  1. Who you are born again isn't a sinner, who you are born if God is a new creation, created in God in true righteousness and holiness (Eph 4:24, 2 Cor 5:17). Therefore, we should make no provision for the flesh and put off our former conduct. The bible warns about not having fellowship with demons, nor give place to the devil. (1 Cor 10:20, Eph 4:27) A believer could choose to sin. There is no clear example of a believer, but they also cast out demons (Took authority and commanded demons to go). You have articles of Paul's clothing casting out demons(Acts 19:12), but today it is not a common practice, therefore demons don't get dealt with and they don't magically go away. Here is a very interesting passage, this slave girl was declaring that Paul was from God and that Jesus was the way to salvation for many days, but something was off. Paul cast it out and it left her. Acts 16:16 Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17 This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18 And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly [d]annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour. Today, many like this need deliverance.
  2. As I said earlier, believers can have demons torment them, they can have them afflict their physical bodies as well as their souls and when they get delivered they often cough, scream and have the demon speak through them. Ususally, full on demonization/possession like we see with Legion isn't with believers. But, if someone demonized accepts Jesus in their heart, that demon needs cast out. It doesn't just go.
  3. Yes, there are many who think they are christian but not born again but, I have also come across many believers who came out of sinful lifestyles and they need deliverance. Unfortunately much of the church doesn't acknowledge it or deal with it. I went through six years of trying to find deliverance when I came out of the occult. I was a believer for those six years, born again but I was a mess. Another deception I see coming in the church is a hypergrace that gives believers permission to live in sin, because of this many end up in bondage. If a believer chooses to live in sin, they are inviting demons into their lives.
  4. If we stick to the biblical language, possession is also under the blanket of oppression going by the way the word is used. We have been seeing a dramatic increase of deliverance in my church which has been causing me to dive deeper into scripture on this subject. I can see in scripture, Oppression which means all who are attacked by the devil, torment which means vex with or harassed by a demon, and demonization/possession which means taken over by, or exercised by a demon, which is seen in the passage where the man was completely taken over by legion.
  5. Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
  6. To where, I would say they cannot have a demon in their spirit, but their soul (mind, will, emotions) yes. Just as we can act on carnal thoughts and sin as a believer, we have a responsibility to renew our soul to the truth of God's word and turn from sin as believers. There is a taking off the old and putting on the new. Ephesians 4:21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. As far as the word oppression, It is only used once in the new testament as an blanket term. So i find it helpful to get back to the bible with our terminology on this subject. katadunasteuō kat-ad-oo-nas-tyoo'-o From G2596 and a derivative of G1413; to exercise dominion against, that is, oppress: - oppress.
  7. As I replied back to Other One, oppression is used in the bible to include all those who are being afflicted by the devil (acts 10:38). That means Paul being buffeted by a demon is oppression as well as the one who was demonized with legion. What I am referring to is tormented, as it says in Acts 5. Acts 5:16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. The word for torment in the greek is ochleō, which means vexed with, or harassed by. While a demon cannot touch a believers spirit, they can influence and even indwell in the areas of the flesh not surrendered to the Lord, the soul 'Mind, will and emotions.' There is another word the bible uses, demonized, or possessed which is different. The man possessed with legion is a good example, Mark 5:16 And those who saw it told them how it happened to him who had been demon-possessed, and about the swine. The word there is daimonizomai which means to be exercised by a daemon, meaning a demon takes control of your idenity and uses you for its purposes. Because the devil cannot own anything I think demonized would be a better word. While I believe believers can be harassed and tormented by demons if there is an open door, I would say believers are not fully demonized. We also see demons in the bible afflicting people with injuries, like the lady with the spirit of infirmity for 18 years, which can happen to believers where the demon afflicts the body. This also needs cast out. Luke 13:11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” 13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
  8. To be clear, I am talking about a demon dwelling in a persons body. I don't believe a believer can fully be possessed (owned) by a demon, but a demon can enter if there is a door and cause a flood of demonic thoughts, sickness in the body, fear, intensified temptation, etc. I am careful about what words I use because the bible uses the term oppression as an umbrella term meaning all who are oppressed by the devil. Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. We see in Acts 5:16, that multitudes came that were tormented, which means to be harassed and vexed with unclean spirits Acts 5:16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. There are multitudes in need of this today because the younger generation is being taught to open every door to the enemy (witchcraft, sexual immorality and perversion, etc) and just because someone is a confessing believer, doesnt mean they are safe from demonic affliction if they open the door.
  9. In Matthew 18, the King 'Jesus' Forgave their debt, and they withheld forgiveness. It was a parable for believers. How can sickness dwell in a person who is filled with the Holy Spirit, when they are the temple of the most high God? How can a believer sin or have contrary thoughts when they are filled with the Holy Spirit? A believer who has the Holy Spirit, they are born again, the demon cannot touch their born again spirit, but the soul (mind will and emotions) needs to be renewed to His Word (Romans 12:2; 2 Cor 10:5; Eph 4:22). Our soul is process and a believer can have areas of their soul that demons can torment and take a hold, because the soul also controls the body, it can also cause bodily movements or speak through them. Demons can only take a hold of the soul submitted to the flesh. If you are a believer and live in sin, play with witchcraft, engage in sexual morality, or believe the voice of the enemy -fear, rejection, etc, you can give place to the devil in your soul. Just because you're born again does not make you safe when you play around with the devil. 1 Corinthians 10:20 Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Ephesians 4:27 nor give place to the devil. The issue is, when the bible is clear on casting demons out, we see it practiced in the life of Jesus and the early church, but we neglect this ministry and pretend it all vanishes once the person says the prayer, the demons stay.
