  1. Charlie Daniels, even before he became a Christian has always been an outspoken defender of all things American. I love his music and his patriotism!!! Go Charlie Go
  2. I guess I am the only one here who is a member, and as I said it does not go against the Bible. Yes, there are ritualistic words spoken, but all of it is Bible based. As Jesusaveslives said there are rituals performed in many organizations, and that in itsself does not make it bad or against God. I was able to join the OES because my Grandaddy was a Master Mason. You must be related to a past or present mason to join. There was no finer Christian man than he was, In fact he was there with me when I was lead to the Lord.
  3. I am a member of OES although I haven't attended meetings for about 7 years. I went for quite a few years and in my opinion there is nothing concerned with it that goes against the Bible. I would not have attended at all if it did. I see the ladies from my chapter occasionally and they would love to see me come again, But since I moved about 7 years ago it is about 25 miles to get there and I always seem to have an excuse to stay home.
  4. I struggle with opening my mouth and letting my opinion just fly right out of it. I am very opinionated and argumentative about what I believe to be right and wrong. I do very well on these boards because I stop and think about what to type, and decide that on a lot of threads it is better to keep out of it so I put one hand on the mouse and the other in my lap. I really do enjoy reading and learning how other people think though and on some occasions have even changed my mind on some things. Seriously in my real life the Lord is working on me in this area and I am getting better.Sometimes there is maybe a little gray in life, not just black or white.
  5. I would offer to pay half of the deductable. He may not expect you to pay but to make sure there is no tension you should at least try. If he is fairly well off money wise he probably has good insurance with a pretty low deductable.
  6. I was raised in a Presbyterian Church. When I received Jesus into my life as a teen,at my Grandaddy's house ,I joined and was baptised in a Baptist Church. I attended a Assembly of God Church with my Aunt Darcy quite a bit in my 20's. I started attending a Baptist Church again in 1992. I got tired of listening to the bickering there and quit about a year ago. I have been going lately to a church my cousin started and pastors, it is a non-denominational Church. So........ I'm just a thankful, blessed Christian
  7. When the first casinos were allowed onto the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I believe it was around '92 or '93 they were going to work wonders for the school system. Guess what? We still have the lowest paid teachers in the U.S and they are still arguing and wondering where the money will come from to raise their pay. Go figure
  8. Jesus, my mama and daddy. They could all come together from heaven
  9. Happy Birthday Luke May the Lord bless you with many more
  10. Actually my mind is fine its the fact that my body just won't do what it used to any more that drives me crazy. For instance the phone rings and I jump up out of my chair to answer it and I am halfway across the room before my body is completely upright. My right knee squeeks, yes squeeks! whenI am walking upstairs. I used to could do splits, cartwheels, and hand stands and was telling my daughter so about 2 weeks ago,she wanted me to try a split.Guess what? I fell going down steps of my back porch several days ago and the ground seemed to be a lot harder that it used to be.I was sore for 3 days. And I am only 46
  11. I attended public school, then private school for 3 years and hated it so much that my parents finally let me return to public school All of my children have attended public school, 1 still is. But luckily these are County schools that allow as much Christianity in as is legally possible. They have a huge Bible Club that meets once a week before classes. When the annual Meet you at the pole comes around nearly every student takes part . The Ten Commandments are on a pedestal right outside of the highschool entrance. All us parents with kids of approximately the same age know who each other are,if not personally, and are not afraid to be in touch if a situation warrants it. I also know the principal and counselors well, been to their offices a few times. I know there are some terrible public schools out there and fully realize how blessed we are.
  12. Amen! May each word that leaves your mouth be a blessing to all that hear
  13. As a mother I would probably do the same thing if like these parents I was absolutely assured that there was no way that my daughter would have a more funtional life. Just me, but I can't believe God will hold it against them.
  14. I love where I live, except for the 15 year old, all my kids are grown and at least for now living on their own happily establishing their own lives. I finally get to take a deep breath and relax a couple of times a day. I am even considering at 46 years old going back to school like I have always wanted to. Tell me I'm not to old!!!!! I like where I am at right now. This past year was pretty rough financially, and with my husband dealing with his pain as he tries to get over his accident. We still haven't gotten to the top of the mountains we have been struggling up so long, but I believe it won't be long now that with God's continued grace we will be able to stand on the peak. Then all of Gods plans will all be perfectly clear.
