~Lisa
  15. Don't hold your breath Well, did you goto the Kingdom Life link and check out the prophesies, or are you just laughing because of ignorance??