  10. There is no agreement with Christ and Belial, and the context of that verse was believers being unequally yoked. There are no verses about a believer having demons because they cast them out at conversion according to the testimonies in acts. We do, however see warnings. In Matthew 18:34-35, we see parable of someone who has been forgiven (Beliver) holding unforgiveness and being tormented by the torturers. In John 5:14, Jesus heals a man and warns about going back to sin lest worse things come upon him. Why were multitudes running to the church to get free from demons, if they didn't have to? They obviously had some degree of faith in Jesus to come to the church to be set free. Acts 5:16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
  11. Can you give me a verse that makes that distinction? I can see multitudes coming to the Church to get set free acts 5:16, articles of Paul's clothing handed out to cast out demons Acts 19:12 along of many other examples in the book of Acts. What we see in Acts is that deliverance was a common practice through out. Today, many believers just say a prayer and go to church but never get those things dealt with. Because the church has neglected this ministry, many people play with witchcraft, sexual sin, etc and they are still in bondage after they put faith in Jesus. I can honestly say I had demons for the first 6 years of my christian life and no one was able to help because of ignorance on this topic. I came out of witchcraft where I let demons speak through me and when I became a believer, those demons came against me for 6 years. I was tormented with suicidal thoughts, demonic dreams, feeling things touch me. I had faith in Jesus, I believed He died on the cross and rose from the dead, I trusted in Him for salvation, was I a believer for those 6 years or was I only saved when I was delivered? I personally experienced a demon inside me leaving my body by the power of the Holy Spirit. For the last 12 years I've been seeing deliverance and especially the last 3 years I've seen a dramatic increase of deliverance, we also have been fasting and praying as a Church for a greater anointing and watching God answer our prayers. When I do deliverance, I make it clear that this means making Jesus King over their lives and if they don't know Him I have them receive Jesus as their Savior, if they don't want Jesus, then I will not cast out the demons. Them receiving Jesus, does not automatically make them free. After they pray and commit their lives to Jesus, repent of sins that opened the door, then I cast them out by the Holy Spirit. Many believers have said the prayer but still have demons tormenting them and it's a lie from the pit of hell to say they can't have demons. It's sad because when believers who love God experience freedom, it's a beautiful thing and they often become some of the most on fire believers you'll meet. Now, in the bible it was common practice. 1/3rd of Jesus ministry was casting out demons, through out the book of acts they cast out demons, where is that in the average church today? If casting out demons was necessary for Jesus, for the disciples, is it necessary for us today>
  12. In the bible, it was a practice in the church to cast them out. If the church neglects this, then the demons stay. God can and does deliver people in His sovereignty, but many times believers are bound up by the enemy because they have a demon attached to their life. Acts 5:16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. When I came to Jesus, I suffered 6 years from demonic nightmares, things touching me, addictions, depression and suicidal thoughts. I couldn't break free. I went to pastors and they would either not know what to do or tell me I couldn't have a demon. I was delivered when I surrendered everything, turned from sin and got filled with the fire of God 13 years ago and I've been on fire ever since.
  13. Sunday, a lady visited our church who had glaucoma. Her eyes started to water as she encountered the love of God and then she wiped the tears away and put back on her glasses, but then noticed her glasses were blurry. She took them off and could read a verse on the wall from across the room. She tried reading a bible with very small print and she could read perfectly. She now no longer needs her glasses.

  14. Yes, he was medically diagnosed and suffered for 30 + years. He had ticks every 10 minutes and it started as a teenager. For him, tourettes was caused by a demon. In the bible we see demons causing different effects, not just making the person evil, but also inflicting them with infirmity. Luke 13:11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. You also see in the bible Epilepsy was caused by a Spirit. Now with your Nephew, I don't know if it's a demon or medical. Im not making such claims. I know with this man it was a demonic spirit that left him and the tiks and symptoms of tourettes left with it.
  15. The whole event was recorded where multiple people received deliverance. The guy is still Tourette free, him and his wife are plugged into a church.
  16. I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, and the gifts He gives to spread the precious life giving Gospel. He still heals, He still speaks, He still moves. I see it. I've seen blind eyes see, deaf ears open, food multiply as we were serving the homeless, and many get free from demons. If you go by the bible alone you would come out with that same conclusion, His power is for today.
  17. That is not a biblical stance. No passage of scripture says that.
  18. Luke 10:18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
  19. This happened at a revival in the park, where we saw well over 50 people give their lives to Jesus, healed, and set free from demons. This man had a demon that was causing Tourette's and the Lord set him free, praise the Lord! Now, is all Tourette's demons? I don't know, I just know this man was bound and he sent me a long messages saying how the Lord set him free at that event. I do know with epilepsy, it can be a medical condition but we also seeing Jesus cast out a demon causing epilepsy out of a boy in Matthew 17 I believe that there is much more demonic activity than people realize, through out the Gospels and book of acts, people were being set free from demons, however, today it is considered a rarity and I've met many people who are bound going church to church to find freedom and the church isn't able to help. Deliverance was a normal practice of the church and today it is needed more than ever with the rise of the occult, sexual perversity, there are practices being pushed on the youth that open doors to demons.
