  1. They.... -believe you MUST be baptised in order to go to heaven -some, if not most, do NOT believe in Hell -do not restrict people with the 'Charismatic Gifts' and allow great freedom in their worship services for people use their 'gifts' of tongues, holy laughter, shakes, barking, etc. -believe you CAN lose your salvation (which basically says your salvation is based on works) -do not believe in a rapture -do not believe in a millennium reign of Christ There is more I can list of their beliefs, but those are the ones I would consider deal breakers for me personally. No thanks!
  2. to add to what I mentioned above... personally after I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior I automatically wanted and desired to do good. Things I use to shrug off as no big deal suddenly became a big deal. When you truly love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul you will gladly depart from sinful activities as an everyday lifestyle. Those "gray areas" in your life should become black and white. Why keep sin in your life? Even borderline sin?
  3. Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good. Titus 1:15-16 ...everyone who trusts in God will be careful to do good deeds all the time. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone. Titus 3:8
  4. I am amazed at how blind I use to be. I used to laugh at such things also, even if they were borderline questionable with mocking God/Christ/Christians/etc. After being saved and accepting the Lord Jesus as my Savior, I began to see a clear distinction of right and wrong / Holiness and blasphemous. It's amazing how a person's life will change when you truly become a believer. Now I find myself disgusted with much of what I see in this world (television is a great example). Evil is certainly out there. Please consider the Savior, friend. Before it is too late.
  5. Unfortunately the lenders don't care. They will get bailed out with our tax money.
  6. This topic is VERY beneficial to us believers who love biblical prophecy. I'm pretty certain we all hope for a pre-tribulation rapture, but what this discussion does is make us aware that if that does not occur that we must resist the evil and the temptation to be one of those who "fall away" from God simply because Jesus did not come and rescue us when we thought he would. I think one of the best things we can do besides spreading the gospel and saving people thru Christ is to also make them aware of the above statement.
  7. Your first post? You are off to a great start! I join in the applause. I third that
  8. This may seem like a weird thread, but it relates to the tribulation and such. My dream has always been to buy some land secluded from people and the rest of civilization. I would of course have running water, grow my own crops, raise my own food. I would study God's word and enjoy the stress-free, tranquil life. However my 2 flaws would be: 1. Is it wrong since I won't be able to spread the gospel to others and fellowship with others? 2. This seems like the perfect place to live/survive if the tribulation or large scale conflict or natural disaster should occur, but how would I pay my property taxes without taking the mark of the beast/microchip? Sometimes I get so fed up with the way society is that this dream of mine may come a reality in the near future. Thoughts?
  9. Agreed and I think that is why it puts fear into so many people....They do not know what lies ahead. After starting this topic over year ago a lot has changed for me personally. See I live in the so-called "bible belt" of the USA. I don't live in a big city. Everybody is pretty friendly and there is a lot of Christians and a lot of churches everywhere I go. Since spending a lot of time on the internet and (sadly) watching more television that I use to, my eyes have been opened to how much Christian bashing and Athiesm is truly out there. There is so much hate against God that it sickens my stomach. Still thru it all I can't help but smile. It only reinforces to me that the word of God is true - "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake" Matthew 10:22 Pray, stay strong and obey Gods word is the key to retaining a strong mind in these troubled times.
  10. I find it interesting that Jack Van Impe recently researched Dec 12 2012 and is somewhat agreeing that something significant will happen on that date. He announced he will be speaking on the topic sometime around Janurary 2008. I will withhold my opinion on the topic until then, but I am very curious as to his thinking on the subject. He seemed like the last person who would say a certain date would be so significant.
  11. It could be USA. Nobody knows for certain. If it is USA then the speaking of burning and collapse of the economic system could very well be Nuclear attacks and the ensuing aftermath, which is likely to occur in our lifetime.
  12. I'm new here and unaware of said threads at the moment. I'll check them out though. Pre, mid, post rapture......whichever will happen I think everyone should be prepared. If we are here for the tribulation we need to prepare ourselves and also for our friends and family who may not fully believe in Christ. Most of us believers do not care to die and be with the Lord, but I'm pretty sure none of us want to be tortured or die a horrible death, which is what will occur during the Tribulation. Again this isn't an arguementive thread. I'm simply encouraging everyone to be prepared because I see too many people who are postive we won't witness any of the Tribulation and thus will be ill prepared should we have to suffer thru it.
  13. Well not everyone believes in the rapture as it is commonly taught. We are not called up to be with the Lord until after the Tribulation. >Read more here< Where exactly do you find that we will be raptured before the tribulation? After there is no rapture many turn away from their faith. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation. 2 Peter 3:3,4 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. John 16:2 Could it also be possible that Satan/antichirst will at this time perform miracles and great signs so that people will worship him? Many shall be decieved during this time. "Then if anyone says to you, ' behold, here is the Christ,' or ' there He is,' do not believe him. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect, I have told you in advance." Matthew 24:23-25
  14. Allow me to set the stage.... The time is the new world order under one religion. The antichrist is killing all who do not pledge his alliance. You cannot buy, sell, or trade without his mark. What would you do? Where would you go? How do you protect your family? How would you survive? Do you have a plan if this horrible event should ever occur?
  15. I would like to think their would be a major protest if the chip would be required by law, but I have doubts. There are many athiests who would take the chip out of spite knowing that Christians would relate it to the mark of the beast. The majority of those left would take it simply because they do not see it as a big deal and continuously allows the government to control them without question even in present time. Of those who are against the chip, many would eventually give in once they come close to losing their jobs, house, car, food, etc. and justify it by trying to convince themselfs it is not the mark of the beast. It's scary to think what all the government can force upon it's people without vote or due process.
