So, not even Jesus could be consoled from God because all chance of that was ellimanated by original sin. Now it is possible to be consoled because Jesus did the deed of dying without sin and being foresaken by God. Is this correct?

I think Jesus said this because he had to be foresaken by God to do the deed of bearing the weight of man's sin. What our your thoughts or that which is taught about this line in the Bible?

Do you have to be baptized to be right with God? If you do not get baptized and do everything else will that be okay with God? Or is it a neccessity to all Christians for all Christians to be baptized?

It seems that if we did not have the ability to not choose God then we wouldn't be as we are. We would be more like robots and less like something greater. Am I on the right track? It was not temptation that lead Eve to sin, it was ignorance of. Eve was very innocent? If only she knew the truth about what would happen. This lucifer makes me more angry as I speak. Without lucifer deciet we would still be an allie to God but because of that evil deception we became like an enemy. God could have destroyed us. Maybe start over. But instead, a redeemer was in order. I wonder would've happen if Adam refused to disobey God and left his wife as it was. Does anyone here agree that by Christ, we can practice letting go and dispassion from worldly things through mindfulness and meditation? Does such practice make us allies to God?

I am sure this question has been asked here ten thousand times and over... Is it the story of Genesis that explains why we are born with sin or with the nature to act sin? In life, we experience, desire and temptation and we might act on it and commit an act of sin. We are all born with these sort of forces going on inside of us. But through Jesus Christ, spiritual cultivation, we attain liberation, freedom from, and spiritual maturity. If we fail, we ask for forgiveness and change are ways with courage. The wage of sin is death. This is can be a motivating factor although I do not think we should practice spiritual attainment out of fear alone or mainly because of fear. But, I can imagine others saying that we are denying a nature that we are. Why would God create us with this nature only having to deny it? The only answer I can think of is the story of Genesis, but even then that does not work because we fell into temptation and disobeyed God. The fruit had its impact. We were casted into a world of suffering as a result for punishment. But surely God did not create us for the sole purpose to deny a nature that we are. Adam and Eve weren't made that way were they? But then, they did disobey, the temptation was there. As if we were designed to deny a nature that we are. Then of course the tree was there. If it was not there then paradise would still be with us. So, what is the cause for this sinful nature?

That clarifies much. So, it really is effort and process and choice. It is not to say that in life God's forgiveness has limitation. To make effort to accept Christ and reject temptation is a spiritual process that requires effort. To fail only means to ask for forgiveness and continue to change one's ways in Christ our lord. We keep doing this until we get it. Sin is disobeying God, unwholesome acts, unethical conduct. God's forgiveness is not gonna stop after the first time. Probably will stop until after your dead. I have to keep trying. Not pray once and act perfect from there on knowing that if I sin once again God is not gonna forgive me. It isn't like that. Rather, it is endless effort and time to try to be spiritually mature and reject sin not fall into temptation with Christs help.

To be sanctified, born again, to live a life where you never sin once more, depending if sin only is about the keeping the 10 commandments or more than just ethical conduct, will not happen in an instant. There is no action or prayer that can cause any person to be perfect or Christ like forever through out their life? It really is a matter of effort on every person part to attain that nature. Is it possible to live any fleeting moment in existance without sin? Is it possible to lead a life of never sinning again? How likely is this? Does it take time or is right away?

My room mate has mentioned to me his perspective of what Heaven is according to the Bible; and he mentioned that it is not a place we go to after we die right away. Rather, we die, wait for judgment, then live on a new earth that God will prepare for us. But, the New testament talks about it as a kingdom that we do go to righter after die, and right after God judges right after we die it seems to me. So my question is, from everyone's expertise on the Bible, how would you describe it? Is there any chance to argue this possibly contrary idea of Heaven just being paradise on earth after God judges all souls etc? Or not? Please share your thoughts. Thank You.

I remember watching a movie way back where Jesus in this movie secludes himself from the city or people, goes alone in the desert, draws a circle and sits in the center vowing now to leave until God instructs him or something like that. Jesus is then tempted and defeats the temptation like a beautiful woman as one for example. I was wondering if the Bible was accurate according to the official Christian Canon or accurate to any other literature no matter how unorthodoxed. If it is in the Christian Canon could someone clarify where cause I would not like to read it, if not I just wonder more about where it came from. Thank You.

There's no way you can argue that by floatingaxe saying this, "As I seek to serve God with my whole life, I just have no time or inclination for anything like that. Hardly." that he/she will not do it because of what it might be based on. But because God has him/her to be this way. He she is saying, I do not do Judo because, because it is not interesting, not because it is related to other religion, but because of God. Now let me explain in more depth.... Read carefully. Floatingaxe told me in a msn messenger conversation there form floatingaxe, he/she would not do Judo because it is a sin for him/her. Not because of its relationship to the other religion. but because of God. I explained to floatingaxe that it is not related to foreign religion and that person still said they wouldn't do it because they want to give their all to God and not a part. Well, there you have it. Floatingaxe said he/she does not do certain activities because of God. So my question is, is this possible from a Christian perspective to have this from God? Or is it just plain old silly? Please share your expertise. Thank You. manji, i have no expertise. but as i said, i don't think it was devine revelation from God to understand where she was coming from. if i can grasp it, then it can't be too difficult a concept. furthermore, your personal conversations via msn are personal. thank you for pointing out that i should never have a private conversation with you if i don't want it to be publicized. i do not see anything wrong with a christian practicing the PHYSICAL DISCIPLINE of judo. but you're wrong in thinking that it has no relationship to any other religion. if you'll take some time to do even the most basic research on judo or other martial arts, you'll find that i'm correct. for HER, she feels that judo would hinder her spiritual walk. and for her to do something that would hinder her walk with Christ would absolutely be a sin. for her, it would not glorify God to engage in this activity. it does not mean that she is unable to glorify God in other activities. nor does it mean that other individuals can't find a way to glorify God learning judo... even if axe has trouble with that perspective. i believe you are singling axe out to pick on her. i don't know why, and it doesn't matter why... i'm just saying that is what appears to be happening. I understand now that it is not silly to you for a person to consider that Judo practice is a hinderance to a spiritual goal is a personal descision and that just because someone does does not mean it is hindering their spiritual goal.
