yea, why was she caught and brought in front of the entire court but not the man?
i will never know so ill just wait till i get to Heaven to find out.
pharisees and scribes tryed many of things to find something to accuse Jesus with, because He exposed their hearts and teachings. in the law of Moses it says that an adulterous should be stoned. so the phariesees and scribes asked Jesus, "What then do you say?" They wanted to try to blame him of going against the law, but Jesus came to fulfill the law (Matt. 5:17). So if he said to let her go, then he would be disobeying the law, and if he said stone her, then He would be a friend of the pharisees and scribes. so then Jesus told the scribes and pharisees that whoever is without sin cast the first stone. well, they all left because they were all guilty of breaking the law since we are all sinners. so then Jesus didnt break the law with not stoning her because they had to have 2-3 witnesses (Duet. 19:15)
*as i reread the question i just noticed that this had nothing to do with it. oh well, maybe someone will get something out of it, or will learn something new
