  1. As a side note, see http://logosresourcepages.org/History/jasher.htm for a well-studied analysis of "The Book of Jasher". Rick Pushman
  2. Here's an odd answer; not that I particularly endorse the answer, but there could be some speculation..... First of all, there is a "Book of Jasher", mentioned in Joshua 10:13, and 2 Samuel 1:18. "So the sun stood still,And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? - Joshua 10:12-14" "...and he told them to teach the children of Judah the Song of the Bow; indeed it is written in the Book of Jasher:" 2 Samuel 1:18 Where is this Book of Jasher? Quoting Stephen Jones, "The book of Jasher was lost for many years, but in 1613 a very old copy was found in a rabbi's office in Venice, Italy. Ultimately, it was translated into English in 1840 and is available today. Its antiquity is apparent, not only by the purity of the Hebrew language (attested by its translators and others), but also by the copyist errors that inevitably creep into ancient manuscripts over the centuries. (It must not be confused with more recent forgeries that have appeared, such as one put out by the Rosicrucians in the 1800
  3. With all due respect, both sides have a history of violence to the other. Israel, naturally, has a right to defend herself. I won't deny that. However, to blindly say Israel is innocent of wrongdoing in the past 60 years of her existence ignores fact. (I know this is kinda getting off the subject) I'll discuss this further - I have to go now. R.
  4. What do we do with the O.T. law? We study O.T. law, and Jesus fulfilled it. It's been called a "type and shadow" of things in the New Testament. I've heard that the law itself is somewhat prophetic, too. Should we eat shellfish and/or pork? Why not? Just cook it thouroughly. In my opinion, they were considered unclean because they are prone to parasites. Besides, it's not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out from his heart that defiles him. R.
  5. I think there should be a cease-fire. Why should civilians on either side continue to be killed? Here's an item to flame me about: Is this conflict more politically or religously driven? Are opinions on this board based on the political rights or religous rights of the parties involved? Just curoius. Rick
